Path of Exile 2 recently added two new crafting targets worth knowing about: Diamond Jewels and Pearlescent Amulets. Both come from the Reforging Bench, and both give you access to modifier combinations that weren't possible before. The system has some randomness baked in, but once you understand which bases to combine and when the bench unlocks, you can stop guessing and start crafting with a plan.
How do you craft Diamond Jewels in Path of Exile 2?
Diamond Jewels are made exclusively through Reforge Crafting at the Reforging Bench. You won't find this bench until Act 3, and it unlocks after completing the Treasures of Utzaal quest. Keep that quest in your sights if crafting is part of your build plan.
Once you have bench access, the process starts with a jewel base. You can use any of the following:
- Emerald Jewel
- Sapphire Jewel
- Ruby Jewel
Any one of those three can be converted into a Diamond Jewel base. The conversion itself is straightforward, but the affixes you end up with are pulled randomly from the available pool of the base materials you're combining. You can mix and match different base layers, which opens up modifier combinations that weren't reachable through older crafting methods. The trade-off is that you're inheriting affixes without full direct control over the outcome.

The system rewards experimentation. Running multiple crafting attempts with different base combinations is the fastest way to land the modifiers you actually want. How do you get Pearlescent Amulets in Path of Exile 2?
Pearlescent Amulets are a base type that provides modifiers to all elemental resistances. They share the same modifier pool regardless of which specific version you craft, so the main variable between crafted versions is how much elemental resistance the amulet rolls.
Can they drop from enemies?
Pearlescent Amulets can apparently drop as random loot from enemies in Act 2, roughly in the level 16-31 range. In practice, the drop rate appears low enough that farming for one isn't a reliable strategy. The Reforging Bench is the consistent path.
What bases do you combine to craft a Pearlescent Amulet?
To craft a Pearlescent Amulet at the bench, combine these three amulet bases:
You need all three. The rarity of your input bases affects the output quality, so using higher-rarity versions of each base improves your odds of landing better rolls. Since all Pearlescent Amulets pull from the same modifier pool, the only meaningful difference between a crafted rare and a crafted magic version is the amount of elemental resistance on the final item.
Don't waste high-rarity Lapis, Amber, or Jade bases early in a playthrough. Save them for when your build is settled and you know what resistance thresholds you're targeting.

Tips for getting the most out of Reforge Crafting
- Match your base rarities when possible. Higher-rarity inputs produce stronger outputs, and for Pearlescent Amulets specifically, rarity is the main lever you control.
- Don't reroll prematurely. The affix pool for Diamond Jewels is broad. Lock in a useful modifier before spending more materials trying to perfect the rest.
- Stock base materials early. Lapis, Amber, and Jade Amulets are common enough to hoard through Act 1 and Act 2 without disrupting your currency flow. Same goes for the jewel bases.
- Pair Diamond Jewels with your passive tree intentionally. A jewel socket next to a cluster of relevant nodes multiplies the value of whatever modifiers you land.
If you're still building out your character's foundation, the early game tips and tricks guide covers currency management and loot priorities that make the crafting grind significantly less painful.
Crafting a Pearlescent Amulet with matched-rarity bases is one of the more efficient ways to hit all-resistance thresholds without juggling three separate resistance affixes across your gear.
