Cliffs Wheat Field ...

Every chapter of DELTARUNE hides exactly one secret Egg, and Chapter 5 keeps the tradition alive with a multi-step puzzle that most players walk right past. The Egg is optional, has no effect on story completion, but does lock out certain PlayStation trophies if collected before finishing a clean playthrough. If you are going for Platinum, bookmark this and come back after the credits roll.

Where does the Chapter 5 secret Egg hunt begin?

The hunt starts at the Cliffs area, specifically near the shop. Once you reach the shop, head right into the wheat field. Pass through the first stretch of wheat until you spot a Torii Gate. There are two of them, and the space between them is where the real work happens.

Dash back and forth repeatedly, clearing every piece of wheat in the corridor between the gates. Once everything is gone, a single stalk will begin regrowing each time you pass through. Keep destroying it. After roughly six passes, a small blue balloon floats up from the spot where the wheat kept respawning.

How to follow the blue balloon

Once the balloon appears, follow it to the left, back toward the shop direction. It leads you into a brand-new room you cannot access any other way. The room contains six flowers scattered across the floor and a dog floating around tied to a balloon.

The dog drifts over flowers in a specific sequence, sprinkling particles on each one. Your job is to interact with each flower immediately after the dog visits it. You need to do this six times total, matching the dog's order exactly. Rush to each flower the moment the dog moves on.

How to solve the watering can puzzle

Once all six flowers are activated, a Watering Can spawns on a plinth in the center of the room. Pick it up fast. The balloon dog immediately starts chasing you to reclaim it.

Your goal is to water a faded path on the left side of the room to open the route forward. Water either the top row or the bottom row of the path rather than trying to cover everything. Focusing on one row completes the task faster and gives the dog less time to intercept you.

Where is the mysterious man and how do you get the Egg?

After watering the path, you pass through into a final room containing a red tree. Walk behind it. A mysterious man is hidden at the back and may not be immediately visible, but you can interact with him by pressing the action button near the rear of the tree.

He will offer you the Egg. Selecting Yes adds the Chapter 5 secret Egg to your collection. Selecting No skips it entirely.

If you have already collected all Eggs from previous chapters before reaching this one, the mysterious man's dialogue changes. Instead of pointing toward more Eggs in the distance, he tells you to stop looking for him and shares information about Kris. That alternate dialogue is the real reward for completionists.

There is only one secret Egg in Chapter 5. The mysterious man's comment about more Eggs being out there refers to ones from earlier chapters you may have missed, not additional hidden collectibles in this chapter.

For everything else happening in this chapter, the Deltarune Chapter 5 complete walkthrough covers the honey toast opening, castle puzzles, the festival, and the Dark World flower shop in full detail.
