Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph Stasis Hunter Build Guide

Use the Mask of Fealty to freeze the field with Stasis crystals.

Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph has brought lots of tools into play that increase the potency of Stasis builds. Introduced in the Beyond Light expansion, the Stasis element is all about control , freezing enemies to stop them from moving and dealing massive damage when they shatter. With the Mask of Fealty, Hunters are able to keep everything constantly covered in Stasis crystals, which they can capitalize on by shattering them. This build guide will turn any Hunter into a warrior that bites like the winter wind.

Best Weapons

Ice Breaker is the Exotic weapon of choice for this build. Its Exotic trait No Backpack gives a chance of granting ammo after kills with other weapons and abilities, providing excellent ammo economy. It also deals increased damage against enemies affected by Stasis , shattering frozen enemies with Ice Breaker triggers an ignition. Use abilities to freeze high-value targets like Champions and bosses, then finish them with Ice Breaker to trigger massive shattering and ignition damage. Players who do not yet own Ice Breaker can acquire it by completing the Vesper's Host dungeon.

In the Kinetic slot, prioritize Stasis weapons with Headstone or Crystaline Corpsebloom. Both perks generate Stasis crystals on enemy defeats, which are valuable to this build for dealing damage, granting Frost Armor, and regenerating Melee energy. Strong options include Spare Rations from Gambit or Unending Tempest from the Crucible.

In the Heavy slot, equip a Grenade Launcher. This build uses the Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel artifact, which includes mods that make Grenade Launchers more effective for both burst and boss damage. Recommended options are Edge Transit from Onslaught or Cry Mutiny from Solo Ops.

Best Armor

Mask of Fealty

Mask of Fealty upgrades the Withering Blade Melee Ability. When Withering Blade hits an enemy or bounces off a surface, it creates a small Stasis crystal. Shattering a crystal or enemy with Withering Blade releases additional crystals that hit nearby enemies and generate even more crystals. This rapid crystal generation can clear groups of enemies quickly or deliver large bursts of shattering damage to a single target.

Seventh Seraph Armor

The Seventh Seraph armor set from the Cosmodrome fills a critical gap in this build: healing. The two-piece set bonus causes shattering crystals and enemies to grant stacks of Warmind Charges, boosting Grenade and Melee stats. The four-piece bonus is what ties everything together , destroying Stasis crystals while Warmind Charges are active releases a Solar detonation that damages enemies and heals allies. Because crystals are constantly being created and destroyed, Warmind Charges will almost always be active, providing continuous healing throughout a fight.

tip
In an emergency, throw a Withering Blade at the ground and immediately break the resulting crystal for instant healing on the spot.

Focus on maximizing the Melee stat first, then the Class stat. Since this build revolves around a Melee Ability, pushing the Melee stat above 100 gives Withering Blade its shortest possible cooldown and increases its damage. The Class stat is important because Gambler's Dodge restores Melee Ability energy, so a low cooldown is essential. Raising the Class stat above 100 also provides a small overshield that can be crucial for survival in tougher content.

Armor Mods

Run a three-cost Melee stat mod on each armor piece unless Class stat mods are needed to reach 100. The recommended mods for each slot are as follows:

  • Head: Harmonic Siphon, Hands On, Hands On , Harmonic Siphon generates Orbs of Power from Stasis weapon final blows; both copies of Hands On provide Super energy from Melee final blows.
  • Arms: Heavy Handed, Focusing Strike, Melee Font , Melee final blows generate an Orb of Power and reduce Class Ability cooldown; stacks of Armor Charge boost the Melee stat.
  • Chest: Charged Up, Sniper Damage Resistance, any Elemental Resistance , Charged Up grants an extra Armor Charge stack; Sniper Damage Resistance reduces damage from ranged enemies; the final slot should be filled with an Elemental Resistance mod suited to the activity.
  • Legs: Better Already, Elemental Charge, Absolution , Picking up an Orb of Power begins health regeneration and grants ability energy to all uncharged abilities; picking up Stasis shards grants an increasing chance of providing Armor Charge.
  • Class Item: Time Dilation, Bomber, Reaper , Decaying Armor Charge lasts five seconds longer; dodging recharges Grenade energy and causes the next final blow to spawn an Orb of Power.

Best Subclass Loadout

Abilities

The Revenant subclass is the Stasis subclass for Hunters. Its Super, Silence and Squall, creates a Stasis tornado that freezes and slows enemies while dealing damage over time. Use Gambler's Dodge to refresh the Withering Blade Melee Ability , an ice shuriken that holds two charges and bounces off walls. For the Grenade slot, the Duskfield Grenade is the recommended choice, repeatedly freezing enemies when Silence and Squall is unavailable so that Ice Breaker can continue triggering ignitions.

Aspects

Grim Harvest is the most important Aspect in this build. It generates Stasis shards from defeating frozen combatants, and those shards restore Melee energy when picked up. Grim Harvest also allows Stasis shards to grant Frost Armor, which reduces incoming damage. Frost Armor in turn enables Stasis weapons to shatter crystals and enemies, and grants Class Ability energy when the player takes damage.

The second Aspect is Shatterdive, which causes the Hunter to descend and shatter nearby enemies and crystals at the press of a dedicated button. Shattering targets with Shatterdive grants Frost Armor.

Fragments

Fissures amplifies shattering damage for burst damage against large enemies and Champions. Rime improves Frost Armor to increase survivability and ability regeneration from Grim Harvest. Refraction boosts Class Ability regeneration, Conduction makes it easier to collect shards and restore Melee energy, and Shards accelerates Grenade regeneration.

Best Artifact and Loadout

The Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel provides the strongest Stasis support for Revenant Hunters and improves Grenade Launcher damage output.

Stasis Synergies

  • Wind Chill: Rapid Stasis weapon hits grant Frost Armor; hits against slowed or frozen targets create a Stasis shard.
  • Crystalline Converter: After using the Class Ability, the next Stasis weapon final blow creates a Stasis shard. Stasis shards also build Crystalline Converter stacks, causing the next Stasis melee hit to create Stasis crystals based on the number of stacks.
  • Frost Renewal: While Frost Armor is active, taking critical damage freezes nearby enemies and grants Frost Armor to all nearby allies.
  • Hail the Storm: Shattering damage is increased; shattering crystals releases shards of ice that damage and slow nearby enemies.
  • Brain Freeze: Frozen combatants release fog that slows nearby enemies not already affected.

Grenade Launcher Synergies

  • Weakened Clear: When using a Grenade Launcher, damaging a boss or Champion or breaking a shield reloads stowed weapons and weakens the target.
  • Kinetic Impacts: Sustained Grenade Launcher damage increases reload speed and triggers a Kinetic shockwave that can stun Unstoppable Champions.
