How To Unlock Winnie The Pooh, Eeyore, And Piglet In DDV

Disney Dreamlight Valley Chapter 4: A Tail Tale sends you straight into Gloommeadow to meet one of the most lovably gloomy characters in the Hundred Acre Wood. Eeyore has lost his tail, hedgehogs have dammed a river, and Winnie the Pooh is determined to help. The quest moves through several distinct phases, so knowing exactly what to gather and where to look saves a lot of backtracking.

How to start Chapter 4: A Tail Tale

This quest unlocks immediately after finishing the Interlude: The Misplaced Honey walkthrough, which hands you the resources needed to open Gloommeadow. Once that interlude wraps up, head north through the new biome to find Eeyore.

tip
The Wishing Well near the entrance to Gloommeadow can be rebuilt for 2,500 star coins. It's optional for this quest, but worth noting if you want to restore the area.

What do you need to craft the hedgehog house?

After talking to Eeyore about his missing tail, you'll find the nearby riverbed blocked by a dam the hedgehogs built. Before you can clear it, everyone agrees to build the hedgehogs a proper home first. Here are the exact materials required:

Hardwood, Soft Limestone, and White and Pink Foxglove are all available in the two biomes you've unlocked at this point, so none of those should take long to collect. Juniper Berries are the one exception. They only grow on berry bushes inside Gloommeadow, and new batches respawn every 25 minutes if you've already cleared the bushes.

Once you have everything, use the crafting station east of the Wishing Well to build the hedgehog companion house. Pull it from your Furniture Menu and place it down to trigger the next step.

tip
If you're short on Juniper Berries, do a full loop of Gloommeadow's berry bushes before waiting for respawns. The biome is small enough that one pass usually covers most of what you need.

How do you feed a hedgehog in Chapter 4?

With the house placed, you need to feed a hedgehog some fruit or Golden Honey to progress. Hedgehogs behave differently from standard companions: approach one and it may curl into a ball. Wait for it to relax before offering food, or you'll waste the item.

Hedgehog availability follows a strict schedule based on your local time:

The Classic Hedgehog is your safest target since it's always present. If you're playing in the morning, the Green Hedgehog is also available. Once you've fed one, return to Eeyore to break the debris blocking the river.

warning
Don't approach a curled hedgehog and spam the interact button. It won't accept food while defensive. Step back, let it uncurl, then move in slowly.

Finding Eeyore's tail: where is it?

Clearing the river reveals two items floating in the water. Fish both out before heading back to Eeyore. He's not impressed with either as a substitute tail, which sends Pooh off to search for another option.

Pooh returns with a small umbrella dug from the ground. Bring it to Eeyore to try out. He actually likes this one, and Pooh celebrates by suggesting a round of Pooh Sticks at the bridge. Interact with the sign in front of the bridge to play.

After the game, Eeyore's actual tail turns up under the bridge. Fish it out and return it to him to wrap up the quest.

What comes after A Tail Tale?

Handing Eeyore back his tail completes Chapter 4 and kicks off Chapter 5: The Big Red Monster immediately. The Honeyglow Woods storyline keeps building, so staying on top of the quest chain matters if you want to keep pace with the narrative.

For more help with this questline, the Chapter 2: About Thought, Fog, and Light walkthrough covers the earlier steps of clearing Drowsybloom Acre and crafting the Honeyglow Elixir. The full Disney Dreamlight Valley guide collection has walkthroughs for every quest in the game if you need to catch up on anything else.
