Aniimo Guide: Best Ways to Earn Glimmer & How to Spend
Learn every method to earn Glimmer in Aniimo and which purchases give you the most value for your currency.
Aniimo has over a hundred egg types, and the hatching system looks simple on the surface. Drop an egg in the Hatchinator, wait, pick an Aniipod, confirm. The problem is that the game will let you make a very expensive mistake without warning you, and most players only figure it out after burning an Aniipod Ultra or a Sparkling Cube on a hatch that didn't need either. This guide breaks down exactly how the system works, which Aniipods actually change anything, and the one rule that keeps your rarest items safe.
Eggs come from four main sources, and knowing which ones are worth prioritizing early matters.
Nests in the open world are the most accessible option. They're scattered across the map of Idyll, usually at higher elevations or tucked behind environmental puzzles like jumping flowers, burning hedges, and tunnels. Unusual traversal routes are almost always worth investigating. Some nests require you to Twine with a specific Aniimo to reach them, such as a Water-type to access a nest sitting in the middle of a deep lake.
Daily Activities reward an Active Aniimo Egg Pack each day, which drops a random egg. It's not glamorous, but it adds up fast if you claim it consistently.
The Companion Handbook (the game's battle pass) hands out eggs at certain level milestones. Progressing through it naturally will fill your inventory faster than you expect.
Operation: Egg Heist is the fourth source, and the most powerful one. It unlocks after reaching Veteran Pathfinder Level and offers some of the best eggs in the game, including Umbral Eggs that hatch into darker variants of existing creatures. It's a PvPvE mode, so it's not for day one, but it should be on your radar as soon as you hit the unlock requirement.
There are two locations with Hatchinators: the Outpost and your Homeland. The Outpost version has three slots, with the center slot reserved for special eggs. Either one works the same way mechanically.

Twine screen layout explained
Every egg card has a guarantee line. That line is the only thing the egg promises. Nothing else. Read it before you open the Aniipod list.
| Egg | Rarity | Guarantee | Primary source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incredible Egg | Epic | Aniimo with Elite potential or higher | Daily Activity Quests, Twitch Drops |
| Sparkling Egg | Legendary | Aniimo with the Sparkling mutation | Elite Training, Stamp Shop, Catch Completion |
| Departure Sparkling Egg | Legendary | Aniimo with the Sparkling mutation | Story reward for new Pathfinders |
| Perfect Egg | Legendary | Aniimo with Perfect potential | Event and shop rewards |
| Shadow Sparkling Egg | Prismatic | Prismana Form Aniimo with the Shadow Sparkling mutation | Rarest tier |
The Sparkling Egg is the one that trips people up most. Its guarantee is the mutation only. It says nothing about Potential, which means a Sparkling Egg can technically hatch a Common-tier creature. The egg is shiny, not powerful. Those are two different things.
The Incredible Egg is the opposite: it guarantees a Potential floor of Elite or higher, but says nothing about appearance. No mutation is promised.
Seven Aniipods appear on the Twine screen. Only two of them do anything during a hatch. The other five are catching tools, and their cards don't mention hatching because they have no effect on it.
| Aniipod | Rarity | Hatch effect | When to use it | When it's wasted |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aniipod | Rare | None | Any hatch where the egg already covers what you want | Never, it's the free default |
| Aniipod Pro | Epic | None | Catching only (1.5x capture chance) | Any hatch |
| Aniipod Mega | Epic | None | Catching only (2x capture chance) | Any hatch |
| Aniipod Hyper | Epic | None | Catching only (2x plus faster toss) | Any hatch |
| Aniipod Track | Epic | None | Catching only (2x plus auto tracking) | Any hatch |
| Aniipod Ultra | Legendary | Sets Potential floor to at least Elite | Eggs with no Potential guarantee, like a Sparkling Egg | On an Incredible Egg, which already guarantees Elite |
| Sparkling Cube | Prismatic | Guarantees Perfect Potential and the Sparkling mutation | Incredible Egg where you already want the creature inside | On a Sparkling Egg, the game blocks it outright |
The blank subtext is the tell. When you click an Aniipod on the Twine screen and nothing appears beneath its name, that device adds nothing to this hatch. Pro, Mega, Hyper, and Track all print blank. That's the game telling you directly.
The Aniipod Ultra prints: The hatched Aniimo's Potential rating will be at least Elite. The Sparkling Cube prints: The hatched Aniimo is guaranteed to have Perfect Potential and be Sparkling. Those are the only two lines that matter.

The hatch result equals the egg's guarantee plus the Aniipod's guarantee. The two never stack. If the same word appears in both, you're paying for something you already have.
The Sparkling Cube on a Sparkling Egg is the clearest example. The egg already guarantees the Sparkling mutation. The Cube also guarantees the Sparkling mutation. The game doesn't let you confirm this combination at all: a red warning appears reading This Aniipod cannot be used on special Eggs, and the Confirm button greys out. The game takes the decision out of your hands.
The Aniipod Ultra on an Incredible Egg is the more dangerous case, because the game does accept it. It takes the Ultra, it confirms the hatch, and the creature that comes out is identical to what a plain Aniipod would have produced. No refund, no warning, just a wasted Legendary item.
The Sparkling Cube is Prismatic rarity, the rarest tier in the game. One per player is normal early on. Its real value is on a hatch where you already know the species, because spending it blind can land a Perfect mutation on a creature you'd release anyway.
The Aniipod Ultra is Legendary and comes in stacks of ten, so it's less scarce, but still worth protecting. Its only legitimate use is on an egg that makes no Potential promise of its own. A Sparkling Egg with an Ultra gives you Sparkling and at least Elite, with Perfect still possible. That's the correct combination.
For everything else, the plain Aniipod is the right call. The Incredible Egg is actually a great example of this: it's easy to obtain through Daily Activity Quests and even as a free Twitch Drops reward, it guarantees Elite or higher on its own, and hatching it with the free device wastes nothing while still delivering a strong creature.
If you're trying to get specific rare variants from eggs, the guide to all Aniipods and how to get them covers every device's full stats, costs, and unlock requirements in detail. For players chasing Umbral variants specifically, the Umbral Aniimo guide explains every method including Operation: Egg Heist drops.
