The Shoring Up Defenses quest arrives with the Riven Tides update and sends you across the new oceanfront map to patch up raider infrastructure while thinning out the local Arc population. Four objectives, completable in any order, and none of them require a full squad or a perfect run. You can spread the work across multiple raids if needed, though with the right prep it all fits neatly into one.
What are all the objectives in Shoring Up Defenses?
The quest breaks down into four tasks, each independent of the others:
The combat objectives can be completed on any map, but Riven Tides has enough Wasps and Fireflies that there is no reason to go elsewhere. Both enemy types spawn frequently near the Stacking Yard, which makes it the most efficient location to knock out all three objectives in one run.

How to destroy Wasps and Fireflies
Wasps are the easier of the two targets. They patrol the skies throughout Riven Tides and go down quickly when you target their propellers. Ping any airborne enemy you are unsure about to confirm the type before committing ammo. The Stacking Yard point of interest is particularly dense with both enemy types, so handling your kills there saves travel time and lines up neatly with the crane objective.
Fireflies are a different story. They are flying ARCs with significantly more health than Wasps or Hornets, and they will close distance fast to set you on fire. Aim for the motors on their rear engine to disrupt their flight pattern, then finish them while they are destabilized. Grenades and explosives work well here. Save throwables for Firefly encounters to avoid a prolonged fight.
Even if you do not land the killing shot on a Wasp, the kill still counts toward your total as long as you dealt the last hit of damage before it crashes.
How to reinforce the raider structure at Stacking Yard
Head to the Stacking Yard, located at the center of the Riven Tides map. Three large cranes dominate the area. You need to climb to the top of any one of them. Two reliable routes exist: the internal stairs (slower but safer) or the external ziplines (faster, more exposure).
At the top, you will find a makeshift raider shelter, a small lean-to or canvas tent held up by a metal frame. Interact with the support structure and the game will consume your ARC Alloy to complete the repair. That is the entire objective.
If you did not bring an Alloy in from Speranza, loot the remains of any Arc enemy you take down on the way. Wasps and Fireflies both have a chance to drop one, making the combat objectives a natural source of the material you need for this step.

How to board up shuttered windows in the hotel
The Hotel Panorama Azzurro is the specific location you need. The hotel has a lot of windows, which is where most players lose time wandering around looking at the wrong ones.
You are looking for shuttered windows, meaning they are visually distinct from standard open or broken windows. Testing shows multiple working locations:
- A working window on the second floor, eastern side, facing south
- The east side accessed via ziplines and balconies
- Entering through the main entrance, taking the stairs to the first floor, and finding a red-highlighted window in a room to the left
- The second floor, rooms facing the shoreline
The interaction prompt reads "Board up Window" and completes within a few seconds. Wooden planks cover the frame once done.
What rewards do you get for completing Shoring Up Defenses?
Once all four objectives are done, extract and return to Apollo in Speranza to collect your rewards:
