AC Black Flag Resynced Mission List (Main Story & Side Quests)

The Opia Apito Templar Hunt in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is one of four Templar Hunt chains you must finish to collect all the Templar Keys and open the locked gate at the Great Inagua manor. The Templar Armor sitting behind that gate makes every minute of this questline worth it. Opia's four missions take you from tracking a White Jaguar through jungle trails to a full naval chase and a night raid on Pinos Isle, so buckle in.

Where do you find Opia Apito to start the questline?

Opia Apito is located in the Castillo de Jagua region on Cayman Sound island. Head there and speak to her to kick off the first quest. The island sits in waters patrolled by hostile ships, so either sink them on approach or jump off the Jackdaw roughly 200 to 300 meters out and swim the rest of the way to avoid a drawn-out naval skirmish before you even set foot on shore.

Quest 1: The Taino Assassin

After greeting Opia (she is not thrilled to see Edward), follow her into the nearby camp to search for clues. Activate Eagle Vision to spot the relevant objects quickly. Interact with the tree ahead of you and the blood puddle on the ground, then speak to Opia again.

The trail continues until you reach some dead guards. The path forks here. Take the right-hand branch to follow the White Jaguar tracks. The animal is tougher and faster than the soldiers you have fought up to this point, but it is far from unmanageable.

tip
A sleep dart followed by an assassinate press is the fastest way to put the White Jaguar down in a single move. If you prefer a straight fight, heavy attacks and careful dodging work fine too.

Killing the jaguar triggers a cutscene with Opia and rewards you with a Digested Map Piece. Once that wraps up, Opia moves to the docks on the far east side of the Castillo de Jagua near Grand Cayman. Meet her there to continue.

Quest 2: Templar Ships

Follow Opia after meeting her on the Grand Cayman docks and she will ask you to dig into the Templar presence on the island. Head to the quest marker and sit on the bench nearby to blend in and eavesdrop on two locals talking about the King of Fishermen.

After the conversation, follow your marker west toward the area's Viewpoint. Use Eagle Vision once you enter the search zone to spot the King of Fishermen highlighted in green. Tail him carefully. You will learn he is carrying a Bill of Sale, and the game will prompt you to pickpocket it.

Stay behind him and lift the bill while his back is turned. If he catches you mid-lift, he turns hostile and you will need to fight him. Either way, once the Bill of Sale is yours, the quest step closes. Check your map and meet Opia east of Grand Cayman near the Viewpoint to hand over what you found.

Quest 3: Right-Hand Man

Opia fills you in on Lucia Marquez's right-hand man, Vargas, and leads you to his house. Hide in the hay bale across from his front door. When Opia knocks, Vargas bolts. Chase him down.

He boards a ship before you can catch him on foot, so sprint back to the Jackdaw and give chase at sea. Your goal is to weaken his vessel enough to board it without sinking it. Fire your cannons carefully: too much damage and the ship goes under, failing the objective.

warning
Do not clear out Vargas' entire crew before incapacitating him. Focus directly on Vargas the moment you board. Taking out all his men first can trigger a quest marker bug that sends you back out to sea with no valid target. If that happens, reload your last save immediately rather than swimming around looking for a fix.

Once Vargas is incapacitated, the mission ends. Your next destination is Pinos Isle in the Castillo de Jagua region, north of Grand Cayman. The docks there are guarded by enemy ships just like Cayman Sound, so the same approach applies: sink them or swim in from a distance.

If the Jackdaw takes a beating during the Vargas chase, check out the guide on how to repair your ship in AC Black Flag Resynced before heading to Pinos Isle.

Quest 4: The Trail of Lucia Marquez

Meet Opia on the beach at Pinos Isle and sit with her to wait until nightfall. The final mission plays out under cover of darkness, which helps with the stealth sections ahead.

Follow Opia through the Templar camp. You can play this aggressively if you want, but the bushes along the route provide solid cover and Opia will co-assassinate guards with you as you move. Tag-teaming the patrols this way is both faster and cleaner than going loud.

Once you reach the ziggurat ruins, you need to eliminate all 7 of Lucia Marquez's men. Opia fights alongside you here, so focus on controlling the crowd and letting her handle flankers. After the initial group falls, a second wave arrives. Hold your ground and protect Opia until they are all down.

tip
Sleep darts are excellent for the ziggurat clearing section if you want to keep noise down. Throw one at a clustered group, then move in for quick assassinations before the rest react.

With the guards gone, use Eagle Vision to locate Lucia. She is hiding east of the ruins. Approach and she runs. Chase her briefly and fight through the two guards she brings with her. Once she is downed, interact with her body to confirm the kill.

A cutscene plays and you receive the fifth and final Templar Key. Speak to Opia one last time to officially close out her questline and all four Templar Hunts.

What happens after you finish all four Templar Hunts?

With all five Templar Keys in hand (the Opia chain alone yields the fifth), return to the Great Inagua manor in the Gibara region. Insert all the keys into the locked gate to complete the Damn Fine Gear side quest and claim the Templar Armor.

The armor is the main payoff for grinding through all four Templar Hunt chains, and it is genuinely worth the effort given how early you can start working toward it after finishing This Old Cove.
