Silver is one of the most mechanically distinct heroes in Deadlock right now. She runs two completely separate ability sets depending on whether she's in human or werewolf form, and her entire gameplan revolves around building Lycan Curse stacks in fights to trigger a transformation that can swing a teamfight instantly. On the Oct 5, 2026 patch, she sits at a 49.2% win rate across 1,430 Phantom+ matches, which puts her squarely in C tier. That number is beatable with the right build.

Silver human form overview
Silver is the only hero in the game with two full sets of abilities. Her human kit centers on Slam Fire, Boot Kick, Entangling Bola, and Lycan Curse. When the transformation triggers, those swap out for Go For The Throat, Mauling Leap, Tail Whack, and a werewolf version of Lycan Curse with stacking fire rate. Her weapon also changes from the seven-pellet shotgun Hair of the Dog (42 DPS, 17m-42m falloff range) to Loose Muzzle, a claw swipe with no ammo count, no reload, and 50 DPS at close range.
The passive side of Lycan Curse builds bloodlust at 0.255% per damage point dealt (post-mitigation). At base, you need around 392 hero damage to charge it at level 0, scaling up to 650 at level 7 when the ability unlocks and 1,682 at max level. Drop below 30% health and that requirement falls by 40%, so Silver genuinely becomes more dangerous the lower she gets. Once bloodlust hits max, you have 3 seconds before she auto-transforms, or you can trigger it instantly even while silenced.
The early game priority is sustain and control. Pick up Restorative Shot, Extra Regen, Close Quarters, and Melee Lifesteal at Tier I. These keep Silver healthy through the laning phase while she builds toward her core. Stalker at Tier II is a strong early pickup with a 49.4% win rate at that stage. Follow it with Slowing Bullets and Slowing Hex for movement control, then Healing Booster to amplify the sustain you're already building.
This is where Silver's build gets specific. Duration Extender imbued on Lycan Curse is the first priority, and its 54.6% win rate in the mid-game bracket backs that up. Spirit Resilience and Superior Duration come next to extend transformation uptime. Lifestrike and Hunter's Aura are both high-priority Tier III pickups, with Hunter's Aura sitting at a 51.6% win rate. Weighted Shots pairs directly with Frenzy later, so grab it here.
Berserker has a 52.6% win rate at Tier III and synergizes well with Silver's close-range pressure. Warp Stone at 53.2% win rate is the highest-performing Tier III item in the mid-game bracket and is worth slotting if you need extra movement.

Silver core mid-game items
Frenzy is Silver's single best Tier IV item, sitting at a 56.6% win rate and 26.2% pick rate. The note from high-level play is accurate: Frenzy paired with Weighted Shots effectively removes the need for Unstoppable in most games by giving Silver enough stats to push through fights. After Frenzy, the order is Healing Tempo (54.8% WR) and Scourge (58.0% WR, activate on yourself every fight). Diviner's Kevlar at 54.8% win rate is also worth building in most games.
Blood Tribute is currently being tested alongside Frenzy and Healing Tempo. The combination reportedly feels extremely strong, though it's not yet a confirmed core item.
For CC-heavy enemy teams, Unstoppable (51.8% WR) should move up to your first or second Tier IV slot. Against Dynamo specifically, prioritize it early.
| Phase | Key Items | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Restorative Shot, Melee Lifesteal, Close Quarters, Stalker | Sustain + control |
| Mid | Duration Extender (imbue Lycan Curse), Lifestrike, Hunter's Aura, Weighted Shots | Transformation uptime |
| Core Tier III | Berserker, Spirit Resilience, Superior Duration | Stats + durability |
| Late | Frenzy, Healing Tempo, Scourge, Diviner's Kevlar | Damage + sustain |
| Situational | Unstoppable (vs CC/Dynamo), Metal Skin (vs Haze ult), Warp Stone (movement) | Flex slots |
The highest win-rate ability order (51.9% across 79 Phantom+ matches) is: Lycan Curse first, Entangling Bola second, Boot Kick third, Slam Fire last.
Here's the short answer on why: Lycan Curse unlocks at 7 points and is your most impactful ability by a wide margin. Getting points into it early accelerates your transformation potential. Entangling Bola is your primary CC tool in human form, dealing 40 base spirit damage with a 1.5-second slow and stamina denial. The Tier 3 upgrade at 5 points adds a 0.75-second debuff extension and ricochets to 2 additional targets within 15m.
Boot Kick at 21-second cooldown dashes you forward, deals melee damage, and marks the target so your next shot deals bonus spirit damage. The Tier 1 upgrade drops the cooldown by 6 seconds, making it far more usable in extended fights. Tier 3 adds 80 bonus damage and applies a 35% damage reduction debuff to kicked targets for 5 seconds.
Slam Fire is last priority. It instantly reloads your gun, grants +300% fire rate for 3 shots, and deals 2.5% of the target's current health as bonus damage per shot. The Tier 3 upgrade bumps that to +7% current health damage if all shots land on the same target. It's strong for bursting down high-health targets but less consistent than your other abilities in teamfights.
When Silver transforms, she gains +125 bonus health (bringing her from 830 to roughly 1,080 including the bonus), +1.5 m/s move speed, and a fire rate bonus that stacks up to 15 times from hitting enemies with Loose Muzzle. Each stack adds +4% fire rate, maxing at +60% at 15 stacks. Each hit refreshes all existing stacks for 5 seconds.
In werewolf form, Silver has 20% crit reduction (reduced headshot damage), no move speed penalty while shooting, and regenerates 30% of missing health on transformation. Killing enemies in wolf form heals for 1 HP per Boon level, which scales to 35 HP per kill at 35 Boons.
The Tier 3 upgrade for Lycan Curse refreshes all abilities and resets the transformation duration on hero kill. This is what makes late-game Silver genuinely threatening: chain kills extend the wolf form indefinitely.
After transformation ends, the cooldown timer doesn't start until after you've reverted. Silver's gun also auto-reloads on reversion.
Silver currently has 12 favorable matchups and 25 unfavorable ones across 12,761 matches (version 6757). Her best matchup is against Sinclair at 54.9% win rate. She also performs well against Viscous (53.1%), Mirage (53.1%), and Paradox (52.3%).
Her hardest matchup is Graves at 40.9% win rate. Paige (41.5%), Victor (42.0%), and Seven (42.6%) are also significant problems. The pattern with these counters is consistent: heroes with strong ranged burst or long-range lockdown punish Silver's need to close distance before she can deal damage.
For team synergy, Ivy, Celeste, and Dynamo all pair well with Silver. Ivy and Celeste can extend Silver's engage windows, while Dynamo's CC setup creates the kind of grouped fights where Entangling Bola's ricochet and wolf-form AoE shine.

Silver in Lycan Curse form
For a broader look at Deadlock's mid-game rotations and objectives, understanding when to push versus when to farm is what separates Silver players who snowball from those who stall out. Silver's transformation cooldown doesn't begin until after reversion, so fights that go long are more punishing than they appear on paper.
If you're new to the game and want to understand Silver's role in a wider context, the essential guide for new Deadlock players covers the fundamentals that make Silver's aggressive playstyle viable.
Does Lycan Curse count as a silence? No. Silver can activate the instant transform even while silenced, despite the ability icon not being highlighted.
Does Slam Fire's fire rate bonus carry into wolf form? No. The fire rate bonus from Slam Fire does not transfer when you transform.
Can Entangling Bola interrupt Vindicta's Flight? Yes. Bola follows the same interaction rules as Phantom Strike and can interrupt Vindicta's Flight.
Does Duration Extender affect the Tier 3 Lycan Curse kill refresh? No. The T3 upgrade adds a fixed 15-second duration on hero kill and is not affected by Ability Duration upgrades.
Who should I play if Silver isn't working for me? Heroes with similar aggressive close-range playstyles worth exploring include Rat King and Baba.
