World of Warcraft Forever is not another Classic re-release. Blizzard is rebuilding the original Azeroth from the ground up, adding over 1,000 new quests, four new zones, a brand new playable race, nine dungeons, and a Legacy progression system that rewards every character on your account. The level cap stays at 60, flying mounts stay grounded, and the original world structure remains intact. What changes is everything around it.
When does WoW Forever release?
World of Warcraft Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM PST. The game is included with an active WoW subscription or Game Time, so there is no separate expansion purchase required for the base experience.
Before launch, Blizzard is running a structured beta period starting September 17, 2026, with early character creation and name reservation opening on October 27. Players who reserve names can hold up to three character names through November 3.
How do you get WoW Forever beta access?
Beta access is not automatic. You can request an invite through Blizzard's official beta sign-up page, but an invitation is not guaranteed. The beta launches with a level 20 cap, which will increase to level 30 later in testing.
If you want guaranteed beta access, you need to purchase either the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection. The Skyborne Heroic Pack does not include beta access.
What editions are available?
The base game is subscription-included, but three optional upgrade packs add extra content, cosmetics, and the new Skyborne race.
The Skyborne race is locked behind a paid upgrade. Every other piece of base content is accessible through a standard subscription.

What new zones are coming?
Forever expands the original Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor rather than shipping players off to a new continent. Four new or expanded areas are confirmed.

Who are the Skyborne?
The Skyborne are a new elven race playable in WoW Forever. Their starting experience is on Zephras Isle, and during character creation you choose Alliance or Horde, which determines which classes are available to you.
Skyborne characters get unique racial abilities, custom animations, dedicated character customization options, and their own Druid forms. Access requires one of the three paid upgrade packs.

What new class and race combinations are available?
Six race-class combinations that were previously impossible are now unlocked.
Talent trees keep their Classic structure, but Blizzard is adding new and reworked talents throughout. A new 16-point milestone joins the existing 11-, 21-, and 31-point milestones. Each race will also have two active and two passive racial abilities.
Paladins are getting notable changes: Holy Strike becomes available at level 6, Consecration becomes a baseline ability at level 20, and Seals will remain active after using Judgment. More class adjustments are expected during beta.

What dungeons and raids are in WoW Forever?
Nine new dungeons are coming at launch across different level ranges. Confirmed locations include:

Raid content unlocks on December 9, 2026, about five weeks after launch.
Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit are entirely new raid experiences. Onyxia's Lair returns from the original game. New tier sets, Legendary weapons, and additional gear will be available through this content, with more raids planned throughout 2027.

How does the Legacy System work?
The Legacy System is WoW Forever's account-wide progression layer. You earn Legacy Points by completing challenges across classes, professions, exploration, dungeons, and raids. Points are shared across your entire account, but each character spends them separately in their own Legacy Trees.
At launch, each character can spend up to 16 Legacy Points, with up to 65 Legacy Points earnable in total. Extra accomplishments beyond that contribute to cosmetic rewards through the Legacy Reward Track.
Some of the confirmed perks available through Legacy Trees:
- Well Rested: Increases rested experience gains and raises the rested experience cap.
- Bountiful Harvest: Boosts materials gathered from Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning.
- Reagent Economy: Removes reagent costs from certain class abilities.
What is the Camping system?
Professions are getting over 600 new recipes alongside a brand new Camping system. Players can set up campsites in the outdoor world, and other players can contribute crafted objects to those camps in exchange for useful buffs.
Examples from confirmed content:
- Blacksmiths can build a Sharpening Wheel that increases Attack Power.
- Tailors can provide a Faction Banner that increases Spirit.
Campsites can also offer access to repairs, vendors, profession workspaces, and temporary buffs. It turns professions from a solo crafting loop into something that actually benefits the people around you.
What graphical and customization options are available?
WoW Forever keeps the original visual style but adds improved lighting, shadows, water effects, and atmosphere. Players can choose between Standard-Definition and High-Definition character models. Those using HD models can also select restored Classic animations instead of the modern ones.
Transmog is optional: you can enable or disable cosmetic appearances based on your preference. Official gamepad support is also included for controller players.
