Genshin Impact added a brand-new local specialty with version 7.0: Flockingweed, a plant material tied exclusively to the frozen reaches of Snezhnaya. Right now it's required to fully ascend Alyosha, the free 4-star character introduced in 7.0, and future Snezhnaya characters will almost certainly need it too. The good news is that the spawn points are concentrated enough to clear in a single run. The bad news is that Fellfrost Peak is one of the rockier, more annoying areas to navigate in the entire game. This guide cuts through that and gets you in and out fast.
Where does Flockingweed spawn in Genshin Impact?
All confirmed Flockingweed nodes sit inside the Fellfrost Peak sub-region of Snezhnaya. Two clusters cover the bulk of available plants:
- West of Svetloledovka — the largest and most accessible concentration, easy to navigate compared to the rest of Fellfrost Peak
- Near the entrance of House of Hesperides — a secondary cluster that also doubles as the starting area for the Hesperides of Love and Hate World Quest
Fellfrost Peak's terrain is notoriously jagged, which is exactly why sticking to these two zones matters. Trying to free-roam the entire sub-region wastes time and resin. Stick to the clusters below and you'll clear everything in one pass.

Genshin Impact Guide: All Flockingweed Locations & Best Farm Route
What is the best Flockingweed farming route?
The most efficient loop uses two teleport points and follows a specific direction at each one.
Step 1: Svetloledovka western cluster
- Teleport to the waypoint west of Svetloledovka.
- Head south from the waypoint first — the southern nodes are slightly further and easier to miss if you go north first.
- Collect everything heading south, then loop back through the waypoint and sweep north to grab the remaining plants in that cluster.
Step 2: House of Hesperides cluster
- Teleport to the waypoint at the House of Hesperides entrance.
- Collect the Flockingweed nodes scattered near the entrance.
- This area also contains the start of a World Quest, so feel free to pick up both objectives in one visit.

Which characters need Flockingweed?
Currently, Alyosha is the only character in Genshin Impact who requires Flockingweed for ascension. He's a 4-star Stellar Glimmer support who also provides healing, and he's obtainable for free during version 7.0. Given that Snezhnaya is a new region with more characters on the way, expect this material list to grow.
Here's the full breakdown of how much Flockingweed Alyosha needs to reach level 90:
Total to fully ascend Alyosha: 168 Flockingweed.
That's a significant ask, especially early in 7.0 when the nodes are being farmed by the entire playerbase at once. Start running the route as soon as you unlock Fellfrost Peak.
or farming Flockingweed faster
- Use a character with fast movement - Snezhnaya's terrain punishes slow walkers. Any character with a dash-heavy kit or high sprint stamina efficiency helps a lot.
- Do the World Quest while you're there - The House of Hesperides cluster overlaps with the Hesperides of Love and Hate World Quest starting point. Grab both in one visit.
- Track your count - You need 168 total. At roughly 20 to 30 per full route run (depending on respawn timing), budget at least 6 to 8 separate farm sessions to fully ascend Alyosha.
- Check co-op - Flockingweed can be collected in other players' worlds if they've unlocked the area, which can double your haul on a given day.
For players building out the rest of their 7.0 roster, the Genshin Impact guides collection has farming breakdowns for every new character's ascension and talent materials, including detailed routes for other Snezhnaya local specialties like the Prune materials farming guide and the Lohen ascension and talent materials guide.
