Path of Exile 2 is leaving early access on December 11, 2026. Grinding Gear Games made the announcement at Gamescom Opening Night Live with a full Version 1.0 trailer, dropping the date alongside gameplay that immediately answered one of the community's longest-running requests: swords are finally in the game.
The free-to-play action-RPG has been in PC early access since December 2024, meaning the full release lands almost exactly two years after players first got their hands on it. Version 1.0 will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S simultaneously.
What the 1.0 trailer actually shows
The Version 1.0 reveal trailer is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Blade combat is front and center, with clean weapon animations and impact that looks noticeably more satisfying than the early access melee options players have been working around for two years. GGG's official messaging accompanying the reveal leaned directly into the moment with the line .
