To get the D.R.E.D. Rod in Fisch, complete Dr. Anton’s five quests in the Underground Music Venue, including the final timed databank challenge. This Roblox rod unlock requires a Power Source, mutated catches, four specific specimens, and Battery Casings before that last run.

The catches are the part to plan around. Charging Up alone needs 115 qualifying electric fish and nine Cursed fish, while Calibration Specimens adds Shiny or Sparkling requirements to specific mutation targets. Prepare the recommended rods and enchantments before farming those stages.

What do you need before starting Dr. Anton’s quest?

Find Dr. Anton inside the Underground Music Venue and speak to him to activate his questline. D.R.E.D. arrived with the Venue Encore update, and unlocking it takes five missions completed in sequence. Return to Anton after each stage to receive the next task.

Your first access requirement is level 800, which you need for Sophisticated Glorp’s shop. That shop supplies the Power Source for Anton’s opening mission, so check your level before making the trip to Roslit Bay.

What makes the D.R.E.D. Rod worth unlocking?

D.R.E.D.’s main draw is guaranteed duplication of directly caught fish, backed by two valuable mutation rolls. Its cannon-shaped design also comes with a less conventional fishing mechanic: you manage two fish inside the control bar instead of one.

StatValue
Lure Speed145%
Luck255%
Control0.22
Resilience35%
Maximum weightInfinite kg
Progress Speed+30%
Disturbance+3

The two mutation passives have different chances and sell multipliers:

MutationApplication chanceSell multiplier
Reality-Torn25%9.35x
Unstable35%7x

Those rewards give you a reason to tackle the quest’s demanding catches. Getting the full benefit during fishing still depends on handling D.R.E.D.’s two-fish minigame, covered below. These are its Venue Encore stats; check the current equipment panel after balance updates.

How do you buy the Power Source?

The Power Source comes from Sophisticated Glorp’s shop at Roslit Bay. Use your GPS to reach coordinates -1716.2, 155.0, 502.7. The Fisch Power Source and Glorp Shop guide covers this purchase if you need a separate shop walkthrough.

Glorp trades in Glorp Bux, which you earn by selling fish with the Gleebous mutation. The amount you receive depends on each fish’s rarity and weight.

To complete the purchase:

  • Catch Gleebous-mutated fish.
  • Speak to Sophisticated Glorp and choose Sell my Gleebous fish.
  • Open Show me your shop once you have enough Glorp Bux.
  • Select Purchase for the Power Source.

Take the Power Source back to Dr. Anton. Handing it over finishes the opening mission and moves you into Charging Up.

How do you complete Charging Up?

Charging Up has two catch requirements: 115 fish with the Electric, Electric Shock, or Electrified mutations, plus nine Cursed fish. The electric requirement is a combined total across the qualifying mutations.

Which setup should you use for electric fish?

Use Zeus Thundermaul with the Storming enchantment, then activate a Tempest Totem. This setup lets you work on the electric catches anywhere rather than requiring a particular fishing location.

The Zeus Rod and Tempest Rod are also options for this stage. Follow the quest counter as you fish so you can track the combined 115-catch requirement.

Where do you catch the Cursed fish?

Catch the nine Cursed fish in a Cursed Pool during a Cursed Storm. A Cursed Totem improves your odds. Use the Fisch Cursed Storm and Cursed Fish guide for help triggering the event and finding its pool.

Once both catch requirements are complete, return to Dr. Anton to begin Calibration Specimens.

Which catches satisfy Calibration Specimens?

Calibration Specimens requires one of each fish below. Every catch must have its specified mutation and be either Shiny or Sparkling. All four targets are caught in Crimson Cavern.

Use the Glittered or Blessed enchantment with the recommended rod for each target:

FishRequired mutationRecommended rod
Colossal Blue DragonStormyWind Elemental Rod in Water Mode
Colossal Ancient DragonIgneousIgneous Rupturer Rod
FrostwyrmObsidianChasm Stalker Rod
LeviathanSoultouchedHades’ Soul-Scythe Rod

The requirement combines the fish, its mutation, and its Shiny or Sparkling quality. For example, the Colossal Blue Dragon needs Stormy alongside either Shiny or Sparkling to match Anton’s target.

Bring the completed set back to Dr. Anton. His next mission changes the task entirely: Radio Power sends you fishing for Battery Casings.

Where do you farm Battery Casings for Radio Power?

Radio Power requires five Battery Casings. You can fish them up in the Mineshaft, where their base catch chance is 1%.

Follow this route to reach the fishing area:

  • Spawn your boat and travel to Sunstone Island.
  • Drop into the Chasm.
  • Enter the Mineshaft and start fishing.

Equip a rod with the Scavenger enchantment and use Magnet or Garbage bait to improve your odds of catching Battery Casings. The 1% base chance makes this the quest’s dedicated item-farming stage.

Return all five Battery Casings to Dr. Anton to unlock Data Retrieval, the final mission.

How do you finish Data Retrieval before time runs out?

Data Retrieval gives you five minutes to scan five databanks spread across different islands. A countdown appears at the top of the screen, and map markers show the objectives you need to reach.

Start your route at Moosewood and spawn your boat. Follow the marked databanks one by one, approaching each closely enough to hold E and scan it.

Your final-stage checklist is:

  • Set out from Moosewood by boat.
  • Follow the marked databank locations.
  • Hold E at each databank to perform its scan.
  • Finish all five scans within the five-minute limit.
  • Return to Dr. Anton to claim the D.R.E.D. Rod.

The markers are your navigation reference for this stage. Keep moving between the five objectives, complete each scan, and make the final return to Anton once the challenge is cleared.

How do D.R.E.D.’s two fish and OVERDRIVE work?

D.R.E.D. adds a second fish to the fishing minigame, with one arriving from another dimension. Your job is to keep both fish inside the control bar. Covering both gives 1x progress gain; covering only one reduces that rate to 0.4x.

That difference makes control-bar placement more important than the rod’s impressive Luck stat might suggest. D.R.E.D. rewards keeping track of both targets rather than following just one fish.

How does the charge cycle work?

D.R.E.D.’s passive cycle adds progress and temporarily locks the fish inside the control bar:

TriggerProgress effectFish lock duration
Every 4 seconds+10% progress and +1 charge0.6 seconds
Reach 3 chargesOVERDRIVE consumes all charges and grants +30% progress2.5 seconds

OVERDRIVE! is the payoff for reaching three charges. It spends the stored charges, delivers its progress bonus, and holds both fish inside the bar for the longer lock duration.

What are the falling dimensional items?

At the start of a D.R.E.D. minigame, there is a 15% chance for an item from another dimension to fall onto the fish and grant bonus progress. The possible items have different bonuses:

  • Tire: +10% progress.
  • Fischpanion Cube: +15% progress.
  • Toxic Waste: +20% progress.
  • Scrap Metal: +25% progress.
  • Fridge: +30% progress.
  • Grand Piano: +50% progress.

Once Dr. Anton hands over D.R.E.D., the Fisch Record Breaker Rod guide gives you another rod unlock to work toward.

For D.R.E.D. itself, build the habit of covering both fish. That maintains the full progress rate while the rod cycles toward three charges, then OVERDRIVE supplies its +30% progress burst and 2.5-second lock.
