The Riven Tides update brought a batch of new quests to Arc Raiders, and A Wrench in the Works is one of the quickest to knock out. Assigned by Celeste, this two-objective mission sends you back to the familiar Spaceport map to dig up evidence of sabotage. Both objectives can be completed in a single raid, and since you do not need to extract to finish the quest, bringing a free loadout is a perfectly valid strategy.
What are the objectives for A Wrench in the Works?
According to the quest description provided by Celeste, there are exactly two tasks to complete:
- Search the buses near the western gate of Spaceport
- Locate the stash of sabotage supplies hidden at the Water Towers
Neither objective requires you to bring specific items into the raid, and you can split them across separate runs if needed. That said, the two locations are close enough that finishing both in one trip is very doable.
How to search the buses near the western gate
Head to the Arrival Building in the northwestern corner of Spaceport. The target bus sits on the road southwest of the Arrival Building, along a stretch of highway near the western gate. There are several buses scattered around the area, so you want the specific one confirmed by all three sources as the correct search location.
Once you find it, enter through the front door. Walk toward the driver's seat and wait for the interaction prompt to appear. Triggering that prompt counts as completing the search and advances the quest to its second objective.

Bus location near western gate
Do not waste time searching the other buses on the road. Only the specific bus southwest of the Arrival Building has the driver's seat interaction that progresses the quest.
How to locate the stash at the Water Towers
The Water Towers sit on the far western edge of the Spaceport map. From the bus location, it is a relatively short trek west, so the two objectives flow together naturally in a single run.
When you arrive, head into the northwestern tower. Inside, use the pallets, planks, and boxes to climb upward. The parkour here is straightforward: mantle up the platforms until you reach a circular landing higher up inside the tower.
At that landing, look for the "Transmit Location" interaction prompt. Activating it sends the stash's coordinates to Celeste and triggers a short dialogue from her, which marks the quest as complete.
You do not need to pick up or carry any item from the stash. Simply interacting with the transmit prompt is enough to finish the objective.

Climb to the circular landing
Does this quest require extraction?
No. You do not need to extract from Spaceport to register completion. That makes this one of the lower-stakes quests in the Riven Tides batch since losing your gear to a bad fight or a player ambush does not reset your progress on either objective. Still, completing both in one run is faster, and the two points of interest are close enough that backtracking is minimal.
Tips for finishing A Wrench in the Works efficiently
- Spawn on the western side of Spaceport when possible to cut travel time to both objectives.
- The bus interaction and the Water Tower climb are both fast. Expect to spend more time navigating between the two points than actually completing either task.
- Arc enemies patrol the Water Towers area, so clear or avoid them before attempting the climb. Falling mid-parkour during a firefight wastes time.
- If you split the run across two sessions, the completed objective carries over, so you only need to finish the remaining one.
