Five free cosmetics are sitting in Fortnite right now, and all you have to do is play some Star Wars-themed Creative modes to get them. Epic Games launched the Star Wars: Unleash the Force event this week, attaching a 15-quest reward track to three new game modes. Complete enough quests, and you walk away with back bling, a pickaxe, a loading screen, a spray, and a banner without spending a single V-Buck.
The three modes powering the quest track
The quests are split across Galactic Siege, Escape Vader, and Droid Tycoon, each a dedicated Star Wars Creative island. What's smart about the structure is that you don't have to grind all three simultaneously. Every quest awards 10,000 XP, and the total cosmetic rewards unlock based on how many quests you've completed across all three modes combined.
Here's the key: not every quest is available yet. Epic is drip-feeding new challenges each week through May, so the event has legs beyond just this weekend.
Every quest available right now and what's coming
Galactic Siege tasks you with claiming capture points, spending in-game Credits, completing bounties, and unlocking the Force User class. Only the first challenge (Claim 3 Capture Points) is live right now, with the remaining three unlocking on May 8, May 15, and May 22 respectively.
Escape Vader is the most immediately accessible set. The first quest, Deliver 12 Power Cells, went live on May 2, making it available right now. Eliminating 15 Stormtroopers opens May 8, escaping Vader twice comes May 15, and the trickiest one, stunning Vader 3 times using steam pipes, lands May 22.
Droid Tycoon has its first quest active from May 3, asking you to use the Rebirth Station to rebirth. The remaining three follow the same weekly cadence as the other modes.
New quests unlock every Thursday through May 22. Missing a week doesn't lock you out, but you'll want to stay current if you're chasing all 15 completions before the event closes.
What you actually earn
The reward structure scales with total quest completions, not per-mode progress:
The Shock Trooper Electrostaff Pickaxe is the headline item here, and it requires completing all 15 quests. Given the weekly unlock schedule, that means you'll need to stay engaged through the final May 22 drop. The Sith Holocron Back Bling at 12 completions is the runner-up prize worth targeting if you'd rather not commit to the full run.
What most players miss with events like this is the front-loading opportunity. Three quests are already live or unlocking within days, meaning the Banner and Rebel Tauntaun Spray are essentially free for anyone who logs in this week. That's low-effort cosmetics that disappear the moment the event ends.
