The Dreamlight Cinematics Festival has arrived in Heartopia, and it brings one of the most visually rich seasonal events the game has seen. From March 21 through May 1, Whale Island transforms into a golden-age cinema paradise packed with movie-themed decorations, exclusive fish variants, specialty bees, and a generous stack of free rewards. Whether you want to build the perfect drive-in theater plot or simply collect every limited-time item before the season closes, this guide covers everything you need to know.
How Do You Unlock the Dreamlight Cinematics Festival?
Before you can access any event content, you need to reach D.G. Member Level 7 and finish the main story beginner quests. Once both conditions are met, the festival unlocks automatically and the Festival Catalog becomes available. That catalog is your central hub for browsing all rewards, passes, and event progress.
If you are still working through early quests, prioritize leveling up and clearing the main story as quickly as possible. The sooner you unlock the catalog, the more daily login bonuses and free items you can collect.

Where to Find Azure and What She Sells
Azure is the main event vendor, and she has moved since the Frostwave season. You can now find her on the street between Dorothy's clothing store and the research building. Talk to her to sell event-exclusive items including crops, fish, and insects in exchange for festival tokens.
Those tokens are then spent on a wide range of cosmetic and decorative rewards. Here is a full breakdown of what Azure offers:
You earn experience by completing daily and weekly tasks as well, which lets you level up and claim additional rewards on top of what Azure stocks.
Every player can participate in the festival for free. Paid Festival Packs unlock extra exclusive items, but the core token economy and Azure's shop are fully accessible without spending real money.
Where to Find the Toy Octo Entertainment Fish
One of the most fun collectibles this season is the Toy Octo Entertainment fish series. These special octopus variants are found in the Whale Sea, located to the east of the island. You can fish for them with your standard fishing rod at any time of day, and you do not need to pay for the Deep Sea Fishing event to catch them.
Note that a fifth and final octopus variant is currently locked behind a time gate and will become available in the coming weeks as the event progresses. Keep checking back so you do not miss it when it drops.
Where Are the Script Supervisor Bees?
Four of the five Script Supervisor Bumblebees are available right from the start of the festival. The fifth will appear later in the event schedule. Here is exactly where to find each one:
The Pink and Purple bees both spawn at the Windmill Flower Field, so you can grab two in a single trip. Plan your route to hit the Windmill Flower Field first, then head toward Whale Mountain and finish at Amethyst Beach.

What Crops and Flowers Should You Grow?
Head to Blanc outside his shop in town to purchase the new seasonal seeds. There is one new event crop and one new flower this season, but you will also want to grow two additional crops to keep up with recipe demands.
Dreamlight Cinematics Festival Crops
- Romaine Lettuce is the exclusive event crop and takes only 15 minutes to grow, making it one of the fastest turnarounds in the game.
- Corn and Potatoes are not new, but many event recipes call for large quantities of both. Plant plenty of each to avoid running short mid-festival.
Dreamlight Cinematics Festival Flowers
- Dandelions are the new seasonal flower, available in red, white, and yellow. They take one full day to grow, so plant them as early and as often as possible.
- Dandelions can be crossbred for additional colors, which opens up more decorating options for your cinema-themed plots.
Dandelions take 24 hours per growth cycle. If you wait until late in the event to start planting, you may not have enough time to collect all the color variants through crossbreeding before May 1.
Where to Forage for Wild Greens
Several advanced recipes require foraged ingredients that you cannot buy or grow. Here is where to find each one:
How to Get the Festival Recipes
The Popcorn Serving Cart is your dedicated cooking station for all event dishes. You receive it automatically after speaking with Atara on your first login. However, the cart alone is not enough. You still need to buy the actual recipes from Massimo, who stands outside his restaurant in town.
Visit Massimo early to browse his available recipes and start experimenting. Stocking up on Romaine Lettuce, Corn, Potatoes, and foraged ingredients before you buy the recipes means you can start cooking immediately rather than waiting on crops.
Premium Rewards
The free tier of the festival is genuinely generous, but premium Festival Packs add exclusive items that are not available through token grinding alone. Here is what the paid content includes:
- Heart Diamonds and additional currency
- Pet costumes and instruments
- Modern Show outfits (Dandy and Belle styles)
- Light and Shadow building sets and themed furniture
- Supreme Festival Pack Bonus: Coconut Island sunset billboard, popcorn movie cart chat bubble, and a 10% bonus on festival token sales
The 10% token sales bonus from the Supreme Pack is particularly useful if you plan to sell large quantities of event fish and insects to Azure. Over the course of the full event period, that bonus adds up noticeably.
