The Godly Glamor Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley has a habit of writing its duties in riddles rather than plain instructions, and "bring gems or minerals to a grumpy satyr" is one of the better examples of that. Two things to figure out: who the satyr is, and what exactly qualifies as a mineral. Once you know both answers, this duty takes maybe five minutes to finish.
Who is the grumpy satyr in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Phil from the Hercules storyline is your grumpy satyr. In Greek mythology, satyrs are half-human, half-goat nature spirits, and Phil fits that description perfectly alongside his famously grumpy personality. If you weren't already familiar with the mythology, the hint is pretty easy to miss.
The catch is that Phil isn't available from the start. You need to work through the full Hercules Realm storyline and unlock both Hercules and Phil before he can move into your valley. Phil is the second character you recruit from that realm, so expect a meaningful time investment in the Hercules questline before this duty becomes completable.

What counts as gems or minerals?
Despite the wording suggesting two separate item categories, only gems are officially classified as minerals in the game. That means you specifically need to give Phil 5 gems to complete this duty. Rocks, ores, and other mining byproducts don't count.
The good news is that gem eligibility is broad. Any item the game classifies as a gem works, regardless of where it came from:
- Main valley gems: Garnet, Aquamarine, and other standard gems found throughout the base biomes
- DLC world gems: Honeycomb Stone from Wishblossom Ranch, Opal from Storybook Vale, and gems from other expansion areas
How to get gems fast
The most reliable method is mining rock nodes with your Royal Pickaxe. Gem nodes appear across all biomes, so you don't need to travel to a specific area. To speed things up, bring a villager with the mining role as your companion, plus two mining Companions. They occasionally produce bonus items during mining sessions, which can shorten the grind considerably.
If you'd rather skip the mining entirely, there's a shortcut. Once your friendship with Aladdin is maxed out, he sells gems directly from his stall. It's a faster option if you have the Star Coins to spend and want to wrap this duty up quickly.
How to give Phil gems
Walk up to Phil, open the gift interaction, and hand over your gems one at a time or in a batch of 5. The duty tracks each gem gifted, so you don't need to do it all in one conversation if your inventory is scattered.
What to do after completing this duty
50 Tokens gets you started, but most Godly Glamor event rewards cost significantly more. The event has plenty of other duties worth stacking alongside this one.
