Kick a Lucky Block has a mutation system that completely changes how fast you earn money. A standard brainrot sitting on your plot is fine early on, but once you understand how mutations work, you will never look at a plain one the same way again. There are currently 10 tracked mutations in the game, ranging from the common Gold tier all the way up to Rainbow, which is a 1-in-20,000 roll. This guide covers every mutation, its exact multiplier, its drop rate where known, and the most efficient ways to push your luck in the right direction on Roblox.

Mutation tags above brainrots
What are mutations in Kick a Lucky Block?
Mutations are modifiers that attach to a brainrot when it drops from a lucky block. They show up as tags above the brainrot's head and change its visual appearance, usually adding a glow or a distinct color effect. More importantly, they apply a cash multiplier to everything that brainrot earns and sells for. Without mutations, your income plateaus hard in the mid-game because upgrade costs scale faster than base brainrot earnings. A single Radioactive brainrot earning 8x what a standard one does can fund several upgrade cycles on its own.
One important rule confirmed across multiple sources: a brainrot can only carry one mutation at a time. There is no stacking, no replacing, and no way to add a second mutation to an existing one.

The table below lists every known mutation as tracked by community sources, including drop rates where they have been documented. The Virus and Void mutations currently have unknown drop rates.

The Shadow and Electrified mutations were added in a recent update, confirmed by Pro Game Guides on May 2, 2026. If you have not seen them drop yet, they are in the game, just very rare.

How do you get mutations in Kick a Lucky Block?
Every kick of a lucky block is an independent RNG roll. The drop rates above represent your odds on any single kick, so the only reliable path to rare mutations is volume. That said, three mechanics directly improve your odds.
Perfect Kicks
Timing your kick to land on the Perfect indicator gives a luck boost for that specific block. The game signals a successful Perfect Kick with a visual pop-up and a distinct sound cue. Over hundreds of kicks, consistently hitting Perfect timing meaningfully increases how often Gold and Diamond mutations appear, and nudges the odds on rarer tiers too.
Global Luck Events
The developers trigger server-wide Global Luck Events periodically. These last up to 5 minutes and can apply a 2x, 4x, or 8x server-wide boost to mutation chances. According to Pro Game Guides, these events spawn randomly, so you cannot schedule around them, but you can react fast when one starts. Drop everything else and kick as many blocks as possible for the event's duration.
Mutation Luck Gamepass
The Mutation Luck Gamepass costs 139 Robux and permanently doubles your mutation chances. It stacks with both Perfect Kicks and Global Luck Events. If you plan to play long-term, this is the highest-value purchase in the game because the bonus never expires.
Save any Luck Potions for the moment a Global Luck Event activates. Stacking a potion on top of the event boost and the Mutation Luck Gamepass creates the highest possible luck window for chasing Shadow, Electrified, or Rainbow drops.
What is the best mutation in Kick a Lucky Block?
Rainbow is the highest multiplier in the game at 30x, but at 1 in 20,000 it is more of a lottery ticket than a farming target. For practical progression, Shadow (12x, 1 in 2,000) and Electrified (16x, 1 in 5,000) are the realistic end-game goals. Getting even one Electrified brainrot on your plot doubles the output of two Radioactive ones combined.
For early-to-mid game, target Radioactive (8x, 1 in 333) as your benchmark. Once your plot is filled with Radioactive brainrots, you can start selling Gold and Diamond duplicates for cash injections without losing meaningful income.
Do not sell a Molten or Radioactive brainrot unless your plot already has multiple copies. The 6x and 8x multipliers are hard to replace and losing them sets your income back significantly.

How to farm mutations efficiently
Raw kick volume is the foundation, but minimizing time between kicks matters just as much. Here is the routine that squeezes the most mutation attempts per session.
- Clear low-tier brainrots from your inventory before starting. Selling Gold and Diamond variants you no longer need frees up slots and gives you cash for upgrades.
- Check for upcoming events. If a Global Luck Event timer is visible, hold your Luck Potions until it starts.
- Position near fast respawn spots. Reducing travel time between blocks can increase your kick count by 15 to 20 percent per hour, according to community testing documented on kickaluckyblock.wiki.
- Hit Perfect every kick. Mindless clicking wastes the timing bonus. Each Perfect Kick is a free luck boost that costs nothing.
- Upgrade Kick Power first. Higher Kick Power lets you cycle through blocks faster and reach better rarity zones. The kickaluckyblock.net progression guide lists Kick Power as the priority upgrade before chasing mutations.
Should you keep Gold mutations in the late game?
No. Gold at 1.5x is useful for getting your first few income upgrades, but by the time you have a stable Radioactive or Plasma setup, Gold brainrots are just taking up plot space. Sell them and use the cash to fund your next round of weight or speed upgrades. The same logic applies to Diamond once you have Plasma covered.
Frequently asked questions
Can brainrots have multiple mutations? No. Each brainrot carries exactly one mutation, and you cannot add, remove, or swap it out.
Do luck boosts stack? Yes. Luck sources in Kick a Lucky Block are multiplicative. A Mutation Luck Gamepass active during a Global Luck Event produces significantly higher combined odds than either one alone.
When does gifting unlock? Gifting becomes available on your second calendar day of playing, not after 24 hours of playtime. Log in today, and it unlocks tomorrow.
Will more mutations be added? Based on the pattern of Shadow and Electrified being added in a recent update, more tiers are likely. Pro Game Guides noted this explicitly in their May 2, 2026 update. Bookmark this page and check back after major patches.
