Disney Dreamlight Valley Guide: How to Cook a Hedgehog Treat

The Interlude quests scattered across Honeyglow Woods are some of the trickier tasks in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Interlude 4: Curiosity Satisfied is a good example of why. The quest asks you to cook a Hedgehog Treat for a distressed hedgehog, but the recipe isn't handed to you directly. Instead, you get a riddle. Miss one clue and you'll waste ingredients on a dish that doesn't count.

What is the Hedgehog Treat riddle telling you?

Before you touch the cooking pot, walk over to the sparkling instructions sitting on the left side of the cooking station. Reading them carefully saves you a lot of backtracking.

Here's what each line of the riddle is actually telling you:

  • "Small appetites, only three" means this is a three-star recipe with exactly three ingredients. Don't add a fourth.
  • "Lettuce is tasty, but Basil's a bore" tells you to include Lettuce and skip Basil entirely.
  • "Hedgehogs love Pattypan the most" points directly to Golden Pattypan as a required ingredient.
  • "Long for mushrooms... truffle kinds" confirms you need Truffles, specifically the ones found growing wild in Honeyglow Woods.
  • "Fish makes them angry" is a hard warning. No fish ingredients, period.

What are the Hedgehog Treat ingredients?

Once you've decoded the riddle, the recipe is straightforward. You need exactly:

Loading table...

All three ingredients are already waiting for you on the table next to the cooking pot. You don't need to forage or farm anything before attempting this recipe during the quest.

How to cook the Hedgehog Treat

  1. Pick up one Golden Pattypan, one Lettuce, and one Truffle from the table beside the cooking station.
  2. Approach the cooking pot and open it.
  3. Add all three ingredients and confirm.
  4. The result should be a three-star Hedgehog Treat.

Does this recipe carry over after the quest?

The Hedgehog Treat is a quest-exclusive dish tied to Interlude 4. Once the quest is complete, you won't be able to cook it again, and it doesn't appear in the standard Honeyglow Woods recipe list. This also means it won't count toward completing all Honeyglow Woods recipes.

important
Don't confuse this recipe with the food used to feed regular Hedgehog Companions wandering around Honeyglow Woods. Those are two completely separate mechanics. What works for companion feeding has nothing to do with this quest dish.

For more on interacting with the hedgehog animals in this area, the guide to finding and feeding hedgehog companions covers their locations and preferred foods in detail.

What comes next after Interlude 4?

Finishing Curiosity Satisfied opens up more Honeyglow Woods content. The area has a solid run of quests and collectibles worth tackling in sequence. If you're working through the main story chapters alongside the Interlude quests, the Chapter 4: A Tail Tale walkthrough walks you through finding Eeyore and recovering his tail in Gloommeadow.

For players juggling Star Path duties at the same time, cooking quests tend to overlap well. The guide to cooking with Pumpkin or Corn is worth bookmarking if you're chasing Elements of Nature Star Path tokens between story missions.

There's plenty more to work through in Honeyglow Woods once Interlude 4 is done. Check the full Disney Dreamlight Valley guides collection for walkthroughs on Blueprints, hidden green chests, and every other quest in the area.
