Alpha Aniimos are the overworld minibosses of Aniimo, and they play by different rules than every other creature in the game. You do not throw an Aniipod at them in the wild. You beat them in battle first, then you get your shot at catching one. There are 17 of them scattered across Idyll, each tied to a specific element and location, and every single one drops materials you will need for progression.
What are Alpha Aniimo?
Alpha Aniimos are oversized versions of existing creatures that roam fixed spots in the overworld. Their models are noticeably larger than the standard versions you encounter while exploring, which makes them easy to spot once you know the region to check. Each Alpha is tied to a specific element, from Fire and Ice to Dark and Lightning, and defeating one in battle always yields a material drop relevant to that creature.
The reward structure has two layers. Every Alpha gives a First Clear Reward the first time you defeat it, which includes 500 Safaris, 1 Irisalis Petal, 50 Glimmer, 1 Lumin Amber: Breezy Plains, and 5 element-specific Stones. Two of the later Alphas, Alpha Rookey and Alpha Luminelle, give 800 Safaris on first clear instead of 500. After that first clear, repeated runs drop the creature-specific materials listed in the table below.

Aniimo Guide: All Alpha Aniimo Locations & How to Catch Them
How to catch an Alpha Aniimo
The catch process is different from normal captures. You cannot attempt to catch an Alpha during the fight itself. Defeat the Alpha first, and the game will hand you a free Aniipod to use afterward. The catch window is time-limited, so do not walk away from the screen.
Here is the catch: every Aniipod type has an extremely low base capture rate on Alphas. A standard Aniipod, even a good one, will rarely connect. If you want a reliable catch, bring either an Aniipod Ultra or a Sparkling Cube before heading into the fight. The free Aniipod the game provides is a fallback, not a guarantee.
For a deeper look at maximizing capture rates across all creature types, the Aniimo catching guide covering Aniipod tricks and Sparkling methods breaks down exactly which tools give you the best odds.

The table below covers every Alpha, their element, exact location description, and what materials they drop on repeat runs.
Which Alphas should you prioritize?
If you are working through the main story and need element-specific Stones for evolution or crafting, the first eight Alphas in the list above are the most immediately useful. Alpha Turbo, Alpha Scorchhowl, and Alpha Glynsera cover Wind, Fire, and Ice respectively, and their Stone drops come up frequently in upgrade requirements.

The later Alphas, particularly Alpha Ignitis, Alpha Grizbo, Alpha Geoclaw, Alpha Minespine, and Alpha Irisal, drop Held Item materials instead of Stones. These are the ones worth farming repeatedly once you are building out your team's equipment. Alpha Rookey and Alpha Luminelle are worth flagging specifically because their first clear reward is 800 Safaris rather than 500, making them slightly more efficient to hit early.
If you are still building your roster before taking on these fights, the Aniimo leveling guide for fastest EXP farming covers Elite Training and Safari farming so your team is ready.
First clear rewards breakdown
Every Alpha gives the same base first-clear package with one variable: the element Stone type. Here is what to expect across the board.
The element Stones are what differentiate each first clear. Alpha Turbo gives Gust Stones, Alpha Scorchhowl gives Blaze Stones, Alpha Glynsera gives Freeze Stones, and so on down the list. Plan your Alpha hunting order around which Stones your current team needs most.
Getting started with Alpha hunting
Before heading out to find Alphas, make sure you have a solid grasp of Idyll's regions. Beast Fang Ridge alone holds three Alphas (Scorchhowl, Glynsera, and Minespine), so routing through that zone efficiently saves time. Nimbus Fields also has two (Turbo and Geoclaw), and Berylline Vale covers both Bouldus and Ignitis.
For players still getting their bearings in Idyll, the Aniimo beginner's guide covering Twining, team building, and Homeland systems is worth reading before your first Alpha encounter. And for everything else across the game, the full Aniimo guides collection has you covered.
