Anime Origins launched on Roblox with 37 units at global release, and the gap between the top tier and the rest is steep. Flying waves punish bad team compositions hard, farm economy matters more the longer a run goes, and boss control can single-handedly save a failed attempt. Getting the right units early saves you a lot of rerolling later.
The table below covers all Secret, Mythic, and Limited units worth tracking. C-tier picks at the bottom are only useful for the first hour or so before you replace them.
| Tier | Units |
|---|---|
| S | Cursed Lover (Pure Love), Valcrad (Unleashed), Madaro (Edo Tensei), Bon (Purgatory), Bluma (Data Analyst), Tango (Star of Festivals) |
| A | Vegita (Super), Aneko (Queen), Goju (Honored One), Igritto (Commander), Sosuke (Eternal), Tojei (Sorcerer Killer), Melio (Assault), Starku (Primordial), Noroto (Linked), Goki (Super 3), Shinoru (Butterfly Dance), Yoto (Calamity) |
| B | Konpatchi (Unleashed), Mykie (Toman), Roxi (Mage), Gyutari (Upper Moon), Itsugo (Dangai), Zeldo (Piety), Itsugo (Transcendent), Itsoda |
| C | Leorio, Choto, Hido, Itaki, Itsoda, Kengako, Kingo, Taki, Neli, Rose, Semanu, Tranko |
S-tier in Anime Origins is not just about raw damage numbers. The best units combine damage output with team utility, boss control, or economy value that stays relevant across every mode.
Cursed Lover is the most flexible unit in the game right now. The Copy ability lets him store up to 4 active abilities from teammates, giving him a ceiling that no other unit can match. On top of that, his own kit pulls its weight: Love Beam hits 5 times for a total of 300% damage, and Lingering Queens Heads adds consistent AoE pressure between those windows. Best traits to target are Immortal or Overseer.

Anime Origins Tier List: Best Units and Traits Ranked
Valcrad has one of the most complete kits at launch. Permanent Range scaling on crits, a bleed damage bonus, summons, and Coffin Trap (a 7-second single-target boss stun, once per boss) make him terrifying in both wave clearing and boss content. Rupture is the strongest everyday trait here because it supercharges his crit side, while Immortal is the jackpot roll if RNG cooperates.
Madaro applies constant AoE pressure through Heaven's Pressure and Calamity marks that detonate for bonus damage. His active ability, Heaven Splitter, deals 500% damage with extended range and also punishes enemies that slip outside his normal range. Best traits: Immortal or Overseer.
Bon does more jobs than almost any other unit. He generates extra income on kills, provides random meal buffs to allies every wave (Damage, Cooldown, Range, or Crit), and contributes real DPS alongside flyer coverage. The Master Chef Sushi meal buff in particular can turn a main carry into something terrifying for a full minute. Target Overseer to keep his own combat output relevant while he supports the team.
Bluma is the gold standard for economy. Her Training Data mechanic generates income from allied kills and scales up to a +30% Income bonus at max stacks. She is most valuable in Infinite Mode and any run that lasts more than a few waves, where that economy snowball makes expensive team compositions actually viable. Roll Hustler on her without hesitation.
Tango stacks Cooldown reduction through Musical Score, then applies Brittle so enemies take +10% damage from all sources. His standout feature is Flashy Combo, which delivers a 15-second single-target stun on bosses. That is the longest boss stun available at launch. Best trait is Stride, which accelerates his tempo scaling even further.

Anime Origins Tier List: Best Units and Traits Ranked
Vegita (Super) is the best accessible Hill unit in the game. He is easy to evolve early, synergizes with Goki for a +25% Crit Chance bonus when they are nearby, and builds Resolve stacks for temporary Damage and SPA buffs. Rupture is the best trait and makes the crit angle genuinely threatening.
Aneko (Queen) provides full AoE Hill coverage and deals more damage as enemies lose health, making her excellent against groups. She is a reliable alternative when Vegita is not available. Target Stride to keep her attack tempo consistent.

Anime Origins Tier List: Best Units and Traits Ranked
Igritto (Commander) spikes hard once Frenzy comes online, with a lingering +35% Damage and -20% Cooldown after Frenzy ends. Rupture is the natural trait pick to maximize those burst windows.
Sosuke (Eternal) offers sustained pressure through Lightning Mode stacking and Black Flame burn, with a recurring Susano AoE that keeps him relevant against both waves and bosses. Decay leans into the Black Flame angle; Stride is better if you want faster cycling.
Tojei (Sorcerer Killer) is one of the more dependable ground damage options without requiring gimmicky team setups. He fits comfortably into most ground-heavy lineups. Rupture is the safest trait; Joker is a higher-ceiling alternative.
Noroto (Linked) gets major power spikes during his Nine-Tails Cloak transformation: boosted Damage, Cooldown reduction, and Range, plus AoE bursts on every third attack. Stride pushes more attacks into those Cloak windows; Overseer is the safer raw-stat option.
Starku (Primordial) rewards smart placement. Give him space and he returns bonus Damage, bonus Range, and solid lane control through Lone Gunslinger positioning. Gun Smoke adds built-in slow synergy. Target Overseer or Rupture depending on whether you want consistency or aggression.
Yoto (Calamity) stacks permanent Damage as enemies die, making her excellent in extended stages. The current ground roster is crowded, which limits her priority, but Overseer keeps her consistently useful.

Anime Origins Tier List: Best Units and Traits Ranked
Goju (Honored One) is the best pure crowd control option. Infinity nullifies attacks on himself, Infinity Expansion applies strong slows, and Time Stop handles dangerous enemies. He is not a damage dealer, but his stalling value protects your main DPS effectively. Hawkeye is the safer utility trait; Joker offers more upside.
Shinoru (Butterfly Dance) applies Adaptive Poison and Wound, which reduces enemy healing by 80%. That healing reduction is not a gimmick: against regenerative or tanky enemies it is a real performance difference. Decay is the obvious top trait.
Mykie (Toman) provides personal steroid windows through Dark Impulses (+25% Damage and -25% Cooldown every 30 seconds) and a team buff through Charismatic Leader. Overseer is the cleanest all-round trait.
Goki (Super 3) builds Fighting Spirit stacks for additional Damage and Crit Chance, making him a strong boss-focused secondary carry. Overseer is the safest trait investment.
| Unit | Role | Key Strength | Best Trait |
|---|---|---|---|
| Konpatchi (Unleashed) | Ground | Reliable damage, no complex conditions | Overseer |
| Gyutari (Upper Moon) | Ground | Blood Cuts and Bleed for wave value | Decay |
| Itsugo (Dangai) | Ground | Scales with path distance | Ascendant |
| Itsugo (Transcendent) | Ground | Higher burst than Dangai, more investment | Ascendant |
| Zeldo (Piety) | Ground | Boss-oriented pressure, team-dependent | Ascendant |
| Melio (Assault) | Support | Pull, petrify, burn, slow, resistance shred | Overseer |
| Roxi (Mage) | Support | Drenched (15% slow + 10% Magic Damage taken) | Stride |
| Mykie (Toman) | Support | Dark Impulses personal steroid | Overseer |
| Itsoda | Hill | Reliable elevated coverage | Ascendant |
Melio (Assault) deserves a note here. His rotating Commandments cover pull, petrify, burn, slow, resistance shred, and team buffs, which sounds incredible until you realize you cannot control which effect activates at any given moment. The flexibility is real, but the unreliability keeps him out of A-tier.
Roxi (Mage) applies Drenched on every second attack (15% slow plus 10% Magic Damage taken) and extends Freeze duration. She gets noticeably better in Magic-heavy team compositions but falls off in late-game content.

Anime Origins Tier List: Best Units and Traits Ranked
Traits are the second layer of optimization in Anime Origins. Getting the right trait on the right unit can push a strong pick into a genuinely oppressive one.
| Tier | Traits |
|---|---|
| S | Immortal, Overseer, Rupture, Decay, Ascendant |
| A | Hustler, Stride, Joker, Ace, Nimble, Head Hunter, Looting |
| B | Hawkeye, Haste III, Fury III, Reach III, Scholar |
| C | Haste II, Fury II, Reach II |
| D | Haste I, Fury I, Reach I |
Immortal (Secret rarity, 0.1% chance, pity at 1300 rolls) gives +200% Damage, -15% Cooldown, +20% Range, and +25% Income, plus a once-per-match AoE kill effect after Wave 10. Only one unit per team can hold it. If you land this on a premium carry, stop rerolling.
Overseer (Mythic, 4.05% chance, pity at 900 rolls) gives +20% Damage, -5% Cooldown, +10% Range, and 30% bonus True Damage. No build requirements, no gimmicks. It is the safest best-in-slot roll for general DPS carries.
Rupture (Mythic, 4.05% chance, pity at 550 rolls) gives +30% Crit Chance and +35% Crit Damage. On units like Valcrad and Vegita whose kits already lean into crits, this is legitimately best-in-slot. On units that do not care about crits, skip it.
Decay (Mythic, 4.05% chance, pity at 425 rolls) gives +40% DoT Damage, -10% Cooldown, and +10% Range. The obvious pick for Bleed, Burn, and Poison units like Gyutari and Shinoru.
Ascendant (Mythic, 4.05% chance, pity at 325 rolls) gives +35% Boss Damage, +10% Damage, and +10% Range. Strong for boss-focused content; less dominant during ordinary wave clearing.
Hustler (Mythic, 4.05% chance) gives +30% Income and +15% Range. Do not waste this on a DPS unit. On Bluma, it is essentially mandatory.
Stride (Mythic, 4.05% chance, pity at 475 rolls) trades -10% Damage for up to -30% total Cooldown reduction at full Tempo stacks, plus bonus Range. The catch: Tempo resets if the unit goes 5 seconds without attacking. On high-frequency attackers like Tango, the payoff is enormous.

Madaro Heaven Splitter active
The strongest general-purpose team at launch runs two ground DPS units from S or A tier, one Hill unit (Vegita or Aneko), one support or control unit (Goju or Bon), and Bluma for economy in longer modes.
For boss-heavy content, swap Bluma for a second control unit or bring Goki to stack Fighting Spirit. For Infinite Mode, Bluma becomes non-negotiable because the income scaling compounds over time in a way that makes expensive carries actually achievable.
The Vegita and Goki pairing is worth building around early. The +25% Crit Chance synergy when they are nearby is one of the few passive bonuses in the game that requires zero setup and pays off immediately.
