The 9th birthday celebration is live, giant chocolate cakes have appeared across the map, and Epic has tied the whole thing to a Celebration quest that asks players to eat 4 slices before the event wraps.
Here's the lowdown on what's happening and where to look.
What the quest actually asks you to do
The Celebration quest is straightforward: eat 4 slices of birthday cake. Each cake on the map spawns with multiple slices on the ground nearby, so landing directly on one and grabbing all 4 before anyone else does is the fastest way through it. Miss out because another player got there first? Either find a second cake in the same match or queue into a fresh game.
Spotting the cakes is easy once you know the visual cue. Party balloons always appear near a cake spawn, either outside a building or right beside it. If you see balloons while dropping, there's a cake close by.

Eight confirmed cake spawns are spread across the Chapter 7 Season 4 map. Here's where to find them:
- Wooden patio of the largest lodge in Lifty Lodge
- Inside a building under construction beside the Epic Mega Arcade, southeast of Pac-Man Island
- Next to the music stage in Wonkeeland
- On a grassy platform in the northwest corner of Green Hill Zone
- Inside the red Epic Mega Arcade barn northwest of Stone Sanctum
- Inside the Pixel Polys building east of Stone Sanctum
- On the small island east of Heatwave Harbor, the one with a single building on it
- Southeast corner of Cluster Coast

Fortnite OG cake spots are the reliable fallback
If Battle Royale is giving you trouble, Fortnite OG has working cake spawns. The two most efficient landing spots are Junk Junction and Pleasant Park, both of which reliably have cakes at their centers. Land at one, eat as many slices as you can, then run to the other if you still need more.
A handful of additional OG spawns are also confirmed:
- South of the lodge in Lonely Lodge
- Between the two houses in the Viking village southwest of Snobby Shores
- The northernmost house of Salty Springs
- Outside the red barn at Fatal Fields
- Northwest corner of Shifty Shafts
The key here is speed. OG lobbies fill up fast during event periods, and other players chasing the same quest will be hitting these same spots. Junk Junction tends to see slightly less traffic than Pleasant Park, so that's a reasonable first drop if you want a cleaner run at the slices.
