Pororin Village looks like it should be easy to reach. You spot it through the trees south of the Goldleaf Guildhouse in the Hernand Highlands, there are floating flower jars everywhere, and the place practically begs to be explored. Then the Shai Protectors dart you unconscious and drag you out before you get anywhere near it. Getting in requires completing a specific quest chain, and the game gives you almost no guidance on how to start it.
Where is Pororin Village located?
Pororin Forest sits in the south of the Hernand region, northwest of the Steel Mountains. According to IGN's Crimson Desert wiki, you can spot the wooded area from the estates south of the Goldleaf Guildhouse in the Hernand Highlands. The village itself is split across three distinct areas: Florindale (the smaller outer village), the main Pororin Village, and Petalton Workshop to the south.
You will encounter Pororin's residents early in the main story, but the interaction amounts to little more than a vague "visit me at my village" before they disappear. The actual path to gaining entry only opens through a specific sequence of events.
warning
Attempting to glide directly into Pororin will not work. According to IGN, the moment you land after gliding in, the Shai Protectors will knock you out anyway.
How to trigger The Unreachable Village quest
The entry process is deliberately designed around persistence. Here is the exact sequence, as documented by both IGN and PowerPyx:
- Enter Pororin Forest three separate times. Each attempt triggers a cutscene where the Shai Protectors shoot you with tranquilizer darts and drag you out. You wake up each time at Outcast's Hearth, a small campsite on the western edge of the woods.
- After the third knockout, a Shai named Arkin will be sitting nearby with a group of woodland critters. Speak with her.
- Arkin offers to help you gain entry in exchange for completing a task. This starts the quest "The Unreachable Village", tracked under Journal > Faction Quests > Pororin Forest Guardians > Trembling Woods.
info
There is a bottle of Bright Yellow Dye sitting beside the tent at Outcast's Hearth. You can grab it once you gain proper access to the village.

How to complete The Unreachable Village quest
After Arkin disappears, the quest marker will point you considerably further east. Take a wide path around Pororin Forest to avoid getting darted again, then head to the far side of the Sanctum of Penitence on the high clifftop to reach the Trembling Gorge.
Talk to Arkin and the other Shai gathered on the hill. They explain the problem: someone left an important relic on the head of a giant Tree Spirit that wanders the gorge. You need to retrieve it.
How do you climb the Tree Spirit?
The Tree Spirit is large, slow, docile, and follows a fixed patrol route through the gorge. If he is not immediately visible from where you spoke to the Shai, head east down the gorge and turn right along the river canyon. Following the trail of broken trees also works as a navigation aid. Watch for bandits on the cliff ledges above.
To reach the top of the Tree Spirit, you have two options according to the sources:
- Glide from an elevated position onto his head.
- Jump and perform 3 mid-air Force Palms (Mouse Wheel on PC) to boost yourself high enough, then land on his head.
Once on top, pick up the Pororin Relic. Return to Arkin and the group on the cliff for a cutscene, and the quest completes.
info
The Tree Spirit is not aggressive. You do not need to fight him at any point during this quest.
What do you get from unlocking Pororin Village?
The access is worth the effort. Here is what each area offers, based on IGN's breakdown:
Florindale (smaller outer village):
- Several homes to investigate
- No vendors, but multiple yellow dyes available to steal
Main Pororin Village:
- A vendor selling cosmetic costumes for pets
- A Dyehouse specializing in Yellow Dye (additional bottles can be stolen from buildings)
- A farm field on the southern edge where you can observe a group of Shais and learn the Double Jump Skill
Petalton Workshop (southern area):
- One of several Research Institutes in the game
- Unlocks quests and research projects that grant new recipes and items
- According to PowerPyx, this Research Institute offers some of the most beneficial research projects available
The Double Jump Skill alone makes the trip worthwhile for most players, and the Research Institute at Petalton Workshop is a long-term investment that pays off well into the late game.
info
Search buildings in the main village carefully. Bottles covering every yellow hue in the game can be stolen from inside, giving you a free head start on dye collection without spending anything at the Dyehouse.
