There are 126 possible Wanted Poster spawns across Crossbones Isle in Fortnite Treasure Hunters, spread between named locations and smaller outlying spots.

These update 43.00 locations are possible spawns, not guaranteed posters in every match. Use the checklist below to pick a search area, then turn a wall-mounted poster into a Sprite Treasure Map. Start with a named POI if you want several possible poster positions in one area.

The Chest serves as a reference point for two outlying groups. It does not have a separate poster count to add to the checklist.

Plan your Crossbones Isle search

Which Wanted Poster route should you use?

Choose a concentrated starting area

Choose Cursed Cavern for a single-POI search because it has the largest group of potential poster positions. Loguetown is the next choice by count, while Arlong Park, Fortune’s Fort, and Lantern Landing are tied behind it.

Keep the Battle Bus route and visible enemy activity in mind before committing to a landing. A different POI can be the better decision if reaching your preferred location would put you straight into a fight.

Several outlying poster groups sit between named locations. Include those groups when moving between settlements instead of treating every POI as an isolated stop.

Suggested search routePossible spawn points across the routeWhen to choose it
The $.$. Rocky, connecting area, and Loguetown24You want to search two named POIs and the group between them
Arlong Park, connecting area, and Windmill Village21You want to include the largest outlying poster group
Lantern Landing and its eastern road13You want to extend a POI search without adding another named location

These totals combine the checklist entries for each route. They describe search positions, not how many posters you will collect in a match.

If your poster search takes you through Fortune’s Fort or Lantern Landing, the Fortnite Treasure Hunters hidden puzzle solutions cover the loot puzzles at those stops.

How to recognize Wanted Posters

Wanted Posters hang on walls inside and around settlements. Look for a square, poster-shaped icon containing a question mark and a soft gold glow, slightly lighter than the glow used for regular chests.

Each poster is single-use and turns into a map when claimed. Search early when possible, because another player can take a poster before you reach its wall.

Use Exmarks to reveal nearby posters

The Exmarks Sprite highlights nearby Wanted Posters and Treasure Maps in yellow, including through walls. Follow those highlights when searching buildings instead of checking every room without a direction.

At Level 5, Exmarks also generates a Treasure Map of its own. Compare it with the other Fortnite Treasure Hunters Sprites and abilities if you are choosing a companion for your poster hunt.

How to turn a Wanted Poster into a Sprite Chest

Wanted Posters use the same interaction sequence in Battle Royale and Zero Build. You need to claim the map, follow its directions, and uncover the buried chest yourself.

Follow the map and dig at the X

  1. Approach a Wanted Poster. Use the location checklist to choose where to search, then find one attached to a wall.
  2. Interact with the poster. Collect the Sprite Treasure Map it provides.
  3. Equip the map. A red dotted line appears to show the direction of the buried treasure.
  4. Follow the dotted line. Continue until you reach the red X identified as X Marks the Spot.
  5. Dig with your pickaxe. Strike the marked ground to uncover the Sprite Chest.
  6. Open the chest. Interact with the revealed chest to claim its reward.

The red X is the digging target. Searching ordinary containers near the destination does not replace uncovering the marked chest.

Carry one map at a time

Your inventory can hold only one Sprite Treasure Map. Complete the current hunt or drop its map before picking up another one. You can interact with multiple Wanted Posters during a match, so the inventory limit does not restrict you to one hunt.

For repeated searches, finish a map before returning to the remaining poster positions. Collecting several posters first is not a way to stockpile maps in your inventory.

Wanted Poster quests and chest rewards

Complete three hunts for the poster quest

The Use Sprite Wanted Posters to dig up and open Sprite Chests quest requires three completed poster hunts. Each completion includes finding a poster, using its map, digging up the Sprite Chest, and opening it.

Check the Fortnite Treasure Hunters quests and rewards for other objectives to pair with your poster search. For this objective, taking posters down without opening their buried chests leaves the task unfinished.

Understand which rewards are random

Buried Sprite Chests can provide a Sprite or a free Treasure Hunt Chest reward. Sprite rewards are randomized, so you can receive a companion you already own. No specific Wanted Poster location guarantees a missing Sprite or a rarer variant.

A Pirate Shop Access Token is another possible reward from opening Sprite Chests, but completing a poster hunt does not guarantee one. Treasure Hunt Chests and containers such as Ammo Boxes, Barrels, and Produce Boxes are alternative token sources.

Treasure Hours improves the chance of finding a Pirate Shop Access Token and activates XP boosts. Use that event window for token attempts when possible, while treating each token drop as a chance-based reward.
