Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Guide: How to Get the Striker Sprite

The Sprite collection in Fortnite keeps growing with each update, and the Striker Sprite is one of the more interesting additions because you can't just stumble across it in a chest. This one requires you to actually play soccer on the island, which is either a fun detour or a mild inconvenience depending on how much you enjoy being shot at while trying to kick a ball into a net.

How to get the Striker Sprite in Fortnite

Unlike most Sprites that drop from Sprite Chests or random loot around the map, the Striker Sprite has a dedicated unlock method tied to a specific POI. Here's exactly what you need to do.

Scoring a goal at the Soccer Pitch

  1. Travel to the Soccer Pitch POI. This is an unnamed location in the southwest corner of the map, on a small island sitting slightly south of Heatwave Harbor and west of Sunken Shores. It won't appear as a labeled marker on your map, but the field itself is easy to spot once you zoom into that area.
  2. Find the soccer ball. Head onto the field and look for the ball near the center. Other players may have already kicked it around, so check the full pitch if it's not immediately visible.
  3. Kick the ball into a goal. Run directly at the ball to kick it. Aim toward either net at the ends of the field.
  4. Collect your Striker Sprite. The moment the ball crosses the goal line, confetti appears near the net and a Striker Sprite spawns on the ground. Pick it up.
  5. Extract it immediately. There's an Extraction Point in the middle of the Soccer Pitch POI. Call it in before you start playing for the goal so it's ready the moment you grab the Sprite.

Can you get the Striker Sprite from chests?

The short answer is no, not reliably. The guaranteed method is scoring a goal at the Soccer Pitch. While the Striker Sprite can technically appear in Sprite Chests or as a random loot drop elsewhere on the map, this is not confirmed and should not be counted on. If you want it in your collection, head to the pitch.

There are two other ways to end up with one:

  • Eliminate a player who has the Striker Sprite equipped or in their inventory.
  • Pick it up if another player drops it, which makes trading with friends a viable shortcut.

What does the Striker Sprite do?

The Striker Sprite grants the Overdrive effect whenever you mantle, hurdle, or wall scramble. Overdrive boosts your weapon firing speed, reload time, and movement speed simultaneously. That combination makes it genuinely strong in close-quarters fights where mobility and reload windows matter most.

What to do after getting the Striker Sprite

Once the Sprite is extracted and locked into your collection, it's yours permanently. Even if you lose the physical Sprite in a match, you can repurchase it from the Sprite store using Sprite Dust. For a full walkthrough on that process, the guide on recovering lost Sprites covers exactly what to do.

From here, there's plenty left to chase. Gold Sprites offer XP bonuses on top of their standard abilities, and if you're working toward a full collection, knowing where Sprite Chests spawn across the island will save you a lot of time. The Sprite Chest locations guide maps out every known spawn point and the most efficient farming routes.
