Pendola Pass is the biggest map ARC Raiders has seen since launch, and it arrives with the Frozen Trail update on October 8, 2026. Built on a snow-covered mountain range beyond the topside boundary, it dwarfs the previous Riven Tides map in both scale and zone count. Nine distinct areas, two new ARC enemy types, a locked dungeon, and a weather system that actively punishes players who stand outside too long. Getting dropped in blind is a fast way to lose your kit.
What makes Pendola Pass different from other maps?
The most immediate difference is the Flash Freeze condition. This is an ice storm that deals constant damage to anyone caught outside without cover, functioning similarly to the Frostbite condition from the Cold Snap event. Plan your routes between buildings carefully, because sprinting across open ground during a Flash Freeze will drain your health fast.
Doors on Pendola Pass can also freeze shut. You will need a Flame Thrower to thaw them before entry, which adds a layer of resource planning that earlier maps never demanded.
The other major quirk: loot value is randomized per raid. There are no permanently designated high-loot zones on this map. Every run, the priority areas shift. What this means in practice is that knowing all nine locations becomes more valuable than memorizing one or two “best spots.”
Beyond Flash Freeze, two special map conditions can activate during a raid:
Frigate: A flying ship appears over the map. Players must sabotage and board it to claim its loot.
Redirection: Damaged emperor beacons appear across the map. Loot them, then deploy them anywhere you choose to redirect loot flow.
Both conditions add high-risk, high-reward objectives on top of standard looting. The Frigate in particular demands preparation. Check the full Frozen Trail update breakdown for details on what the Frigate contains and how to approach it.

Fallen Emperor
Fallen Emperor is the standout location on the entire map. You cannot walk in without an Emperor Gateway Conduit key, which requires crafting from three separate couplers found across Pendola Pass. The payoff is access to the only ARC-category zone on the map, with loot that is expected to include new weapon blueprints introduced in Frozen Trail. For a step-by-step crafting walkthrough, the Emperor Gateway Conduit blueprint guide covers every coupler location.

Railyard
Railyard is the most reliable stop for raw loot volume. The entire complex is dense with containers and wall lockers, and its Industrial and Mechanical tags mean consistent material drops for crafting. A Glacial Transceiver and Great Mullein spawn nearby, making it worth the detour even if you are not farming the main structures.
Commissary Supermarket
If your loadout relies on medical items or you are running low on healing supplies mid-raid, Commissary Supermarket is the most efficient stop. The interconnected buildings give you multiple entry and exit points, which matters when other players are also farming the area.
Cielo Sereno Observatory
The Observatory is the go-to for Augment Crates, which makes it worth visiting any time you need to upgrade or experiment with builds. It has a confirmed key room (the Observatory Room) and is loaded with breachable containers.
tip
Old Town's dense housing layout is great for Research items, but those same tight corridors make it easy for other Raiders to ambush you. Clear rooms methodically rather than rushing through.
What new enemies will you face on Pendola Pass?
Two new ARC types debut on this map: Bully and Skulkers. Both are built for the Pendola Pass environment and will be more common here than anywhere else in the game currently. Prepare your loadout accordingly before dropping in, especially if you are running lighter builds.

How does Pendola Pass compare to Riven Tides?
Pendola Pass is larger, has more named locations (9 versus fewer on Riven Tides), and introduces environmental hazards that directly affect movement and planning. The randomized loot system also shifts the meta away from memorizing fixed spawn routes toward flexible, read-and-react looting. Players who spent months optimizing Riven Tides routes will need to rebuild their mental map from scratch.
Getting started on Pendola Pass
For new and returning players, the learning curve on Pendola Pass is steeper than previous maps simply because of Flash Freeze and frozen doors. Stock Flame Throwers before every raid, plan indoor routes between objectives, and treat the Fallen Emperor dungeon as a late-raid objective once you have the key crafted.
