Anime Galaxies launched into early access on Roblox and the unit pool is already deep enough to waste serious time on the wrong picks. This guide ranks every unit from S to D tier, breaks down exactly what each top pick does mechanically, and pairs the rankings with a full Traits guide so you know which bonuses to slot before you burn 400 Trait Crystals on the wrong unit.

The rankings below reflect the early access meta. Positioning, activation conditions, and combo potential all factor in alongside raw damage numbers. Two units are still marked TBA pending further testing.

What makes a unit S tier in Anime Galaxies?

Raw damage matters, but S tier in Anime Galaxies requires more than big numbers. The top units combine personal damage output with something the whole team benefits from: a buff aura, crowd control, economy generation, or reliable AoE coverage. Units that only do one thing well tend to land in A or B tier.

Positioning and activation conditions separate the truly top picks from the merely strong ones. Stork needs 10 studs of clear space to trigger his Solitude multiplier. Goju needs enemies inside the inner 40% of his range to benefit from his aura damage. Sokonu needs dense waves to fuel his kill-triggered effects. Getting these conditions right is what separates a good player from a great one.

Follow-up attacks in Anime Galaxies use the unit's current damage stat but do not count as normal attacks and do not trigger on-attack or on-hit effects. Damage-over-time percentages refer to total damage over the stated duration unless a tick interval is specified.

Anime Galaxies Tier List: Best Units & Traits Ranked

S tier units

Roger (Pirate King)

Roger is the closest thing to a complete unit in the current roster. His attacks stun for 2.5 seconds on a 12-second trigger cooldown, bypass shields, and every fifth attack deals a 150% damage follow-up that splashes enemies within 6 studs. That combination handles shielded targets and clustered waves simultaneously.

His team ability, Captain of the Seas, gives every unit inside his range a 10% damage bonus. The buff does not stack, so overlapping Roger auras do not multiply the bonus. Position him to cover several of your damage dealers along a meaningful stretch of the path and the bonus pays dividends throughout the entire run.

Sokonu (King)

Sokonu is built for dense waves. Above 50% enemy HP, his attacks apply a three-second Bleed worth 50% of his damage. Below 50% HP, he gains 30% bonus damage. Every 15 takedowns primes a 200% follow-up against every enemy in range, and kills spread a four-second Burn worth 40% damage to nearby enemies within 6 studs.

His Shrine of Calamity ability opens a five-second Domain every 40 seconds that deals 50% of his damage every half-second to enemies inside. Against isolated bosses his takedown-dependent effects contribute less, but his health-scaled bonuses and timed Domain still apply. Place him where enemies stay inside his coverage.

Spedwag

If you have played any Anime TD game on Roblox, you already know what Spedwag does. Farm units are non-negotiable in any serious team comp, and Spedwag is the best one in Anime Galaxies. Every team should run him. Full stop.

Stork (Resurrection)

Stork fires a Soul Wolf on every third attack for a 90% damage follow-up in a 5-stud radius. From Upgrade 3, his Solitude passive increases those explosions by 1.5 times when no other unit is within 10 studs, pushing the follow-up to 135% damage.

His Lupine Barrage adds six 30% damage follow-ups over three seconds every 25 seconds, with random targeting that spreads shots across available enemies. Leave space around Stork deliberately. Solitude only boosts Soul Wolf explosions, not every part of his kit.

Goju (Six Eyes)

Goju rewards tight positioning. His Infinite Distance aura deals 6% of his damage every second to enemies inside the inner 40% of his range. His Reversal Burst adds an 80% damage follow-up every fourth attack, hitting enemies within 6 studs of the target.

Maximizing his visible range circle is not enough. Enemies at the outer edge of his range miss the aura damage entirely. Place him near a bend or a section your control units can hold enemies in. Foji and Megomu both extend enemy exposure time, making them natural partners.

A tier units

Ishgo (Perfect Mask)

Ishgo builds a 15-point Hollow Gauge with each hit. Filling it triggers eight seconds of Rage, during which attacks apply a three-second Bleed worth 60% of his damage. From Upgrade 3, every third attack produces a 60% damage follow-up against the target and up to two extra enemies within 6 studs.

His output is less immediate than the top S tier picks because Rage requires a buildup period and his follow-up is capped at three targets. Keep him on a busy stretch of the path so he builds gauge consistently.

Megomu (Shadows)

Megomu brings control and damage together. His Divine Hounds applies a 50% Slow for four seconds on a seven-second trigger cooldown. Hunting Pack adds a 60% damage follow-up when he hits a slowed enemy. His Chimera Garden Domain opens every 30 seconds for eight seconds, dealing 5% of his damage every half-second to enemies inside.

Pair him with another Slow source and place him where several damage dealers share coverage. Foji is the natural partner because his 60% Slow creates separate windows for Hunting Pack to proc. The precise timing of that interaction still needs confirmation.

Foji

Foji earns his A tier spot through two things most units cannot offer in the same slot: air-and-ground targeting and reliable crowd control. His Gravity Press applies a 60% Slow for three seconds, triggering at most once every six seconds.

Most Anime Galaxies units only hit ground targets. Foji covers both, which makes him a permanent roster fixture even after you acquire stronger damage units. His Slow also creates the conditions Megomu's Hunting Pack needs. Keep him for coverage and control at every stage of the game.

B and C tier units

The four B tier Legendaries (Gen, Kitzaru, Natzo, Kizua) are placeholder units. Use them to fill combat slots while you build toward the confirmed core picks. None of them have standout mechanics that justify long-term investment.

C tier Epics (Gowko, Itodoki, Hippo, Vegira) and D tier Rares are starter units only. Replace them the moment you have better options. Vegira specifically is worth selling outright.

Anime Galaxies Tier List: Best Units & Traits Ranked

Best Anime Galaxies Traits

Anime Galaxies handles Traits differently from most Roblox tower defense games. There is no gacha and no rerolling. You spend Trait Crystals on a unit, hit a milestone, and pick exactly the Trait you want from that rarity bucket.

Trait Crystal milestone ladder

Crystals RequiredSlot UnlockedRecommended Default Pick
10RareEnraged 1
30EpicEnraged 2
100LegendaryHyper Speed (Bounty Hunter on Spedwag)
400MythicChosen (flexible) or Galactic (single carry)

The 400-crystal Mythic wall is the real grind, but the upside is genuine choice rather than RNG. Do not over-invest Trait Crystals into a unit before you know it is staying on your team. Burning 400 crystals into a placeholder is the most expensive mistake in the game.

What is the best Mythic Trait?

Galactic applies a massive damage increase to a single placed unit. If your team runs one clear main carry, Galactic turns that unit into a boss-melting engine. The single-placement cap means it leaves value on the table when you spread damage across two or three carries.

Chosen gives extra damage, shorter cooldowns, and more range without the single-placement restriction. It is the better default pick for players who run several units and want the whole team to feel stronger rather than just one centerpiece.

Pick Chosen if you are not sure what your team will look like after a few more stages. Pick Galactic if you already know which unit is carrying the run. Re-picking is not free, so commit once you have watched your team in action.

What is the best Legendary Trait?

Hyper Speed applies a 22.5% cooldown reduction, which works out to roughly 29% more attacks over time on a unit that can keep attacking. It is especially strong on ability-driven carries. Stork's Soul Wolves and Goju's Reversal Burst are the classic fits.

One caveat: faster attacks do not shorten separate fixed passive cooldowns. If a unit's strongest ability ticks on its own timer regardless of attack speed, Hyper Speed helps the rest of the kit but does not accelerate that specific passive.

Bounty Hunter is mandatory on Spedwag. It boosts farm income and reduces placement and upgrade costs. Slot it the moment Spedwag hits 100 Trait Crystals.

Marksman adds range, which matters on maps where pathing forces enemies out of your coverage zone. Disaster gives a large damage bonus against enemies below 40% HP, making it a finisher specialist rather than an all-stage default. Wraith sits lower overall but is the right pick for a dedicated boss killer. Perceptive grants extra XP and is worth using during early progression, but replace it once a unit hits its level cap.

Best Epic and Rare Traits

Enraged (Enraged 1 at Rare, Enraged 2 at Epic) is the safe default at both rarities. The damage bonus flows into abilities that scale off the unit's damage stat, including timed damage effects.

Dedicated (Dedicated 1 at Rare, Dedicated 2 at Epic) is a sustained basic-attack DPS bonus. On units whose kit revolves around auto-attacks and attack-count passives, Dedicated can edge out Enraged. The difference is small enough that the unit's mechanics should make the final call.

Sniper adds range at both rarities. Pick it when your main pain point is enemies slipping out of coverage rather than raw damage output.

Team building tips

The core of any Anime Galaxies team is Spedwag for economy, one primary damage carry (Roger or Sokonu at the top of the list), and Foji for air coverage and Slow. From there, add Megomu if you want a second control source, and Stork or Goju as a secondary damage dealer depending on the map layout.

Roger's Captain of the Seas buff does not stack from multiple Rogers, so one copy is the ceiling. Place him to cover as many damage dealers as possible and let his stun buy the team time on tougher waves.

For players exploring other anime-style tower defense games on the platform, our Anime Vanguards best units tier list and Anime Crusaders tier list use the same role-based approach and are worth checking alongside this guide. If you want to compare unit rankings across even more titles, the full Roblox guides collection has tier lists for Anime Squadron, Anime Origins, and several other games in the genre.

Anime Galaxies is still in early access and the meta will shift as more units are tested and balance patches arrive. Check back as Zid and Joren's full mechanics are confirmed, and revisit your Trait choices whenever a new unit enters your long-term roster.
