Genshin Impact Nefer materials, kit ...

Nefer is a 5-star Dendro Catalyst released in Genshin Impact on October 22, 2025. She heads the Curatorium of Secrets in Nod-Krai and brings that same calculating precision to combat. Her entire damage identity revolves around Lunar-Bloom, a superior variant of Bloom that retains the ability to CRIT, making her one of the few reaction-based DPS units who can actually build toward a proper CRIT ratio. She reruns in Version 6.5 Phase 2 from April 28 to May 19, 2026, alongside Lauma's rerun banner, and that pairing is not a coincidence.

How does Nefer's kit actually work?

Nefer's damage loop is tighter than most on-field DPS units, and understanding it before building her saves a lot of wasted resin.

Nefer's Shadow Dance activation

The Shadow Dance and Phantasm Performance loop

Her Elemental Skill, Senet Strategy: Dance of a Thousand Nights, launches Nefer forward and drops her into the Shadow Dance state. While in this state, she replaces standard Charged Attacks with Phantasm Performance, a special attack that consumes Verdant Dew rather than Stamina. Each Phantasm Performance instance deals Lunar-Bloom damage, and that is where the majority of her DPS comes from according to Game8's build documentation.

Her Elemental Burst, Sacred Vow: True Eye's Phantasm, deals AoE Dendro damage that scales with the Veil of Falsehood stacks she builds during her Skill window. Use it as a rotation closer after stacking up, not as an opener.

Seeds of Deceit and Ascendant Gleam

Nefer's Passive Talent A Wager of Moonlight is the key mechanic to understand. When the party's Moonsign reaches Ascendant Gleam (which requires at least one Nod-Krai character), her Elemental Skill converts existing Dendro Cores on the field into Seeds of Deceit. These seeds cannot trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon and will not detonate on their own. Instead, Nefer absorbs them during Phantasm Performance, gaining Veil of Falsehood stacks. At 3 stacks, her Elemental Mastery increases by 100 for 8 seconds.

Her third Passive, Moonsign Benediction: Dusklit Eaves, converts Bloom reactions triggered by the team into Lunar-Bloom reactions and raises the party's Moonsign by 1 level. Every point of Elemental Mastery she has increases Lunar-Bloom's base damage by 0.0175%, capped at 14%.

What are Nefer's best artifacts?

Night of the Sky's Unveiling is the clear first choice. The 2-piece bonus adds 80 Elemental Mastery, and the 4-piece grants a CRIT Rate bonus of 15% or 30% depending on whether the party's Moonsign is at Nascent or Ascendant Gleam. All party members' Lunar Reaction damage also increases by 10% for each different Gleaming Moon effect active on party members, as documented by Game8.

What main stats should Nefer use?

  • Sands: Elemental Mastery
  • Goblet: Elemental Mastery
  • Circlet: CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate (whichever brings you closer to a 1:2 ratio)

Nefer uses EM on both Sands and Goblet because Lunar-Bloom scales with Elemental Mastery and is classified as reaction damage, meaning a Dendro DMG Bonus Goblet performs noticeably worse. Substat priorities are Elemental Mastery, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG.

What weapons work best on Nefer?

Reliquary of Truth is her signature weapon and best-in-slot. It carries 88.2% CRIT DMG as its bonus stat and stacks two conditional effects: Secret of Lies (80 EM for 12 seconds after using Elemental Skill) and Moon of Truth (24% CRIT DMG for 4 seconds after dealing Lunar-Bloom damage). When both effects are active simultaneously, both are boosted by 50%, according to Game8's weapon documentation.

For players without the signature, Nightweaver's Looking Glass is a strong alternative with 265 base Elemental Mastery and a passive that boosts Lunar-Bloom damage by 40% when both its conditional buffs are active. Dawning Frost, the 4-star option, offers 55.1% CRIT DMG and grants EM stacks from both Charged Attacks and Elemental Skills.

The free-to-play crafted option is Blackmarrow Lantern, which directly increases Bloom DMG by 48% and Lunar-Bloom DMG by 12%, with an additional 12% under Ascendant Gleam. It is the most accessible pick for players without gacha weapons.

What are Nefer's best team compositions?

Nefer's team building is more constrained than most DPS characters. She needs Hydro application to generate Bloom cores, at least one Nod-Krai character to activate Ascendant Gleam, and enough Lunar-Bloom support to justify the investment. Lauma fills multiple roles at once: she converts standard Bloom into Lunar-Bloom, boosts Lunar-Bloom damage for the whole team, reduces enemy Dendro and Hydro RES, and contributes to CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG through her passives. The Game8 analysis describes her as a near-hard requirement for Nefer's full damage potential.

Premium Lunar-Bloom teams

Kokomi handles healing and consistent Hydro application in one slot, freeing the fourth slot for pure damage amplification. Columbina boosts Lunar-Bloom and general Lunar damage while providing additional Hydro application. These teams represent Nefer's highest damage ceiling.

F2P and budget options

If Lauma is unavailable, Aino serves as the Nod-Krai character to activate Ascendant Gleam, though her overall contribution to Nefer's damage is lower. A budget team of Nefer, Aino, Xingqiu, and Kirara remains functional. Dendro Traveler can slot in as a Dendro applicator if needed.

For Quickbloom variants, Ineffa and Shinobu both work as Electro sub-DPS options. Their Electro application triggers Quicken reactions without consuming the Seeds of Deceit that Nefer needs, and both provide sustain or EM buffs that keep the rotation comfortable.

How good are Nefer's constellations?

According to Game8's constellation ratings, Nefer is complete at C0 and does not require any specific constellation breakpoint to function at her intended role. That said, C1 is the most impactful upgrade.

C1 (Planning Breeds Success): Increases Lunar-Bloom base damage from Phantasm Performance by 60% of Nefer's Elemental Mastery. This applies to both her base Elemental Skill and her Seeds of Deceit-enhanced version. At high EM values, this translates to a meaningful and consistent damage increase that lowers the stat investment threshold.

C2 (Observation Feeds Strategy): Extends Veil of Falsehood duration by 5 seconds, raises the stack cap to 5, and lets Phantasm Performance deal up to 140% of its original damage. Nefer also gains 2 stacks instantly on Elemental Skill cast, and hitting 5 stacks raises her EM by 200 for 8 seconds instead of the C0 value of 100.

C4 (Delusion Ensnares Reason): Verdant Dew generates 25% faster while in Shadow Dance, and nearby enemies take 20% increased Dendro damage during the same window.

Investing in Lauma before pushing Nefer's constellations will yield better returns for most players, as documented by Game8's build analysis.

What materials does Nefer need?

Full ascension to level 90 requires 420,000 Mora, Nagadus Emerald gems (1 Sliver, 9 Fragment, 9 Chunk, 6 Gemstone), 168 Moonfall Silver, 46 Radiant Antler from world bosses, and Warrant enemy drops across three tiers (Tattered, Immaculate, Frost-Etched).

Talent materials use the Elysium book series (Teachings, Guide, Philosophies) farmed on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The weekly boss drop is Ascended Sample: Rook from the Game Before the Gate challenge. Maxing all three talents also requires 3 Crowns of Insight and just under 5 million Mora.

Is Nefer worth pulling?

Nefer's strengths are real: she is easy to build stat-wise, her damage is almost entirely Lunar-Bloom which can CRIT, and she passively mitigates the survivability problem of Bloom teams by converting cores into Seeds of Deceit before they explode. The weakness is equally real. Her damage is tightly coupled to Lauma's presence. Without Lauma, she functions but does not reach the output numbers that justify her 5-star slot over alternatives.

She rivals top-tier DPS units when paired with Lauma, but sits noticeably lower without her. Pulling Nefer is effectively a two-character investment. If you already have Lauma, Nefer is an excellent addition. If you have neither, the Version 6.5 Phase 2 banner runs both simultaneously, which is the ideal entry point.
