Palworld 1.0 Details and Patch Notes - Palworld Guide - IGN

Palworld 1.0 added a wave of new biomes, tools, and crafting materials, and the rare resource list grew with it. Six new materials are scattered across the Sunreach Islands, the World Tree biome, and older zones like Sakurajima. Some require a specific tool to harvest, others drop from boss kills, and a few are sitting in plain sight once you know which direction to walk. Here's exactly where to find each one.

What are the new rare resources in Palworld 1.0?

The 1.0 update introduced six materials that fall into the rare category: Soralite, Hardwood, World Tree Holy Water, Paloxite, Mythical Wood, and Ancient Civilization Core. Each serves a distinct purpose in crafting, with several tied directly to endgame recipes and Ancient Technology items. Before heading out, make sure you have the Plasma Multicutter unlocked from the Technology tab. Two of these resources require it to harvest.

Soralite

Soralite is a blue-colored ore exclusive to the floating islands on the southern side of the map. Head to the southern floating islands, locate the Soralite deposits, and aim the Plasma Multicutter directly at the rock face to break it. The ore glows a distinct blue, so it's easy to spot once you're in the right area. This is one of the more out-of-the-way materials in the update, so fast travel to the nearest southern waypoint before making the trip.

Hardwood

Unlike the other entries on this list, Hardwood is not locked behind a new zone. The trees grow across Sakurajima, and if you're still working through earlier content, that island is your best bet. Hardwood also appears throughout the new Sunreach Islands areas, but Sakurajima is accessible without clearing the new regions first. New players should prioritize Sakurajima as their main Hardwood source until they unlock the Sunreach content.

World Tree Holy Water

World Tree Holy Water is the most straightforward material on this list. Enter the World Tree biome and you'll receive some on arrival. To farm larger quantities, defeat the Pals that inhabit the biome. They drop Holy Water consistently, making this a combat-based farming loop rather than a mining run. It's needed for multiple endgame crafting recipes, so plan to spend time clearing Pals in the area once you unlock the biome.

Paloxite

Paloxite is found exclusively in the World Tree area. Travel east until you reach the Dusty Ravine Watchtower, then look for deposits with a distinctive pink glow. Like Soralite, you need the Plasma Multicutter to extract it. The pink glow makes Paloxite easy to identify at a distance, which helps when scanning the terrain around the watchtower.

warning
Both Soralite and Paloxite are locked behind the Plasma Multicutter. Trying to farm these before unlocking the tool wastes a trip. Check your Technology tab first.

Mythical Wood

The forest region directly south of the Dusty Ravine Watchtower is where Mythical Wood trees grow. The concentration of trees in this area makes it a reliable spot, and you can also find scattered Mythical Wood along the paths through the region. As long as you're exploring south of the watchtower, you'll come across plenty. No special tool required here, just standard wood-harvesting.

Ancient Civilization Core

Ancient Civilization Core is the most grind-heavy material on this list. It drops from boss fights, and every boss kill adds to your stock. The stronger the boss, the more reliably you'll farm these. If you're still in the early-to-mid game, prioritize leveling before committing to a Core farming run. The material is required for crafting Ancient Technology items, so you'll need a steady supply once you start pushing into that tier of gear.

How does the Plasma Multicutter fit into the 1.0 progression?

The Plasma Multicutter is the gating tool for two of these six materials. It unlocks through the Technology tab, and the 1.0 update pushed the player level cap to 80, which means there's a wider range of Technology unlocks to work through. Check out the full breakdown of all new technologies and how to unlock them if you want a clear picture of where the Multicutter sits in the unlock chain and what else opens up at the higher levels.

Tips for efficient rare resource farming

  • Soralite and Paloxite: Both require the Plasma Multicutter, so unlock it before making separate trips to the southern floating islands and the Dusty Ravine Watchtower. Combine both runs if your level allows access to both zones.
  • Hardwood: Sakurajima is the most accessible source. If you've already unlocked Sunreach, the new island areas also have trees, but Sakurajima remains the easiest early option.
  • World Tree Holy Water: Treat this as a byproduct of normal World Tree exploration. You'll accumulate it naturally by clearing Pals in the biome rather than farming it as a dedicated activity.
  • Ancient Civilization Core: Boss fights are the only source. Higher-level bosses drop Cores more reliably, so don't grind low-level bosses expecting the same return rate.
  • Mythical Wood: The forest south of Dusty Ravine Watchtower is dense enough that a single pass through the area yields a solid amount. No special routing needed.

For everything else added in the update, the Palworld 1.0 all major changes and additions breakdown covers the full scope of what's new, including the 72 new Pals, the sky island zone, and the breeding mutation system. The Palworld guides collection has dedicated pages for weapons, accessories, and the new Pals if you want to keep building out your knowledge of the update.
