Control Resonant: All Map Kit Tower & Satellite Locations
Advertisement

New York in CONTROL Resonant is a corrupted, twisting mess of paranatural chaos, and stumbling through it without a map is a genuinely frustrating experience. Map Kits solve that problem. Each region has one central tower packed with satellite dishes, and three smaller satellites nearby that you need to activate before the tower unlocks the full regional map. There are seven Map Kits total, spread across every major area of the game. Here is exactly where to find them all.

How do Map Kits work?

The mechanic is consistent across every region. When you enter a new area, the Map Kit tower gets marked on your map automatically. The tower is a large structure covered in satellite dishes. Around it, three smaller satellites sit waiting with blinking red lights. Interact with each one to point it toward the tower, then head back to the tower itself and interact with it to reveal the full regional map. Simple enough in concept, but some regions make the satellites genuinely hard to spot.

tip
The Map Kit tower is always marked on your map when you enter a new region. Use that as your anchor point and search outward from there to find the three satellites.

Downtown

Downtown is where the game teaches you the system, so this one is forgiving. The tower sits in a central spot, and the three satellites are all on nearby rooftops. Two of them are on buildings connected by an FBC walkway, making them easy to hit back to back. The third is on the basketball court where the fast travel door is located. You can knock all three out in a few minutes.

Central

Head to the FBC Field Office and look for the large tower sitting on top of the orange shipping containers that have been repurposed as makeshift structures. Once you are at the tower, face northwest. All three satellites are visible within a roughly 180-degree arc directly in front of you. This is the most compact Map Kit in the game.

Evacuation Zone

Make your way to the center of the Evacuation Zone, east of the sinkhole. Climb onto the roof there to find both the Map Kit tower and a fast travel point worth activating while you are up there. From the tower, one satellite is directly north just a few meters away, a second is on the same rooftop right next to the tower, and the third is across the street to the southeast. Look for a yellow parachute draped over the edge of a nearby building as a visual landmark if you get turned around.

If you enjoy solving the environmental puzzles this region throws at you, the Downtown coffee shop appliances puzzle solution is another worthwhile detour that rewards a Health Upgrade.

West Incursion Zone

The Map Kit tower here is in a small courtyard across the road from the House of Mirrios theater. Before you touch anything, deal with the mini-boss guarding the area: Leo, a Hiss Transporter variant. Target the human body nodes around its exterior to deal heavy damage. Once Leo is down, the three satellites are straightforward. Two are on the road running alongside the theater, and the third is north of the tower.

warning
Do not try to activate the satellites while Leo is still alive. The mini-boss will interrupt you constantly, and the courtyard gives you limited room to maneuver.

The Park

The Park unlocks after completing the Evacuation Zone Jesse Sighting quest. It is a mold-heavy region, and the Spore Mothers patrolling the area make satellite activation annoying rather than dangerous. The tower sits in the middle of the region near some of the larger floating Spore Mothers.

From the Park Valley fast travel door, the first satellite is visible on a roof to your left. The second is east of the tower, down in the ravine formed by mold-infested buildings. Clear the Spore Mothers near it before activating, since they patrol that rooftop. The third is northeast of the tower, on the street beside a building with a neon "Bar" sign.

Underpass

This region opens up naturally as you progress the main story and get sent back down the sinkhole a second time. The Map Kit tower is on a floating platform in the northeast part of the Underpass, reachable by climbing the floating platforms scattered through the area.

The satellites themselves are not hard to find since they sit on the adjacent floating platforms around the central spire. The problem is the enemies. A massive Hiss Riveter and several Heavy units guard the area, and the floating platforms leave you with almost no room to dodge. Focus on the Riveter first, and only attack it when it is directly over a platform or when it pauses to expose the weak point on its back.

tip
With the Riveter, patience matters more than aggression. Forcing an attack while it is hovering over open air wastes ammo and often puts you in a bad position.

Unknown

The final Map Kit is in the endgame region simply called the Unknown, accessed via elevator after speaking with Pope. The gravity mechanics here are the real obstacle. When you arrive, jump onto the floating platform and flip the world so the street across the gap is below you, then free-fall down to reorient yourself. From there, scale the nearest building and flip the city upside down again.

The Map Kit tower is on top of a tall building in the center of the region. Use the Reach points on buildings to climb quickly or change your orientation. From the tower, look north to spot two satellites to the left and right. The third is on the roof of the building to the left of the giant "HOTEL" sign.

warning
The Unknown is the most dangerous region in the game. Have at least Aberrant Strength 100 before attempting this. Hiss, Mold, and Hedron enemies all share the space. If you are underleveled, activate each satellite and move on immediately rather than fighting.

What unlocks after completing all Map Kits?

Finishing every Map Kit means you have the full map revealed for all seven regions, which makes tracking down collectibles, side stories, and hidden areas significantly faster. Files, upgrade materials, and Dylan's drawings are scattered everywhere, and having the complete map is the difference between methodical exploration and wandering in circles.
