Kenneth Haight is one of those NPCs who announces himself loudly from atop a ruined stone arch in Limgrave, demanding rescue with the confidence of someone who has absolutely no power to back it up. His questline is short by ELDEN RING standards, but it ties directly into Nepheli Loux's arc and ends with a satisfying payoff inside Stormveil Castle. Where to find Kenneth Haight
Kenneth stands on a crumbled stone structure northeast of the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace in Limgrave. You can hear him before you see him. He's shouting for help, calling himself a servant of the true Order and the rightful ruler of Limgrave. Speak to him and he'll ask you to retake Fort Haight, which Godrick's forces have seized.

How to clear Fort Haight
Getting there without a fight you don't want
Fort Haight sits in the southeast corner of Limgrave, east of Mistwood. The most direct route runs through Mistwood itself, but large bears roam that area and can ruin your day early on. Hugging the eastern cliffs lets you bypass them entirely. There's also a Fort Haight West Site of Grace near the fort, so fast travel is an option if you've touched it previously.
Before entering the fort proper, check the area just south of the entrance path. A golden sapling holds a Golden Seed you can grab without alerting any enemies if you move carefully.
Fighting through the fort
A mounted crossbow covers the front approach, so come in from the sides and pick off guards one at a time. A large enemy patrols between the fort interior and the small enemies outside. You can avoid engaging it until you're ready.
Once you step inside, stealth stops working. The enemies inside will spot you the moment you pass through the entrance. Summon Spirit Ashes here if you have them. Clear every enemy in the fort, including the Lordsworn Knight near the top. That knight drops the Ash of War: Bloody Slash, one of the better early-game Ashes of War for bleed builds. Don't skip him.
While working your way up, enter the southeast tower and climb to the top. A chest there holds the Dectus Medallion (Left), which you'll need much later to activate the Grand Lift of Dectus.

What do you get for helping Kenneth Haight?
Return to Kenneth after clearing the fort and he rewards you with an Erdsteel Dagger. This dagger is traditionally carried by Erdtree royalty, which fits Kenneth's insistence on his noble lineage. Talk to him again after receiving it and you'll get the option to pledge your service to him. Accept this to advance his questline.
Returning to Fort Haight as a knight
After you pledge your service, Kenneth asks you to return to Fort Haight to formally receive your knighthood. The Demi-Humans have moved in by this point. Clear them out, then find Kenneth on the fort's ramparts. He'll admit his authority in Limgrave is essentially ceremonial and that he's searching for a true heir to rule the region.
How does Kenneth Haight's quest end?
The final stage of Kenneth's arc was added in Patch 1.03 and depends on completing Nepheli Loux's questline. Nepheli's quest is lengthy and requires defeating Morgott the Omen King in Leyndell as its final step.
Once Nepheli's questline is finished, Kenneth moves to Godrick's throne room in Stormveil Castle. Speak to him there and he'll tell you he's selected Lady Nepheli as the new ruler of Limgrave. He's cheerful about it, genuinely pleased to have found a worthy lord for the region.
One thing worth knowing: completing Kenneth's questline doesn't unlock any additional reward beyond the dialogue. Unlike Nepheli or Gostoc, there's no item tied to his conclusion. You can also skip his questline entirely and still obtain the Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone from Nepheli's arc. Kenneth's story is worth doing for the lore and the Erdsteel Dagger, not for a big payoff at the end.
Kenneth Haight lore and trivia
Kenneth presents himself as next in line for rulership of Limgrave, a claim that sounds more credible once you see the Erdsteel Dagger he hands over. That weapon is a marker of Erdtree nobility. His Ruler's Robe armor can be found separately on the Altus Plateau, sitting on a fallen carriage near the Abandoned Coffin Site of Grace, just north of the elevator after defeating Magma Wyrm Makar. He's not wearing it when you find him, which says something about his current circumstances.
His questline is a small but well-constructed piece of the soulslike games tradition of NPCs whose ambitions outrun their actual power, ending in something quieter and more honest than they started.
