Overview
Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School is a puzzle adventure developed by Coin Crew Games and published by iam8bit Presents. Its new campaign takes place at a secretive institution that teaches escape artistry, combining formal lessons with opportunities to investigate the school beyond the classroom.
The game is available on Windows PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. The sequel expands the original's room-based structure into an explorable campus, making the spaces between lessons part of the puzzle-solving experience instead of simply a backdrop for the next assignment.
Escape rooms beyond the classroom
Veteran puzzle designers build the campaign's handcrafted escape rooms around a curriculum with little regard for student safety. The challenges mix academic milestones with exaggerated physical danger:
- Spiked ceiling hazards
- 100-foot drops
- Final exam challenges
- Dangerous campus traps
The open-world school hub contains secret passages and hidden tunnels. Exploration extends beyond entering a designated room and completing its test; the Academy itself contains places to investigate between classes.
Students can also spend downtime with classmates. Those quieter moments sit alongside the hazardous lessons, giving the setting room for student life without removing its central obsession with escape puzzles.
Escape-room challenges meet campus exploration.

A mystery rooted in the school's founding
The main story concerns a conspiracy tied to the Academy's origins. The investigation examines the institution itself, placing questions about its history alongside the immediate problems inside its classrooms.
New teachers join returning characters from the first game. Character-driven storylines give the expanded curriculum a personal dimension, while puzzle-filled side quests provide additional activities outside the central mystery.
The narrative accommodates both new students and returning players. Familiar faces provide continuity, but the sequel introduces a new story centered on discoveries about the school's founding and nature.
The Academy's history anchors its puzzle-adventure story.

Can Escape Academy 2 be played solo or in co-op?
Escape Academy 2 supports solo play, online co-op, and local split-screen co-op. Players can tackle its puzzles independently or collaborate with a partner remotely or on the couch.
Shared play gives partners room to compare interpretations and discuss possible solutions. The cooperation centers on working through escape-room problems, bringing the conversational side of a physical escape room into the digital format.
The optional No-Timer Mode removes countdown pressure. Players can choose a measured pace for examining puzzles instead of working against the clock, whether solving alone or collaborating.
A rebuilt school and a new soundtrack
The sequel rebuilds the Academy's visual presentation with new environments and additional environmental detail. Professors and pupils also receive new outfits, updating the school's cast alongside its surroundings.
DJ Doseone returns with an original soundtrack. The new music accompanies both the school's strange curriculum and the time spent puzzling through its challenges.
The presentation pairs a school-life setting with lethal escape-room scenarios. Ordinary academic fixtures, including exams, become part of a puzzle adventure where campus discovery and classroom danger share the same space.
