Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced launched with a free gift for everyone: the Shipmate Monkey, a cosmetic companion that rides along with Edward Kenway on his Caribbean adventures. Ubisoft is running a time-limited campaign called #BoardTheFeed to distribute launch rewards, and the monkey is the first item up for grabs. No purchase required, no DLC needed.
How do you get the Shipmate Monkey in AC Black Flag Resynced?
The process runs entirely through Ubisoft Connect, so you'll need an active account before you start. Here's the full redemption flow:
- Head to the official Ubisoft rewards redemption page (linked from the @assassinscreed X account).
- Enter the reward code: ASC-BFR-PMK-000
- Make sure you're signed into the correct Ubisoft Connect account tied to your game.
- Submit the code and wait for confirmation.
- Launch or return to the game. The Shipmate Monkey will be waiting for you inside.

What does the Shipmate Monkey actually do?
Honestly? Nothing mechanical. The Shipmate Monkey is a purely cosmetic companion with no combat stats, no passive bonuses, and no effect on the Jackdaw's performance. What it does do is add a genuine piracy atmosphere to Edward's journey. A monkey on deck is exactly the kind of detail that makes the Caribbean setting feel lived-in.
Think of it as a personality item rather than a power item. If you're playing through the action games genre for the atmosphere as much as the combat, the monkey fits that energy perfectly.
Your new crew member on deck
For everything else the game has to offer, the full AC Black Flag Resynced guide collection covers ship repairs, naval officers, sea shanties, and more. The monkey is a great start, but there's a lot of Caribbean left to explore.
