All Outfits and Locations - Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Guide - IGN

The Shade and Shadow Robes are one of the best-looking legendary outfits in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, and getting them is a multi-step process that touches naval combat, base building, and a buried treasure on a remote island. There's no shortcut here, but every step is manageable once you know what you're doing. Here's the full breakdown.

What do you need to unlock the Shade and Shadow Robes?

Before anything else, you need access to the Treasure Dealer vendor in Great Inagua. This NPC is the gateway to the Preserved Map, which eventually points you to the outfit. Great Inagua itself unlocks at the start of Sequence 4 during the main quest "The Old Cove," so you need to be at least that far into the story.

The Treasure Dealer doesn't appear automatically. You must first restore both the Tavern and the General Store at your base. Once those are up, head west along the docks and you'll find the Treasure Dealer NPC waiting. Restoring their building costs 5,000 Reales, so make sure your funds are in order before you commit.

important
You must restore the Tavern and General Store before the Treasure Dealer NPC appears on your map. Skipping this step means the vendor simply won't be there.

How to restore the Preserved Map

Once the Treasure Dealer is active, interact with them and look under the Restore section. You'll see the Preserved Map listed there, requiring four separate pieces to complete. Beyond the pieces themselves, fully restoring the map also costs 500 Reales and 150 Tobacco.

How to find Preserved Map pieces

Preserved Map pieces drop from Warehouses scattered across different islands. You can track Warehouse locations using the Legend feature on your map.

Here's the catch: if you haven't raided a particular Warehouse before, the first raid won't produce a map piece. The piece only enters the loot pool on your second raid, after the 2-hour cooldown resets. Plan your route around this.

The fastest starting point is the Cat Island Warehouse, because most players will have already raided it during the Sugarcane and Yields quest. That prior raid counts, so your next visit there will drop a Preserved Map piece immediately.

tip
Use your Spyglass to scan ships before engaging them. Confirming a ship carries tobacco before starting a naval fight saves a lot of wasted time.

How to farm tobacco for the Preserved Map

Tobacco is a Trade Good, meaning you won't find it in chests or from standard enemies. You need to earn it through naval activity. The three best regions to target are:

Send Kenway's Fleet on missions in these regions when you're not actively sailing, and prioritize boarding ships in the same areas. Always scan with the Spyglass first to confirm tobacco is on board before committing to a fight.

warning
Don't spend your tobacco on other crafting recipes before you hit the 150 required for the Preserved Map. It's easy to burn through Trade Goods without realizing how much the restoration costs.

Where is Sacrifice Island and how do you solve the treasure map?

Once the Preserved Map is fully restored, it transforms into the Sacrifice Island treasure map, pointing to coordinates 13, 554. Sacrifice Island sits in the Conttoyor region at the western edge of the map.

Sail there and head to the northwestern tip of the island. You're looking for a large boulder arch. The dig spot is directly underneath that archway. Interact with it and you'll pull up the legendary Shade and Shadow Robes outfit.

As a bonus, the same dig spot also rewards the Wooden Eyeball legendary trinket. This item lets Edward kill brutes instantly while quick shooting, which is a genuinely useful perk for aggressive combat builds.

The Preserved Map questline is one of the more involved optional activities in the game, but the outfit is worth the effort, and the Wooden Eyeball trinket adds real combat utility on top of the cosmetic reward.
