Subnautica 2 base building guide: 8 ...

The Power Center turbine at Angel Ruins represents the current endpoint of Subnautica 2's main storyline, and it's not a simple flip-a-switch moment. There's a multi-step sequence involving terminal puzzles, a broken turbine repair, and a locked Axum tower that only opens after everything else is done. Miss one step and you'll be swimming in circles wondering why nothing works.

What do you need before starting the turbine puzzle?

Before you touch a single terminal at the Power Center, you need the fourth Angel Comb unlocked. This is non-negotiable. The fourth Angel Comb gives you the ability to interact with Axum technology, which powers every interactive element in this sequence.

To unlock it, you'll need to shoot four sets of infected Bloom Clankers (each set has a fair nearby) to revive the adult Angel Comb located at the base of the Power Center itself. Each set of Bloom Clankers must be cleared before the Angel Comb fully revives. Check out the Subnautica 2 Feedback Resonator guide if you're still working through earlier Angel Comb steps, since that covers Root Canyon progression you'll want completed first.

How to turn on the Power Center

Step 1: Release the locks at the terminal hub

Once the Angel Comb is active, turn 180 degrees away from it. You'll spot a terminal hub directly ahead. Head inside and interact with the terminal there. This releases the locks on the upper section and is the simplest interaction in the whole sequence.

Step 2: Navigate to the upper terminals

Swim upward from the terminal hub and you'll reach a room with a main terminal flanked by two side terminals. Interact with the left terminal to activate it. The right terminal, however, will flag a problem: part of the turbine is broken and needs repair before the system can come online.

Step 3: Scan and repair the broken turbine

Head straight toward the broken turbine. The damaged component will be highlighted, making it easy to spot. Pull out your Bioscanner and scan the broken part first. This reveals the repair recipe you'll need.

Once you have the recipe, switch to your Habitat Builder and use the required resources to rebuild the component. The game doesn't spell out exactly which materials you'll need ahead of time, so make sure your inventory is reasonably stocked before making the trip. If you're running low on processed materials, the Subnautica 2 Processor guide for crafting ingots covers exactly how to turn raw ore into the ingots you'll likely need here.

Step 4: Activate the locked terminal

With the turbine repaired, return to the terminal hub and interact with the terminal that was previously locked. It should now be accessible. Activating it completes the turbine restart sequence and powers up the Power Center.

What happens after the turbine is active?

This is where the payoff begins. Head back to the Research Outpost area at the entrance of the Alien Ruins. The tower entrance that was sealed before is now open. Walk up to the Axum door and interact with it to enter.

Inside, you'll find an Orrery. Scan it with your Bioscanner to record the data. Then return to your base and talk to Noa to read the message you just unlocked. This final interaction reveals story details about what happened at the Alien Ruins, making it the narrative conclusion of this storyline arc as of the current early access build.

What should you prepare before heading to the Power Center?

The repair step can catch you off guard if your inventory is light. After testing this sequence, the biggest friction point is arriving at the broken turbine without enough materials to complete the Habitat Builder repair on the spot. Stock up on basic crafting materials before making the trip.

Your Bioscanner needs to be in your inventory for two separate scans (the broken turbine component and the Orrery), so don't leave base without it. The Subnautica 2 oxygen and base power guide is worth checking before a deep dive like this one, since the Power Center area requires sustained underwater navigation.
