Absolum has a deceptively deep achievement list. Some pop naturally as you play through the regions of Talamh. Others are locked behind multi-run quest chains, hidden areas you can walk right past, and character-specific combat tricks that nobody explains to you. This guide covers every achievement category, with step-by-step breakdowns for the ones that will actually trip you up.

Boss arenas in Talamh
Boss kill achievements: which ones are automatic?
A big chunk of the achievement list is just killing bosses. The good news is that most of them are story-locked and will unlock on their own as you progress.
Story bosses you'll defeat automatically
These achievements require no special conditions. Defeat the named boss and the achievement pops:
Bosses that need a little extra work
Mush Toll (Beat the Mushtroll): Right at the start of the game, before you choose a path, there is a hidden area. Break the rock blocking it and head inside to find the Mushtroll. Easy to miss on a first run.
Under New Management (Defeat Zafari the Bandit Queen): On the pirate ship, look for a locked door with treasures behind it. Try to loot it and Zafari will come out swinging. Note that this is RNG-dependent and a soldier may sometimes be blocking the door instead.
The Mushtroll hidden area is right at the very first path split. If you rush past it, you will not get another chance in that run.
Defeating Azra: four character-specific achievements
The final boss, Azra, has four separate achievements tied to which character you use. You need to complete a full run as each one:
- Warrior's Delight: Defeat Azra as Galandra the warrior
- Don't Mess With The Best: Defeat Azra as Brome the sorcerer
- Told You So, Brat.: Defeat Azra as Karl
- Die Like the Rest: Defeat Azra as Cider the rogue
Plan at least four separate runs to knock these out. Switching characters after each run also helps unlock quest dialogue, which feeds into other achievements.
The Hard Way is the brutal one: defeat Azra without ever resting at a Hearthroot or in a haven. According to a community note on the Steam guide by MAGNUSnoos, you can still craft at a hearth without it counting against you. Healing at rest spots is what disqualifies the run.
Sleep, my Sweet Prince (Defeat Absolum): This is the true final boss, only available after finishing the game once. The Steam guide specifically notes you should have a Mother's Grace when you reach the boss.

Combat achievements: how do you unlock the tricky ones?
Three Stars (Taste all 7 types of food)
Just eat every food type you come across. The wiki confirms seven food items exist: Carrot, Pear, Cheese, Bread, Chicken, Stew, and Fish. They are mostly found in containers across all regions. No special effort needed, just do not ignore food pickups.
Leaders Are Made (Have 4 companions and/or summons at once)
The Steam guide puts it simply: become a necromancer or pay someone. Pick up a Necromancy Mox (which boosts Ritual of Necromancy effects by 10% and adds Necromancy options to future ritual offers) to stack summons, or recruit followers from safe havens using gold. You need 4 companions and summons active simultaneously.
Seismic Fist (Deal 200 damage with one hit)
This one comes naturally in the late game as your build scales up. The Sucker Punch Knuckles trinket (first hit on an enemy deals +100% damage) or the Idol of Patience (waiting 5 seconds without attacking gives the next hit +300% damage) are both strong setups if you want to force it.
Master Fencer (Perform 6 Clashes as Galandra on a single level)
The Clash mechanic is essentially a sword parry. In the lobby, there is a Trainer and a Dummy. Talk to the Trainer and choose options 1 and 3 to learn the technique. Use your secondary attack timed against an incoming enemy attack to execute a Clash. Six in one level is very achievable once you understand the timing.
Never-ending Memories (Perform an "Out of this world!!!" combo)
The combo counter needs to pass 130 for this to trigger, though the guide notes the counter can be buggy. The Möbius Band epic trinket removes the Repetitive penalty, allowing infinite combos. The Wool Mitten rare trinket slows pressure buildup by 25%, giving you more time to extend chains. Keep varying your attacks and do not stop moving.
Archmage (Perform 10 Arcana as Brome on a single level)
Play as Brome and use his Arcana ability 10 times in one level. A community player noted on the Steam guide that you can rack up the count by punching a mine cart and keeping the combo going.
Fired Up (Throw 3 enemies into a hole or lake at the same time as Karl)
Play as Karl. You can grab one enemy and throw them into two others to send all three flying into a pit simultaneously. Find a level with a hole or lake nearby a group of enemies and set it up.
Flying High (Stay airborne for 15 seconds as Cider)
Use Cider's hook on the Dummy in the lobby and stay in the air for the full 15 seconds. Much easier to practice in a safe environment than in a live level.

Practice Flying High in the lobby
Quest achievements: what order should you do them in?
Quest achievements are the most time-consuming part of the list. A few rules apply across all of them, according to the Steam guide by MAGNUSnoos:
- Some quests require you to finish the game at least once before they unlock
- To unlock character quests, talk to all other characters during each run (choosing "Abandon Run" also counts)
- Always switch characters after each run to ensure dialogue triggers correctly
- All active quests appear on the map
Unbroken Song (Give voice to a long lost tune)
This is a multi-step quest chain:
- Complete the Vikhana's Tools quest in Jaroba first (talk to Vikhana after unlocking her)
- Pick up the tools in Jaroba, then return to the lobby to speak with Vikhana (there is a known bug where she may still show the "pick up tools" dialogue)
- Head to the tavern on the upper path of Grandery and get the lyre from the tavern keeper
- Return to the lobby and talk to Vikhana to repair the lyre
- The quest then asks you to perform a necromancy ritual. Use Galandra and acquire a green ritual at the start of a new run
- Travel to Yeldrim, open a tomb to find a hidden passage, destroy the coffin on the right, then escort the bard to the next resting area
Leap of Faith (Repopulate the Hidden Sanctuary)
Take the bottom path in Jaroba and find the NPC in the hidden sanctuary. Visit the prison to collect a key item, then return to the NPC in a separate run. On a subsequent visit to Jaroba, she will ask you to clear an Azra patrol on the bottom path before the hidden sanctuary.
Heart of the Mist (Discover what lies at the heart of the forest)
Hire the goblin in the area after the tavern. Jump down the hill behind the fallen tree trunk. Hit the Arrows between the two paths twice to reveal the correct direction to the skull.
A Knight's Tale (Beat Ruzgar the Necromaster)
This quest unlocks for Galandra after talking to other characters. The guide notes it triggered after completing Heart of the Mist, with Karl then starting a new conversation in the lobby that unlocked the quest.
- Complete Heart of the Mist (the goblin must jump into the skull-shaped water)
- Return to the lobby and let Karl trigger the quest dialogue
- Use Galandra to visit the misty grove (same arrows location as Heart of the Mist), fall into the hole, and defeat the boss inside
- Obtain a Skeleton Key (random drop, shop, or buy for 150 crystals in the lobby if you have found one before)
- Bring the key to the bottom path of Yeldrim, unlock the door (approximately the second room after the stairs), and defeat the boss inside
If you have found a Skeleton Key before, you can buy one for 150 crystals at the lobby shop at the start of a run. Do not waste a full run hunting for a random drop.
Great Old One (Beat the Interloper)
In Yeldrim, a mysterious figure appears at a gate. Watch the emote gestures he makes (thumbs down and thumbs up) and mimic them in the same order to open the gate. At the end of the path, break the vase near or behind the statue to enter a solo area. Climb up and align the lights to open the portal and reach the boss.
Naturalist (Defeat Alberich the Winged Doom)
This quest unlocks when Karl talks to Brome specifically. After unlocking it, talk to Wisshelm as Karl, then start a run to visit Wisshelm's office in Grandery and interact with the books. The key mechanic: find a Dracoraptor and bring it alive to the locked gate. In every battle involving the Dracoraptor, make sure to dismount before the fight ends so it survives.
Enemy Sisters (Beat the Arena with Ambys alive)
This is the longest quest chain in the game:
- Defeat Ambys normally in Jaroba on your first run
- On a second run, return to the same location to face her sister Tidae
- After defeating Tidae, continue the path to face Ambys again and choose the option to challenge her
- On another run, face both sisters as a boss encounter and defeat them
- One sister will appear before the Jaroba boss (the Warlord) to assist you. Keep her alive through the entire Warlord fight

Keep Ambys alive vs the Warlord
Other achievements and secrets
Progression and exploration
- Hearthroot: Find your first Hearthroot (happens naturally)
- Fire Eternal: Upgrade Hearthroots to maximum level
- Intrepid Explorer: Explore all regions of Talamh
- Ritual of Friendship: Play with another player, online or locally
Animal Lover (Pet all four types of mount)
Stand in front of a mount and hold the mount key to pet it. The four mount types are: Boar, Dragon, Flying Skull, and Plant-Bug. The Plant-Bug is on the below path in Jaroba. The Flying Skull is found in Yeldrim.
Bonus secret (no achievement)
There is a hidden boss encounter with no achievement attached. Find the area with a skeletal dragon in the background (it spawns randomly). Kill the enemies, collect the reward, then go to the center. Hold C on keyboard to open the emote wheel and select the thumbs-down option. A boss will appear. No trophy for this one, but it is worth seeing.
The skeletal dragon area spawns randomly, so you may not encounter it every run. Do not plan a specific run around it.
Trinkets worth knowing for achievement hunting
Several trinkets from the wiki make specific achievements significantly easier to target:
