Everness Guide: How to Beat Serenetti ...

Where Worlds Sprout, Fall Unfolds is one of Neverness to Everness's more story-heavy spinoff missions, sending you through a missing persons investigation that spirals into a vine-overrun manor and a boss fight you won't see coming. The quest takes you from Bridge Crossings all the way through Clement Academy and into a crumbling estate crawling with plant-based Oddities. Rewards include 2000 Hunter EXP, 100 Annulith, 10 Expansion Cores, and 200,000 Beetle Coins, making it well worth your time.

How do you unlock Where Worlds Sprout, Fall Unfolds?

You need to reach Hunter Level 15 before this spinoff becomes available. The quest starts in Bridge Crossings, so make sure you're in that district when you pick it up. There are no other prerequisites beyond that level requirement.

Commission Allocation: Starting the investigation

The quest opens with a message from Adler. Check the text, then head to Eibon in Bridge Crossings. You can fast travel using the phone booth just south of Eibon to get there quickly. Adler is standing inside the door to your right.

From there, follow the quest marker to White Parrot Street on the west side of Bridge Crossings, off Coastal Highway Z42. Head into the alley next to Myosotis and approach Zhengzhi in front of the house. After the cutscene, follow him inside and go right into the living room.

What clues do you need to find in Maiyue's house?

You need to examine 3 clues inside the house:

  • Books on the counter (ground floor, immediately to your left as you enter)
  • Dried flower bookmark on the desk in the open room to the right of the stairs
  • Little Buni upstairs (select the "Maiyue's house oddity?" dialogue prompt)

Once all three are found, head downstairs to say farewell to Zhengzhi and Zhongchun at the front door.

Gathering information across Bridge Crossings

The investigation leg of this quest has you hitting several locations in sequence. From the house, go down the alley to your right and speak to Weihua on her porch. Then head east to the park and talk to the pair sitting on the bench.

Next stop is Hillside Blooms (also listed as Floraison de Montagne on the map). Head inside and speak to Lillian behind the counter. After that, make your way north to Davidia Avenue and enter Moby-Dick Bookstore to talk to Jude. Leave the store and find Baicang at the street corner outside.

Clement Academy: How do you get inside?

The academy visit is time-gated. You need to arrive between 15:00 and 16:00 in-game time. Travel to the academy first, then adjust the clock. While tracking the quest, press L3 to automatically change the time.

Do not try to walk through the main entrance. If you do, the game sends you back to the start of the area. Instead, follow the fence line to the right until you reach the street corner, then turn left. Use the warning barrier to climb over the fence.

Inside, speak to the two students on the track, then head west through the academy to find the Garden Club. After the cutscene, leave the building west and enter the building just north. Go upstairs, turn left, and enter the first room on the left to talk to club members. Come back downstairs and speak to more members outside at the back of the building.

With Baicang's intel in hand, leave the academy and travel to the border of Bridge Crossings and Unheard Shores on White Parrot Street. Follow the gated path to a clearing and speak to Skia. The Manor entrance opens up after the cutscene.

Exploring the Manor

The Manor section is the longest part of this quest. The core mechanic here involves Fleur, a violet plant that acts as a storyteller guide, and blue plants that you interact with to clear bramble blockades. Each blue plant gives you a dialogue choice, and picking the right option opens the path forward.

Here's the sequence through the Manor:

  1. Enter through the wooden double doors of the main building
  2. Talk to Fleur (the violet flower cluster) in the hall
  3. Enter the open door to the left, climb the plant to the upper floor
  4. Talk to Fleur again, then interact with the first blue plant and choose Destruction
  5. Attack the corrosive plant bulbs to open the door
  6. Defeat the 2 Noros (deer-like Oddities) on the stairs
  7. Reach the second blue plant and choose It's suffocating here
  8. Drop down through the broken floor and defeat the level 19 Huggy Vines
  9. Climb the damaged wall upstairs
  10. Interact with the blue plant and choose How strict is the family? to reveal a hole downward
  11. Drop down, destroy bulbs in the hallway, defeat more Huggy Vines
  12. Use the blue plant and choose Blossom
  13. Navigate outside, defeat outdoor Huggy Vines, then talk to Fleur
  14. Proceed along the passage to the upper facade (scale the left wall, as the door is blocked)
  15. Talk to Fleur again after the cutscene with Baicang and Skia
  16. Climb the giant root stalk to reach the attic
  17. Clear Huggy Vines in the attic, then talk to Fleur by the hole in the roof
  18. Head down the stairs east and drop into the clearing to reach the Glass House

How to collect the three flowers for Maiyue

Once inside the Glass House, approach the large flower to try awakening Maiyue. Attack the corrosive bud plants on your right to clear the brambles and unlock the exit door.

Leave through that door and collect the three flowers in this order:

  1. First flower: Turn left from the door, around the Glass House
  2. Second flower: Follow the path back toward the Glass House entrance, flowers are right off the path
  3. Third flower: Jump up to the raised area near the Manor proper

You can only pick them up in a specific sequence even though all three are marked on the map. Return to the Glass House and interact with Maiyue, then select the Yellow flower when prompted.

How to beat Serenetti

Serenetti is a level 32 boss and the final combat challenge of this quest. One important detail: the fight uses three fixed characters, not your usual party. You go into this battle with whoever the game assigns, so you cannot optimize your team composition beforehand.

Serenetti is mostly stationary but has high HP and uses wide-range AoE attacks. The fight has two distinct phases:

Phase 1: Well-choreographed attack patterns. Watch for red flashes on screen that signal incoming attacks and dodge on those prompts. Keep dealing damage consistently.

Phase 2: The arena turns red. Serenetti ramps up AoE frequency and starts throwing out energy bursts from the ground alongside its own pulse attacks. Keep moving constantly and prioritize dodging the floor pulses.

Serenetti also fires projectiles throughout the fight. These are telegraphed and should be dodged rather than tanked. The key to this fight is volume of attacks, not any single burst window. Chip away steadily, dodge the red-flash prompts, and the fight is manageable.

Quest rewards and what to do after

Completing Where Worlds Sprout, Fall Unfolds gives you a solid spread of progression materials:

After the Serenetti fight, check Baicang's message (press L3 to pull it up directly) and head back to Hillside Blooms for a final cutscene with Baicang. That wraps the quest.
