Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy hides seven collectible blades across its ten chapters, and each one does more than sit in a menu looking pretty. Every sword comes with a unique combat technique that changes how Sophia fights, whether that means stunning enemies on your final combo hit, refilling your Focus gauge through kills, or trading your block entirely for beefed-up parry damage. Two blades are handed to you automatically. The rest require solving light-based puzzles inside Hero Tombs to unlock.
Why do the blades matter beyond trophies?
Every blade except the starting Rusty Sword carries a passive technique that actively reshapes your combat options. Swap blades depending on the encounter: the Khopesh melts boss health through damage over time, while the Greek Sword turns Critical Strikes into a full 360-degree spin that clears groups. The Xiphos rewards aggressive parry players but removes blocking entirely, so it punishes hesitation hard.
Two trophies are tied directly to blade collection. Collecting all seven earns the Gold Trophy "Looter." The Silver Trophy "Adaptable" requires at least one kill with every blade, including the Rusty Sword. The DLC-exclusive Hero's Blade does not count toward either trophy, so players without the Heritage Pack are not locked out.

Rusty Sword (Chapter 1)
The Rusty Sword is Sophia's default weapon and carries no special technique. It is added to your inventory automatically when you enter the desert village at the start of Chapter 1. No puzzle required, but don't forget it exists when going for the Adaptable trophy.
Falchion (Chapter 2)
During Chapter 2, follow the main story through the carnival area until you reach the weapon stash near the water's edge with Leni. The Falchion is handed to you automatically alongside the grapnel.
Technique: Momentum Strike — Deal bonus damage with this blade after a successful Critical Strike.
The Hero's Blade from the Heritage Pack DLC shares this exact same technique and becomes available at the same point in the story. If you own the DLC, it appears in your inventory at the same time as the Falchion, but it is not needed for any trophies.

Kopis (Chapter 4)
On the main path through the caves in Chapter 4, you will pass a large skull statue on a pedestal. Interact with the pedestal to open a passage in the floor. Head down the steps to find a chest inside.
Technique: Stagger Blow — The last hit of your combo inflicts a powerful strike that deals stun damage.

Greek Sword (Chapter 5)
When the four-symbol puzzle begins in the central hub area, go through the open passage beneath the circular pronged symbol. Follow the path, defeat the enemies in the clearing, then skip the green doors and head around the corner to an encampment with a large skull pillar and a sealed floor entrance.
Climb the ledges to the left of the encampment to reach the top of the columns, where you will find multiple metal circles. Stand on the leftmost circle beside the statue, equip your sphere, aim at the green gem at the base of the skull pillar, then rotate so the red beam connects with the upper gem and the blue beam connects with the gem on the floor. This opens the metal cover below. Drop down and loot the chest.
Technique: Spinning Slash — Sophia no longer uses her dagger. Critical Strikes are replaced by a sweeping spin that damages all nearby enemies.

Sica (Chapter 6)
After collecting Daedalus' key from his corpse and unlocking the door on the right of the steps, continue through the tunnel until you reach a fork. Take the left tunnel to emerge into a chamber with a skull statue.
Jump across the gaps and drop into the main area. Climb onto the lowest pillar on the left side of the statue, then jump to the next one. Equip your sphere in beam mode, aim at the green gem at the statue's base, rotate the red beam to hit the reflector on the distant pillar, and fire the blue beam straight down. The opening at the base of the statue unlocks. Descend and loot the grave.
Technique: Focus Rush — Killing an enemy with this blade increases the Focus Gauge.

Khopesh (Chapter 7)
After using the grapnel to collapse the ceiling of the underground storage area and crawling through, go up the steps and turn left. You will find a skull statue with its top fallen forward. Just in front of the skull is a circular metal plate on the ground.
Stand on the plate, equip your sphere in colored beam mode, aim at the green gem upper right of the sealed doors, rotate the red beam to hit the gem on the pillar, and direct the blue beam at the gem on the cliff face behind the skull. The doors open. Climb the ledges on the right to reach and descend into the grave.
Technique: Deep Bleed — The last hit of your combo inflicts a serious wound that deals damage over time.

Broken Spear (Chapter 9)
After crawling through a gap following a soldier encounter near a fire, a cutscene triggers showing a soldier being petrified by the creature. As Sophia regains composure, immediately go left past the petrified soldier and follow the grassy path around the corner. Vault up the ledge to reach two light sources at the base of another skull statue. Descend the steps and loot the grave.
Unlike the other Hero Tombs, this one has no light puzzle. The entrance is already open.
Technique: Sprint Assault — Pierce enemy guards and shields after a Sprint Attack to inflict damage.

Xiphos (Chapter 10)
The final blade is in the open area outside the rotating gem puzzle door. Cross to the far side of the water, away from the door. Behind tall reeds, find a cave entrance. Pass through it and use the grapple point above to reach the last skull statue in the game.
Activate the pedestal beside the statue to trigger three sunbeams illuminating different podiums. Move to the podium back and to the right of the statue. Equip your sphere in colored beam mode, aim at the green gem on the base of the pillar, rotate the red beam to hit the gem in the distance to the left of the pillar, and direct the blue beam at the gem on the ground to the right. The floor opens. Drop down and loot the grave.
Technique: Parry Break — Inflicts more stun damage while parrying attacks. In return, Sophia can no longer block.

What's the best blade for each situation?
The Greek Sword is worth equipping for any fight with three or more enemies since the Spinning Slash hits everything in range simultaneously. For solo duels and boss phases, the Khopesh wins on efficiency because Deep Bleed keeps ticking even when you're forced to dodge. The Xiphos is the highest-risk option since losing your block means one mistimed parry can cost you heavily, but the stun output is genuinely strong in the right hands.
If you are building around Sophia's active abilities, pair the Sica with skills that extend or amplify Focus effects. For guidance on which skills to prioritize, the best skills to unlock first guide covers the optimal Resonance Point spending order for every playstyle.
How do Hero Tomb puzzles work?
Most blades are locked inside Hero Tombs, and every tomb uses the same core mechanic: Sophia's sphere in colored beam mode must hit three colored gem points simultaneously to open the sealed entrance. The challenge is finding the correct standing position, since the angle of the beams changes depending on where you are in the room.
The general approach for every puzzle:
- Locate the green gem, which is always on the base of the main statue or pillar near the tomb entrance.
- Find the platform or metal circle marked on the ground nearby — that is almost always the intended standing spot.
- Aim at the green gem first to lock the base beam, then rotate to align the red and blue beams with their respective targets.
- Once all three points are lit, the floor or door to the tomb opens.
For the Xiphos specifically, smash the clay jars in the area before placing the sphere in the pedestal, since one of the gem points is hidden behind them.
