DELTARUNE has never been shy about hiding its darkest secrets behind layers of optional exploration, and Chapter 5 is no exception. After a post-launch patch, two hidden interactions became available: a direct encounter with FRIEND and a piece of secret dialogue from Pink that hints at something much worse to come. What do you need before triggering the FRIEND encounter?
You cannot walk into this blind. The FRIEND encounter only becomes available after you have the hidden Egg in your inventory. Without it, nothing happens at the location described below. Where to find FRIEND in Deltarune Chapter 5
The encounter sits just past the Way Home area, which connects the Garden and Cliff segments of the Flower Kingdom Dark World. Here is the exact sequence:
- Reach the first Platswamp statue in the Cliffs and activate it.
- Do not go up. Head right onto the next screen instead.
- Kris will begin falling immediately. Hit the ACT command as fast as possible.
- If you are quick enough, a faint blood-red diamond symbol will appear in the far-right corner of the screen.
- Interact with the symbol to trigger FRIEND's attack.
After the attack, you fall back to the start of the platforming section. If you return to that same right screen, the diamond symbol will be gone. The encounter is a one-time event.

How to unlock Pink's secret dialogue after the encounter
Triggering the FRIEND encounter is only half the puzzle. To get Pink's hidden dialogue, you need two things: the FRIEND encounter already completed, and the Chapter 5 secret boss defeated.

Once both conditions are met, walk into Pink's Shop on the Cliffs. The dialogue triggers automatically. Pink immediately notices a bite mark FRIEND left on Kris' hand. The cheerful background music cuts out entirely, replaced by silence.
