Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors throws you into Mad Forest without telling you where to go next. The world map contains 15 stages scattered across different zones, and nearly all of them stay locked until you hit specific milestones or reach certain levels inside dungeons you've already cleared. Skip those requirements and you'll loop the same few stages wondering why nothing new ever appears. This breakdown walks through every stage, its difficulty tier, the exact unlock condition, and the loot you get for beating it.
How does the world map work in Vampire Crawlers?
The map doesn't follow a single straight line. Poncle designed it with branching routes, so finishing one stage might unlock a direct follow-up while simultaneously placing a parallel zone behind a level gate. The first dungeon, Mad Forest (difficulty 1), opens the second you start the game. Everything else requires either beating the prior stage or hitting a set level inside a dungeon you've already accessed.
Difficulty ratings span from 1 to 9 across all 15 stages. Higher-tier zones typically drop stronger relics or unlock new crawlers, so pushing into the tougher content pays off even when the card RNG feels brutal.

Relic earned after stage clear
Which stages unlock crawlers?
Four stages give you new crawlers instead of relics. Berserk Wood awards Pugnala, Library Sanctum unlocks Giovanna, Milk Factory grants Poppea, and Gallo Tower delivers both Concetta and Gallo in one clear. That makes Gallo Tower the best single stage for expanding your roster, though you need to kill the Giant Enemy Crab boss inside before Meany Bridge opens.
If you want the full roster, check the complete character unlock guide for every method and gold cost across all 21 crawlers.
What are the best relics to target early?
Not all relics carry the same weight. The Gem Hammer from Mad Forest and the Overkill relic from Teeny Bridge both directly affect how your deck scales. Overkill feeds into one of the game's most satisfying damage loops, and Teeny Bridge only asks you to hit Level 15 inside Dairy Plant rather than finish the entire Dairy Plant chain, so you can grab it before wrapping up that branch.
Stardust Anvil, also from Teeny Bridge, synergizes naturally with evolution builds. For the full breakdown of how evolutions work and which recipes hit hardest, the Vampire Crawlers evolutions guide covers every recipe and how to farm Evolution Gems.
How to reach the late-game stages efficiently
The road to Cappella Ultima (difficulty 9) runs through Meany Bridge and Capella Magna, neither of which gives you anything. The only reason to push this far is the Ovenkilt relic at the end and the satisfaction of clearing the hardest content in the base game.
The fastest route to the endgame:
- Clear Mad Forest, Furious Forest, and Berserk Wood back-to-back to unlock Pugnala and build early momentum.
- Hit Level 10 in Inlaid Library to open that branch, then push through to Library Sanctum for Giovanna and the Arcana Finder.
- Reach Level 15 in Inlaid Library separately to unlock Teeny Bridge and collect both the Stardust Anvil and Overkill relics.
- Finish Dairy Plant and Milk Factory for Poppea, then hit Level 15 inside Dairy Plant to unlock Weeny Bridge.
- Clear Weeny Bridge to access Gallo Tower, kill the Giant Enemy Crab, and collect four rewards at once.
- Push through Meany Bridge and Capella Magna to reach Cappella Ultima.
Surviving long enough to hit those level thresholds gets easier once you understand the healing options available. The healing methods guide explains all four recovery options, from floor chickens to Bloody Tear.
