Capacitors are the one resource in Star Wars Zero Company that you simply cannot buy. No vendor, no shortcut. Every single one has to be earned through specific missions, Zone Influence milestones, or the right Operation choices, and the campaign's total supply is fixed. Spend them carelessly early on and you'll hit the Upgrade Facility wall right when the missions get harder.
What are Capacitors used for in Zero Company?
Capacitors go exclusively toward permanent upgrades at the Upgrade Facility tab inside your Den. These aren't cosmetic unlocks. The upgrades behind Capacitor costs include things like better Black Market inventory, higher Influence caps, and additional Upgrade Facility Slots, all of which compound across the rest of the campaign. Because the supply is hard-capped, deciding which upgrade you're saving toward before you start spending is smarter than grabbing the first thing that becomes available.
Your current Capacitor count sits with your other resources in the top-right corner of the screen. After completing any mission or crossing a Zone Influence threshold, check that number immediately. If it hasn't moved, either the mission failed, or a Zone's Influence bar stopped just short of the tier threshold instead of crossing it. Open the Influence tab and look at exactly where the bar sits to diagnose which one it was.

Star Wars Zero Company Guide: How to Get Capacitors
How to get Capacitors from missions
Story and side missions are the most consistent source across the whole campaign. The key habit to build is checking the Rewards panel on every Holotable mission node before you launch anything. That panel lists whether a Capacitor is part of the payout, and skipping that check is the most common way players miss out.
The single best mission for Capacitor farming is Smugglers' Den, found during the Jedi Undercover chapter at Courtsilius. It pays out +3,000 Credits and +1 Capacitor on completion. Beyond that standout, scan every available node in each Cycle because nodes expire when the Cycle ends, and any Capacitor reward attached to them disappears with them permanently.
- Check the Rewards panel on every Holotable node before launching.
- Prioritize nodes that list a Capacitor icon over those that don't when you have to choose.
- Optional contracts on the Holotable can also carry Capacitor rewards, so don't skip them.
- Complete missions successfully. Deployment alone does not trigger rewards.

How do Zone Influence tiers reward Capacitors?
Each Zone has three Influence tiers. Hit the threshold and the reward triggers automatically, no extra steps needed. The thresholds are the same across all Zones:

Not every Zone pays out Capacitors at every tier, so checking a Zone's full reward ladder before deciding where to pour your Influence is worth the few seconds it takes. Two Zones stand out:
- Zone Herf Tier 1 pays +1 Capacitor and also unlocks Bond XP and other rewards at later tiers.
- Zone Dorn Tier 2 pays +2 Capacitors, which is the largest single Influence milestone payout in the game. Zone Dorn Tier 3 rewards an entire Upgrade Facility Slot.
Use the Influence tab to track your progress bars actively. Upgrades like Networking grant +2 Contacts Influence and can help push bars over thresholds faster.
Which Operations give Capacitors?
Operations on the Den's Holotable branch across multiple Cycles and often force you to choose between two outcomes. The Capacitor branch usually locks the alternative reward permanently, so knowing which choice to make before you're in the moment matters. Here are every confirmed Operation that can pay out a Capacitor:
The three Critical Operations (Back Channels, Quid Pro Quo, Job Ain't Done) should be your priority. They each carry additional benefits beyond the Capacitor itself, and the Quid Pro Quo option stacks Zone Herf Influence on top of the Capacitor payout, which can push you toward that Tier 1 milestone faster. The injury risk on the team deployment is real, so make sure your operators are in good shape before committing.

Where to spend Capacitors first
Head to the upgrade terminal in the Den and open the Facilities tab. Permanent upgrades list both a Credit cost and a Capacitor cost. Anything you can't afford yet stays locked until your count catches up. The upgrades that expand your Black Market inventory and raise Influence caps tend to pay off earlier in the campaign than others, since both affect how many resources you're generating on every subsequent Cycle.
Plan your spending before your first Capacitor lands rather than after. The supply is too tight to course-correct mid-campaign if you spend early on a lower-priority upgrade.
