Fishing in a Zombies map is not something most players expect, but Black Ops 7 Zombies on Totenreich makes it work. Olaf's Cod Cranker is a fishing rod hidden somewhere on the map, and once you track it down, you can cast it into the surrounding water bodies for random loot, or stumble into more undead. There's also a separate fish easter egg on Beacon Island worth knowing about. Here's everything you need.
Where to find Olaf's Cod Cranker
Olaf's Cod Cranker spawns at one of two locations on the Totenreich map. The exact spawn appears to rotate between runs, so you'll need to check both spots if the first one doesn't pan out.
Beacon Island
The most consistent spawn is Beacon Island, where the large artillery gun sits. Near the gun, you'll find two red barn-style houses. The rod spawns between those two buildings. Walk up to it and interact to pick it up.
Fishery Island
The rod can also appear at Fishery Island, making it the second possible spawn. Since the location seems randomized, check both POIs if your first stop comes up empty.

How to use the fishing rod on Totenreich
Once you have Olaf's Cod Cranker in your inventory, find a rod stand to place it on.

Rod stand near the Lighthouse
One confirmed rod stand sits near the zipline that leads up to the Lighthouse, but rod stands appear throughout the map along the coastline and near water bodies at multiple POIs. Place the rod on a stand and wait a few seconds. When the rod turns blue, it's ready. Interact with it to reel in whatever the water decides to give you.
What can you catch?
The results are fully random. Fishing can reward you with useful items you can put to work during your current round, but it can also pull up additional zombies for you to fight. There's no way to predict which outcome you'll get, so treat every cast as a gamble.
How to solve the fish easter egg in Totenreich
Separate from the fishing rod activity, there's a small fish easter egg hiding on Beacon Island near the Arsenal upgrade machine.
You're looking for a single fish sitting inside a small bucket mounted on the wall. Interact with it to add the fish to your inventory.
If you're working through the full Totenreich easter egg chain, keep in mind that the fish collectible stands on its own as a side secret rather than a mandatory step in the main quest line.
