FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE has eight party members, and Aileen can forge a unique weapon for each one. The catch: she needs one piece of Adamantite per weapon, and those eight pieces are scattered across Colosseum battles, Oblivion Palace milestones, a roaming Merchant Ship, a mountain path chest, and a hidden sea treasure that requires an airship upgrade. This guide covers every location, the exact steps to unlock crafting, and a full breakdown of what each weapon actually does.
How do you unlock Aileen's weapon crafting?
Two things have to happen before Aileen starts forging weapons aboard the Enterprise airship. Neither is optional.
Step 1: Complete the Forger of Wills subquest
This subquest becomes available at the start of Chapter 5 in Dilmagia. Find the Gossiping Girl near the city entrance to start it. The quest takes you to the shipyard in Dilmagia, where you meet Aileen, a pink-haired Weapons Engineer. After gathering information from three NPCs (near the Dalmagia weapons shop, by the Chocobo ranch in Kol, and at the Rebel Hideout in Zoldaad), return to Aileen and answer her three questions correctly:
- It's a tool of harm.
- A way to rebel against troubling times.
- Craft weapons that suit each of us well.
Aileen joins as a Vision reward and takes up residence on the Enterprise's front deck. She won't craft anything yet, though. Equip her Vision to any party member and raise her Mastery Rank to 9 to convince her you're worth the effort.
Step 2: Upgrade the airship radar with the Magi-tenna
This step unlocks in Chapter 6 when the story takes you to Gaberada, the first town in Gronoa. Head to the northern section of town, look for the staircase on the western side, and go underneath it. The Hiding Man standing there hands over the Magi-tenna at no cost. Take it back to the airship, fly to trigger Lid's dialogue, then speak with Lid to install the upgrade.
Once the radar is active, talk to Aileen on deck. She confirms she'll craft weapons in exchange for Adamantite. The radar itself works just like the scanner used to find Mysidia: fly over an area, activate it, and follow Lid's messages to zero in on hidden items.
Where are all 8 Adamantite locations?
Here's the full list at a glance, then detailed steps for each one below.
| # | Location | Method | Earliest Chapter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Grandshelt Colosseum | Clear Fledgling Battle 2 (rec. Level 27) | Ch. 4 |
| 2 | North of Olderion (sea) | Airship Treasure Radar | Ch. 6 |
| 3 | Merchant Ship (roaming) | Purchase for 35,000 Gil | Ch. 6 |
| 4 | Rugged Mountain Path, Gronoa | Brown chest near entrance | Ch. 6 |
| 5 | Oblivion Palace, 3-Star Chamber | Collect 80 Tablet Shards | Ch. 6 |
| 6 | Grandshelt Colosseum | Clear Brawler Battle 2 (rec. Level 41) | Ch. 6+ |

| 8 | Oblivion Palace, 4-Star Chamber | Collect 89 Tablet Shards | Ch. 7 |

Colosseum Adamantite reward
Adamantite 1: Grandshelt Colosseum, Fledgling Battle 2
The Colosseum opens on the western side of the Grandshelt capital during Chapter 4, when a notice board in Zoldaad announces its reopening. Enter the Fledgling League, clear Battle 1 to unlock Battle 2, then defeat the Chimera in Battle 2. The recommended level is 27, and this is a first-clear reward, so you only need to win it once.
Adamantite 2: Sea north of Olderion (Airship Radar)
With the upgraded Treasure Radar installed, fly toward the northern coast of Olderion and position the airship over the curved bay between the two sections of the continent, south of the Aquapolis. Activate the radar and follow Lid's signals until the item appears. This is the only Adamantite that requires the radar upgrade to locate.
Adamantite 3: Merchant Ship (35,000 Gil)
A traveling Merchant Ship roams the world map and carries one Adamantite for 35,000 Gil. The ship moves after each purchase, so if you don't see it at one spot, check the others. Confirmed locations include:
- Southeast of Gronoa
- West of Olderion
- South of the Sanctum of Tidus
- Southwest of Zoldaad, between Zoldaad and Mysidia
- East of Kolobos Ruins in Grandshelt
- Near the Kingdom of Pharm on the western side of the world map
Approach with the airship and interact to access its inventory.
Adamantite 4: Rugged Mountain Path, Gronoa
The main story in Chapter 6 routes you through the Rugged Mountain Path toward the Gronoa Shrine. A brown treasure chest sits near the entrance of the area, close to the beginning of the path rather than deep inside. Check it on your first pass through.
Adamantite 5: Oblivion Palace, 3-Star Chamber (80 Tablet Shards)
Collect at least 80 Tablet Shards from across the world, then visit the Enigmatic Princess at Oblivion Palace. She unlocks the fifth chest in the 3-Star Chamber, which contains an Adamantite. Reaching 80 shards is realistic around the time you're exploring the Rugged Mountain Path in Chapter 6, provided you've been collecting along the way.

Oblivion Palace shard reward
Adamantite 6: Grandshelt Colosseum, Brawler Battle 2
The Brawler League unlocks after you clear every Fledgling League battle. Return to the Colosseum and select Brawler Battle 2. The recommended level is 41, so come back with a stronger party if the Fledgling battles were a stretch. Defeat the two elite enemies for the first-clear Adamantite reward.
Adamantite 7: Grandshelt Colosseum, Brawler Battle 3
Immediately after Brawler Battle 2, take on Brawler Battle 3 (recommended Level 43). The encounter features an Ochu accompanied by smaller Microchu enemies. The mistake most players make here is focusing on the Ochu first. Eliminating the Microchu causes the Ochu to take substantial bonus damage, making the fight significantly shorter. First-clear reward is another Adamantite.
Adamantite 8: Oblivion Palace, 4-Star Chamber (89 Tablet Shards)
The final piece requires 89 Tablet Shards total. Return to the Enigmatic Princess at Oblivion Palace, and she'll open the first chest in the 4-Star Chamber. There are 99 Tablet Shards in the game, so you don't need all of them, just 89.
What does each crafted weapon do?
Every weapon is character-specific. One Adamantite buys one weapon, and Aileen doesn't let you preview the stats before crafting. Here's the full breakdown:
| Character | Weapon | Phys. Atk | Mag. Atk | Sanctity | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rain | Save the Vermillion | 179 | 93 | — | Reduces physical and magic damage taken by 20% |
| Lasswell | Shisui | 197 | 148 | — | Grants Hone Senses and Placidity for 5 turns at battle start |
| Fina | Elysium | 114 | 162 | 141 | Increases healing magic potency by 20% |
| Lid | Mechabo Hammer SUPER | 142 | 133 | — | Grants Overclock; wielder acts first at battle start |
| Nichol | Codex Providentiae | 106 | 181 | 169 | Grants Tactic: Fluid Warfare for 3 turns; acts first at battle start |
| Jake | Caelum Renatum | 222 | 88 | — | Raises Luck level by 8 at battle start; restores 2% max MP on standard attack hits |
| Archwitch Fina | Abyss | 130 | 178 | — | Extends debuff and status ailment duration inflicted by wielder by 2 turns |
| Sakura | Roselia | 154 | 204 | — | Grants Concentrate for 3 turns and Sage's Eye for 4 turns at battle start |

Aileen's weapon crafting menu
A few weapons stand out as particularly strong for their role. Sakura's Roselia is arguably the most impactful for offense-focused players: starting every fight with both Concentrate and Sage's Eye means her damage output is ramped up from turn one. Fina's Elysium is a straight 20% healing boost with solid Sanctity to back it up, which makes a real difference in longer boss fights. Lasswell's Shisui has the highest physical attack of any crafted weapon at 197 and opens battles with two defensive buffs already active.

How do you unlock the Weaponsmith trophy?
Crafting your first weapon unlocks The Weapon That Suits The User achievement. Crafting all eight unlocks The Weaponsmith. Since every Adamantite is available post-game, you can finish the main story and return to clean up any missing pieces without locking yourself out.
The checklist:
- Complete Forger of Wills and raise Aileen's Mastery Rank to 9
- Get the Magi-tenna from Gaberada and upgrade the airship radar
- Clear Fledgling Battle 2 and both Brawler League battles at the Colosseum
- Collect 80 and then 89 Tablet Shards for the two Oblivion Palace pieces
- Purchase from the Merchant Ship for 35,000 Gil
- Grab the chest in Rugged Mountain Path
- Use the upgraded radar north of Olderion
- Craft all eight weapons with Aileen on the Enterprise deck

FAQ
Can you miss any Adamantite permanently? No. All eight are available during post-game free exploration. None are tied to story events that lock you out after completion.
What happens if you craft the wrong weapon? The weapon is permanent and character-specific. You can't undo a craft or reassign it to a different character, so check the table above before confirming.
Do you need all 99 Tablet Shards for both Oblivion Palace Adamantites? No. You only need 89 for the second one. The 99-shard milestone unlocks a different reward.
Can the Merchant Ship Adamantite be missed if you buy something else from it first? The ship disappears after each purchase and reappears at a new location. The Adamantite is the only one available, so as long as you haven't already bought it, it will still be there on the ship's next appearance.
