Dressmaker packs 32 achievements into what looks like a relaxed fashion sim, and a surprising number of them will slip past you if you're not paying attention. Seven are missable outright, one depends on a single dialogue choice you can easily blow through, and a handful require crafting actions that have no obvious prompts. The good news: everything is achievable in a single playthrough that runs roughly 40 to 50 hours.
Achievement overview
Before getting into specifics, here's the shape of the list. Dressmaker's 32 achievements split into two broad categories: story-based unlocks tied to character commissions and events, and interactive unlocks tied to crafting actions or dialogue choices.
| Category | Count | Missable? |
|---|---|---|
| Character order completions | 10 | Yes, some |
| Event dress completions | 14 | Yes, some |
| Crafting and dialogue actions | 8 | Yes, several |
| Total | 32 | 7 missable |

Track commissions carefully
What are the missable achievements in Dressmaker?
Seven achievements can be permanently missed if you skip the wrong conversation or forget to complete a full event set before moving on. The most dangerous one is Sucker for Punishment, which requires choosing "Leech" when Vivian asks you about animals during her third order (delivered by the pigeon). Pick any other option and the achievement is gone for that run.
The other missable achievements come from incomplete event sets. The game doesn't always make it obvious when an event is fully finished, so players end up moving forward thinking they're done when one or two dresses are still outstanding. Check every client for event-specific requests, not just the main quest flag.
Character order achievements
Ten achievements come from completing every major commission for a specific character. These unlock progressively as you work through the story, but each character has more commissions than just the story-critical ones. Make sure you're finishing all of a character's major orders, not just the ones the game pushes you toward.
- Good Girl Gone Vlad - Complete all of Vivian's major orders
- Swan Song - Complete all of Edith's major orders
- Go Off, Queen! - Complete all of Aldora's major commissions
- Caw Evermore - Complete all of Alice's major orders
- Prudence and Prejudice - Complete all of Prudence's major orders
- Snitches Get Stitches - Complete all of Dorothy's major orders
- A Rose By Any Other Name - Complete all of Rose's major orders
- Draw to Hue - Complete all of Priya's major orders
- G.O.A.T - Complete all of Narue's major orders
- Reap What You Sew - Complete all of Fiona's major orders

Dressmaker Guide: All Achievements & How to Unlock Them
Event dress achievements
Fourteen achievements require completing the full dress set for a specific in-game event. The pattern is consistent: every dress tied to that event from every client needs to be finished, not just the ones flagged as story progress.
- Laid to Dress - All dresses for the Duke's funeral (multiple clients contribute requests)
- Style Goals - All dresses for the Women's Sporting Day Contest
- Dart Deco - All dresses for Priya's exhibition opening
- Rooting for You - All dresses for the Market Fair
- Hedge Your Bets - All dresses for the Hedge Maze exploration
- Don't Wanna Miss a Spring - All dresses for Spring Fate
- Simply Beastly - All dresses for the Twillford Pet Show
- Smells Like Sateen Spirit - All dresses for Alice's seance
- Newlythreads - All dresses for Duke Hassan's wedding
- A Midsummer Night's Seam - All dresses for the stargazing activity
- Extrav-organza - All dresses for the Summer Ball
- On a High Note - All dresses for Edith's Opera gala
- Crowning Glory - All dresses for the coronation
- Don We Now Our Gay Apparel - All dresses for the other wedding
Note that Edith has both a character order achievement (Swan Song) and a separate event achievement (On a High Note) for her Opera gala. They track different things, so finishing one doesn't automatically progress the other.
How do the crafting and dialogue achievements work?
These eight achievements require deliberate actions outside of normal commission flow. A few are easy to stumble into, but most need a plan.
You've Got Mail
Finish Dorothy's first dress. Completing it triggers Berty's appearance, which unlocks the achievement automatically.
Sucker for Punishment
During Vivian's animal conversation (which comes up around her third order, delivered by pigeon), choose "Leech" when prompted. Any other answer locks you out for the run.
Birds of a Feather, Frock Together
Complete every commission delivered through the pigeon. Don't dismiss or ignore pigeon deliveries as they appear throughout the story.
Sew Long
Create the Ruffle Skirt cloth design for the first time. The design doesn't need to be made for a sale; completing it as part of any project counts.
99 Problems But a Stitch Ain't One
Finish a dress at 100% quality. Every cut detail and stitched section needs to be perfect. If you're struggling to hit 100%, the game's assistance option in settings can help.
Trim and Proper
Use more than 50 meters of trim on a single dress, then sell it. This is much easier once you're not watching every coin. One source notes it can be knocked out during Aldora's first order if you want to combine it with story progress.
Harder Than It Seams
Place more than 300 accessories on a single dress and then sell it. The sell step is required; leaving the dress in your workshop after loading it up won't trigger the unlock. A cheap approach: buy 300 buttons at 1 coin each, pile them onto a simple dress, and sell it.
Opulence and Excess
Spend more than 5,000 gold on a single successful dress by buying the most expensive materials and appliances available. Save this for late in the game when your coin reserves are comfortable.

One-playthrough tips
The 40 to 50 hour estimate assumes you're being thorough rather than rushing. A few habits will keep you on track without needing a second run.
Check every client after each major story beat. Event achievements require every dress from every relevant client, and new requests can appear from characters you've already been working with. Don't assume an event is complete just because the main story moved on.
Keep an eye on pigeon deliveries throughout the entire game. Birds of a Feather, Frock Together requires completing all pigeon orders, and they appear at irregular intervals. Missing one early can mean a failed achievement with no obvious indication until much later.
For the crafting achievements, none of them require a specific order. You can knock out Trim and Proper and Harder Than It Seams on throwaway dresses at any point, as long as you sell the finished product. The 300-accessory dress in particular is worth doing intentionally rather than hoping it happens organically.
For more help with the game, the Dressmaker guides collection covers additional mechanics beyond achievements. If you enjoy this style of casual games, there's a full genre library worth exploring once you've wrapped up your completionist run.
