DELTARUNE Chapter 5 picks up right where the earlier chapters left off, and you can carry your previous save file into it without any issues. The chapter opens in a surprisingly domestic setting before pulling you back into the Dark World, and it wastes no time layering in story beats that fans of the series have been waiting on. After testing the full chapter from the opening room to the point where Flowery appears, here is everything you need to know.
How do you start Chapter 5?
The chapter begins with Kris jumping into the starting room and collecting the first heart. Move into the next room, where you are tasked with making honey toast for Toriel. Walk over to the toaster, interact with it to start the process, then wait 10 seconds for the toast to finish.
Hand the finished honey toast to Toriel. She will share a plan to surprise Kris's brother, and once that conversation wraps up, you are free to head outside.

How do you get to the school and the Dark World entrance?
From outside the house, go straight, take a right, then follow the path heading right again. Along the way, you will overhear a conversation involving the Flower King, who talks about Toriel's finances and his hopes of getting his job back if things go well with Carol. You can listen to the full exchange or move on.
Take the path heading south, then go right until the school comes into view. Head straight through the building and find the black door that leads into the realm. Ralsei and Lancer are the first characters you meet on the other side.

How do you solve the castle wall puzzle?
Once inside the castle, you hit a wall-climbing puzzle. The mechanic is straightforward: move upward while avoiding the bars that descend toward you. Getting caught by a bar resets your progress, either partially or entirely depending on how far you have climbed. Take your time and learn the timing before committing to longer runs.
At the top, a mysterious character appears and promises to help if anyone gives you trouble. After the castle, swing by the store if you want to pick up items, and check in with your recruits at the cafe.
What choices come up in the castle area?
Head north from the castle and you will find Lancer, who asks you to design a dress for Susie. There is a wide list of options and none of them lead to a bad outcome, so pick whatever fits your vision for her.
Continue to Ralsei's room, where Susie is already waiting. The room is empty, but Susie promises that she and Kris will help fill it. You can soothe Ralsei by telling her to be herself. Susie then reappears with a garbage bin, declaring it the first piece of furniture.
Exit back through the school. Noelle is waiting outside. After a short exchange between Noelle and Susie, Susie asks Kris to lead the way, and both characters start following you.

How does the festival section work?
Head south to find Noelle's dad working on decorations for the Town Hall. Talk to him to learn where Noelle's mom is. From there, move toward the gate marked "Festival" and look to the left. The black gate that was locked before is now open.
Past the gate, the festival expands into a larger area with several things to do:
The beach scene between Susie and Noelle is one of the chapter's highlights. It starts with Susie throwing Noelle's phone, but the moment that follows is genuinely touching. The scene cuts short when Noelle gets a call from her mom saying her dad has fallen off a ladder. By the time Susie returns to where Noelle was standing, Noelle is already gone.
How do you enter the Dark World flower shop?
Back with Susie and Kris, Kris is visibly shaken. While Susie goes inside to buy flowers, Kris drops his heart, then retrieves it as a Dark World suddenly opens up inside his father's flower shop. Susie pushes Kris into the realm.
Inside, they find Kris's dad in conversation with someone. This leads into a cutscene introducing Flowery, a character who is clearly close to Kris's dad. Flowery makes a flower grow directly out of Susie's hand, which is as strange as it sounds.
After Kris's dad disappears, Kris and Susie give chase. Along the path, you pass four wardrobes. The first three contain nothing useful, but the fourth wardrobe has Ralsei hidden inside. Open it to add Ralsei to your party, then continue forward to find Flowery.
Chapter 5 is the longest chapter yet in terms of story beats packed into the overworld sections, and the shift from the festival's lighter tone to the Dark World flower shop is one of the more effective tonal swings in the series so far. For more on this RPG games series and what makes its structure tick, the rest of the chapter continues past the Flowery encounter.
