How does the Frozen Trail Reward Pass work?

The Frozen Trail Reward Pass is ARC Raiders' first battle pass with a paid tier, replacing the old Raider Deck system with 60 levels of rewards split across a free track and a premium track. Here's the short answer on whether it's worth buying: if you complete the full pass, you earn back more raider tokens than you spent, so the premium tier effectively pays for itself.

How does the Frozen Trail Reward Pass work?

You progress through the pass by completing Feats, which are daily challenges unique to each player. Feats are split into three difficulty tiers that award different amounts of reward points:

  • Easy Feats: 15 reward points, +1 weekly milestone progress
  • Medium Feats: 25 reward points, +2 weekly milestone progress
  • Hard Feats: 50 reward points, +3 weekly milestone progress

Weekly milestones each grant 250 reward points. Three milestones are available per week, triggered at 4, 8, and 12 weekly milestone progress respectively. Stacking hard feats with milestone completions is the fastest route through the pass.

To access the pass, navigate to the Reward Pass tab at the top of the screen. You'll see three options: the Frozen Trail Pass, the Legacy Pass (which consolidates all previous Raider Deck content), and the premium upgrade option.

What does the premium tier cost, and is it worth it?

The premium track costs 1,150 raider tokens, which works out to roughly $9.99 if you need to buy tokens outright. Longtime players likely have enough tokens saved to cover this without spending real money.

Here's why that matters for your wallet: completing the full pass across both free and premium tracks returns 1,350 raider tokens total (200 from the free track, 1,150 from the premium track). That's 200 tokens more than the cost of entry, meaning an active player who completes the pass comes out ahead.

The premium track contains only cosmetic items. Every gameplay item, including weapons, gadgets, augments, and functional gear, sits exclusively on the free track. There is no pay-to-win element here.

The Frozen Trail Collector Set DLC is a separate purchase that bundles the premium pass access alongside the Renzo outfit, Dragon's Breath Weapon Stencil, Bob Hair Style, and 2,400 raider tokens.

What are the best free tier rewards?

Not all 60 tiers are created equal. After going through the full list, a handful of free rewards stand out as genuinely useful in raids.

Tier 4 (600 points): Bantam I hand cannon. The Bantam is a new snub-nosed revolver introduced in Frozen Trail that uses heavy ammo and has a unique hip-fire capability. Getting a copy early through the pass is a solid way to test it before hunting for higher-rarity versions. For more on sourcing this weapon, check out the guide to getting the Bantam in ARC Raiders.

Tier 6 (900 points): 2 grappling hooks. The grappling hook is one of Frozen Trail's headline additions, letting you climb hard-to-reach spots, abseil off buildings, and swing across gaps. Two copies from the free track means you can use them without immediately needing to craft more.

Tier 8 (1,200 points): Stiletto I battle rifle. The Stiletto is a new light-ammo battle rifle and the alternative to the Renegade. Fire rate can be pushed fast, but button mashing sacrifices accuracy, so it rewards controlled bursts. Full acquisition details are in the Stiletto guide.

Tier 12 (1,800 points): Grappling hook blueprint. This lets you craft more grappling hooks rather than relying on loot drops. Tier 12 is reachable within a few days of consistent feat completion.

Tier 36 (5,400 points) and Tiers 42, 48, 53: Pendola Pass area keys. Old Town, Train Station, Railyard, and Observatory keys for the new Pendola Pass map are locked behind the pass. These open up high-value rooms you otherwise cannot access without finding the keys topside.

What does the premium tier actually add?

Every premium reward is cosmetic. The premium track adds outfit color variants, exclusive toggles, hairstyles, face styles, additional backpacks, weapon stencils, and extra raider tokens at certain intervals.

The five weapon stencils exclusive to the premium pass are: Fortuna (tier 11), Sacrifice (tier 23), Bulwark (tier 35), Serac (tier 47), and Empyrean (tier 57). Stencils re-skin weapons without affecting stats, and once learned and consumed they can be applied permanently to any compatible weapon.

Premium also adds 200 raider tokens at tiers 4, 16, 28, and 40, plus 300 tokens at tier 55. Combined with the 200 tokens from the free track (tiers 40 and 50 give 50 tokens each, tier 55 gives 100), the total across both tracks reaches 1,350.

How does this compare to the old Raider Deck system?

The previous Raider Deck setup let players stockpile Cred and blow through new decks immediately on release, which drained the sense of progression. The Reward Pass fixes this by tying advancement directly to completing feats rather than spending saved currency.

The 60-level structure is designed to last the full duration of the Frozen Trail update period rather than being completable in a day. Embark has said the pass will be updated over time with new rewards as the update cycle continues.

For a full breakdown of everything else arriving in this update, the ARC Raiders Frozen Trail update guide covers the Pendola Pass map, new enemies, weapon amplification, and the Outpost system in detail.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Frozen Trail pass expire?

Embark has not confirmed a hard expiry date for the pass. It is tied to the Frozen Trail update period, so it will likely be replaced when the next major update arrives. Complete it before then to be safe.

Can you buy raider tokens in-game without spending real money?

Yes. Raider tokens have always been earnable in-game, so veteran players may already have enough to purchase the premium tier without spending real money.

What happens to my Raider Deck progress?

The Legacy Pass consolidates all existing Raider Deck rewards into a single free pass. Any items you already unlocked carry over without needing to replay old content.

Are there Twitch Drops connected to Frozen Trail?

Yes. Separate from the pass, you can earn free backpack cosmetics by watching streams during the Frozen Trail period. The Frozen Trail Twitch Drops guide has the exact steps and time requirements.
