Party Quest Guide ...

Pokemon Pokopia players reaching Rocky Ridges, the game's third major area, face one of the longest and most layered questlines yet. The sequence involves freeing a trapped chef, unlocking two critical ability upgrades, and organizing an elaborate party that demands specific decorations, multiple cooked dishes, and a Pokemon capable of hyping up the crowd.

Getting Started in Rocky Ridges

Start gathering resources the moment you arrive. Leaves, wheat, and beans appear frequently while exploring, and any seeds you find should be planted immediately. These ingredients fuel several recipes later in the quest, and waiting until you need them guarantees a frustrating grind.

The area introduces itself by asking you to help Professor Tangrowth relocate the ruins of the old Pokemon Center. The PC sits disconnected from its power supply, and your character lacks the raw strength to budge it. That problem sets up the first major upgrade path.

Powering Up: Strength and Cutting Upgrades

Moving the PC requires a strength boost, which comes through this sequence:

  • Construct a Red tall grass habitat to bring in Scorbunny
  • Speak with Scorbunny to learn what Machoke needs for its habitat
  • Build a Grassy training field habitat to spawn Machoke
  • Train with Machoke to gain the strength upgrade
  • Shove the PC back to its proper spot at the Pokemon Center

After checking in with Professor Tangrowth again, the quest moves to the kitchen, where a Pokemon is stuck inside a barrel sealed by a metal chain. Breaking it open requires upgrading your cutting ability:

  • Build a Pointy tree-shaded rocky tall grass habitat to attract Dartrix
  • Craft a chopping board with two lumber, then make and consume a salad using two leaves
  • Construct the Mossy hot spring habitat to bring in Torkoal
  • Build a bread oven from two stones, two small logs, and four volcanic ash
  • Bake and eat bread using three wheat, with Scorbunny igniting the oven
  • Use your improved cutting ability to slice the chain and release the Pokemon

Keep Scorbunny in your active party for the entire Rocky Ridges sequence. You need the fire-type to light the bread oven, and forgetting to bring it means a time-wasting trip back to swap Pokemon.

Cooking With Chef Dente

The Pokemon you freed turns out to be Chef Dente, who wastes no time putting you to work in the kitchen. Making the first dish requires a frying pan, which means heading into the mining tunnels for copper:

  • Talk to Machoke and follow them to the tunnel entrance
  • Cut through the fence blocking the mining zone
  • Construct the Digging and burning habitat to spawn Magmar
  • Have Magmar smelt two copper ingots at the tunnel's smelter
  • Craft the frying pan using those two copper ingots
  • Cook a hamburger steak with four beans

Finding DJ Rotom and Planning the Party

While working through Chef Dente's cooking tasks, Scorbunny shows up looking anxious and gestures toward what appears to be a solid wall. Punching through it reveals a hidden section of the mining tunnels, where DJ Rotom has been stuck.

  • Follow Scorbunny's lead and investigate the strange noise
  • Speak with DJ Rotom inside the newly opened tunnel
  • Head back outside to update Professor Tangrowth
  • DJ Rotom joins your crew and pitches the idea of throwing a party

Completing the Time to Party Quest

This section is the longest stretch of the Rocky Ridges questline. Here's everything you need to pull off the party:

  • Talk with Chef Dente and clear out space for the event
  • Place the cooking pot
  • Check in with Professor Tangrowth, then gather at least one large relic and some decorations (balloons and banners both work)
  • Craft five party platters, each needing one iron ingot
  • Cook five dishes to set on the platters
  • Bring DJ Rotom CDs (one or two is enough to move forward, though the DJ can hold up to five)
  • Construct the Uplifting Duckweed habitat to spawn Ludicolo as your hype Pokemon
  • Add more decorations like balloons, banners, and party cups from the shop to drive the hype level to 100

Once hype reaches 100, Chef Dente assigns the centerpiece curry dish. Drop these ingredients into the cooking pot:

Assign Pokemon to assist Chef Dente with the cooking. The curry takes a few minutes to finish. Once it's done, interact with the prompted Pokemon to close out the Rocky Ridges questline.

danger
Plant seeds as soon as you find them. The curry alone needs 15 wheat and 15 beans, so having crops growing passively in the background saves you from staring at timers when you're trying to finish the quest.

With Rocky Ridges wrapped, you can finish restoring the Pokemon Center, improve your Pokemon's comfort stats, or head through the next gate to explore more of Pokemon Pokopia.
