The Sinister Strip is one of the more rewarding POIs in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and tucked inside one of its buildings is a Locked Prison Cell that most players run straight past. Solve the puzzle correctly and you walk away with two Rare Chests, two Regular Chests, and a shot at one of the season's most broken mobility items. Here's exactly how to do it without getting caught in the sewers.
Where is the Sinister Strip prison cell?
Head to the building directly opposite the large Sprite structure at Sinister Strip. Enter the building and take the stairs down from the first floor. The Locked Prison Cell is at the bottom, behind a reinforced door. You'll immediately spot two thick red wires running away from either side of the door. Those wires are your breadcrumbs.

How to open the Sinister Strip Locked Prison Cell
Opening the cell requires deactivating two separate power grids, one on each side of the door. The process is the same for both: follow the wire, navigate the sewer, open a vent, deactivate the grid.
Step 1: Follow the left wire
Stand at the locked door and trace the wire that runs to the left. Drop down and follow it through the sewer tunnels. The path branches at several points, but the wire itself never lies. Keep it in sight and you won't get lost. Eventually you'll hit a vent, open it, pass through, and reach the first power grid. Interact with it to deactivate.

Step 2: Follow the right wire
Return to the cell door and now trace the wire running to the right. Follow the same logic through the sewer. You'll pass a gnome sitting in the tunnel, which is a handy landmark confirming you're on the correct path. Find the second vent, open it, and deactivate the second power grid.
Step 3: Collect the loot
With both grids off, the cell door opens. Inside you'll find:
- 2x Rare Chests
- 2x Regular Chests
- 1x random Sprite
The Rare Chests have an elevated chance to drop a Vault Key, which can unlock one of the eight vaults scattered across the island. There's also a meaningful chance one of them contains the Limitless Seven Sliders, an item that lets you slide indefinitely. After testing it in several matches, the slide mechanic is genuinely overpowered: you can chain movement to escape zone, close distance on enemies, and pull off mid-slide shots that are hard to respond to.
What is the Limitless Seven Sliders and why does it matter?
The Limitless Seven Sliders is a mobility item that removes the normal cap on sliding. Standard sliding in Fortnite has a hard distance limit, but this item lets you slide continuously. The practical applications are significant: repositioning during storm phases, escaping third-party situations, and maintaining movement speed while aiming. It's the kind of item that changes how you approach rotations entirely, and the Sinister Strip prison cell is one of the more reliable places to find it.
