The Ossex Music Hall is one of those locations in Mina the Hollower that looks completely locked off on a first visit. A grumpy lizard bouncer named Kommodore plants himself at the entrance and makes it very clear that Hollowers aren't welcome. Even trying to burrow right in front of him gets you grabbed and shoved back. The good news: the solution requires zero additional progression. You just need to think like a mouse.
Why can't you just walk in?
The Ossex Music Hall sits in the Ossex: Bowery district. Kommodore stands directly in the doorway, and the moment you try to pass him, he blocks you. Attempting to burrow in the open near the entrance doesn't work either because he grabs Mina the instant she surfaces. There's also a tube visible in the background that makes the whole thing look more complicated than it actually is. Ignore the tube for now.
Want a hint first?
Talk to Tramp
Just northeast of the Music Hall, there's a raccoon named Tramp sitting by a campfire. Hand him 100 bones and he'll give you a cryptic tip: a character named Lionel once smuggled him into the hall by hiding him under his toes. That's the game nudging you toward the solution without spelling it out directly.
You don't actually need Lionel specifically. Any visitor walking in or out of the Music Hall will do.

Tramp sells hints for 100 bones
How to burrow past Kommodore
Here's the exact method that works every time:
- Watch the NPCs moving in and out of the Music Hall entrance. Visitors do walk through regularly.
- Position Mina a few tiles away from Kommodore, not right next to him. Burrowing too close to the bouncer triggers his grab.
- When a visitor is heading inside and is right next to the guard, burrow underground and move slowly beneath them as they walk through the entrance.
- Stay under the visitor while they pass Kommodore. His grab won't trigger as long as you're underneath another character.
- Once you're through, you're in.
Timing matters here. Burrowing too early or too late puts Kommodore in grab range. If he catches you, just reset and try again. There's no penalty for failed attempts, so keep experimenting with the timing until it clicks.
What's inside the Music Hall?
Once inside, you'll find several familiar faces from across the game, including a couple of boss characters. The rewards worth noting:
The Trinket from Willis requires a separate side quest: find the missing lil' frog in the Bayou and provide his band with travel funds. Once that's done and the band plays the Music Hall, Willis pays out.

Unlock the tube for fast access
Don't skip the tube unlock
This is the step most players miss. The tube sitting near the Music Hall entrance can be opened from inside once you've gotten in. Activating it gives you a permanent fast-access point, so every return visit is instant. Given that the Bonestone chest and Willis's Trinket both require separate conditions to fully collect, you'll probably be back.

Mina the Hollower is packed with this kind of environmental puzzle logic, where the answer is always burrowing but the execution requires reading the space carefully. The Music Hall is a good early example of that design philosophy. If you're just getting started, the release date and launch times guide has useful context on what to expect from the game at launch.
Yacht Club Games built Mina as one of the standout adventure games of 2026, and the Music Hall puzzle is a small but satisfying example of why. The solution is never about brute force. It's about paying attention to how the world actually works.
