EA Sports FC 27 has replaced the old chemistry-locked SBC format for a large portion of its challenges with something called Streamlined SBCs. The idea is simple: submit cards, hit a point target, earn a reward. No positional requirements, no chemistry headaches, no need to field a starting eleven that makes tactical sense. You can throw five goalkeepers into a single squad if that burns your duplicate pile fastest. It sounds like a dream for collectors. The reality, as of launch, is a little more complicated.
What are Streamlined SBCs and how do they differ from regular SBCs?
A standard SBC in FC 27 still asks you to meet specific objectives: player ratings, nationalities, leagues, chemistry links. Streamlined SBCs strip most of that away. Each one has a single numeric point target displayed at the bottom of the challenge screen, and your job is to submit enough cards to reach it.
Every card in your club carries a point value based on its overall rating. You can submit any eligible cards from your library regardless of position or rarity, and you can do it gradually. Progress saves automatically, so you do not need to hand in a full squad in one sitting. Drop in cards as you open packs, let the total accumulate, and collect your reward when the target is hit.
The feature went live on September 25, 2026, across PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, with the mobile Companion App following during Season 1. EA paired the launch with an Intro to Streamlined SBCs objective group that walks new players through the mechanics.
The full point scale: what is every card worth?
This is the table you actually need. Every card's contribution to a Streamlined SBC is determined by its overall rating. The jump between tiers is not linear, and the gap between an 84-rated card (830 points) and an 85-rated card (2,100 points) is significant enough to shape your whole fodder strategy.
| Overall Rating | Points | Overall Rating | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| 45–64 (Bronze) | 20 | 86 | 4,100 |
| 65–74 (Silver) | 35 | 87 | 5,500 |
| 75 | 90 | 88 | 8,300 |
| 76 | 100 | 89 | 11,000 |
| 77 | 120 | 90 | 14,000 |
| 78 | 140 | 91 | 19,000 |
| 79 | 160 | 92 | 20,000 |
| 80 | 180 | 93 | 25,000 |
| 81 | 280 | 94 | 30,000 |
| 82 | 340 | 95 | 40,000 |
| 83 | 410 | 96 | 55,000 |
| 84 | 830 | 97 | 85,000 |
| 85 | 2,100 | 98 | 90,000 |
Special versions of cards, including Road to the Knockouts and Team of the Week items, carry a higher multiplier than their base counterparts at the same overall. Holographic status stacks on top of that bonus, so promo Holographics are among the most efficient submissions you can make. This also ties directly into the FUT Gallery, since submitting special items contributes to Gallery progress at the same time.

FC 27 Guide: How to Complete Streamlined SBCs
How to complete a Streamlined SBC
The process is more straightforward than a traditional SBC, but there are a few things worth knowing before you start submitting:
- Open the Squad Building Challenges menu and select any Streamlined SBC from the list.
- All eligible cards from your club are displayed automatically on screen.
- Select the cards you want to submit. You can mix bronze, silver, gold, and special items freely.
- You are capped at 30 player submissions per Streamlined SBC, so plan your card selection to maximise point efficiency within that limit.
- Hit Start to review your selection, then confirm the submission.
- Progress saves immediately. Return later to add more cards if you have not hit the target yet.
The first major reward available at launch was an 83-rated Ones to Watch (OTW) version of Ayyoub Bouaddi, requiring a target score of 20,000 points. At launch, seven Streamlined SBCs were available: Ayyoub Bouaddi, Ones to Watch Duo Pick 1, 83+ Upgrade, Intro to Streamlined SBCs, Bronze and Silver Re-roll (repeatable), Gold Re-Roll (repeatable), and Intro to Player SBCs.

FC 27 Guide: How to Complete Streamlined SBCs
Are Streamlined SBCs actually worth it?
Honestly, the early returns are mixed. The 20,000-point target for the Bouaddi OTW or the Ones to Watch player pick requires roughly 10 cards rated 85 or above (2,100 points each) to complete efficiently. You could pad that out with cheaper cards, but with only 30 submission slots available, stacking bronze and silver fillers does not get you very far.
After testing different card combinations against the launch targets, the cost in fodder value sits roughly in line with what you would spend on a traditional one-shot SBC at a comparable reward tier. The key difference is the absence of squad-building restrictions, which genuinely saves time and makes duplicate management less painful. The promise of a reduced grind has not fully materialised yet, but EA has indicated it will monitor community feedback and fine-tune the point scale across the season.
For players sitting on large quantities of untradeable duplicates, particularly mid-gold cards in the 81 to 84 range, Streamlined SBCs are still the best available outlet. The 81-rated threshold (280 points) and the sharp jump at 84 (830 points) make that band of cards disproportionately useful as fodder.

The Bronze Pack Method and low-tier fodder
One side effect of removing strict squad requirements is that demand for low-rated base cards on the Transfer Market has a new floor. The classic Bronze Pack Method (buying cheap bronze packs from the store and flipping the contents for a margin) gets a modest boost here. Bronze and silver cards now have a guaranteed use case in Streamlined SBCs, which creates steady demand even if individual card values are small.
That said, running pure bronze submissions is inefficient for high-target challenges. The real play is using bronze and silver cards to top off a submission after you have already committed your mid-gold fodder. Think of them as rounding up to the nearest milestone rather than as a primary strategy.

What about traditional SBCs?
EA has kept classic squad-building formats for marquee challenges, particularly those tied to Elite items. So if you enjoy the positional puzzle aspect of the old SBC system, it has not been removed entirely. Streamlined SBCs coexist alongside traditional challenges rather than replacing them outright.
Future Streamlined SBCs may introduce narrower eligibility requirements, such as cards from specific leagues or nationalities, though none of those restrictions were active at launch. EA has confirmed it will adjust the point scale based on how the community responds to the current values.
