How to get every Sprite in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3

The Ghost Sprite is one of the more sought-after companions in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and for good reason. Its invisibility cloak triggers automatically every time you reload, turning a basic mechanical action into a tactical window. For players who like to reposition mid-fight or bait enemies into bad positions, this Epic-rarity Sprite is genuinely useful.

Where to find the Ghost Sprite in Fortnite

The Ghost Sprite has no fixed spawn point on the map. Every match, it enters the loot pool through several different sources:

  • Regular Chests scattered across the island
  • Rare Chests, which carry a higher chance of Epic-rarity items
  • Sprite Chests, the most reliable source for Sprites of any rarity
  • Fishing spots, including standard fishing holes
  • Floor loot that spawns during the nighttime phase

Because it sits at Epic rarity, the drop rate is noticeably lower than Common or Rare Sprites. You may open ten chests and walk away empty-handed, or find it in your second chest of the match. That variance is just how the loot system works here.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Guide: How to Find a Ghost Sprite

Why nighttime matters for hunting the Ghost Sprite

During the nighttime phase of a match, the Ghost Sprite can appear as a free-roaming spawn outside of any container. This is the one window where you can find it without needing to open a chest at all. If you are specifically farming for this Sprite, adjust your rotation to cover as much ground as possible after night falls rather than settling into a single location.

Sprite Chests remain the highest-priority target regardless of time of day. Whenever you spot one, open it before anything else.

tip
Land at locations with multiple chests clustered together and prioritize Sprite Chests and Rare Chests on your loot path. The more containers you open per match, the faster your odds improve over a session.

How to extract the Ghost Sprite and add it to your collection

Finding the Ghost Sprite in a match is only half the job. To permanently unlock it, you need to extract it before the match ends. Head to an Extraction Point on the map or use a Portable Extractor if you have one in your inventory. A successful extraction adds the Ghost Sprite to your collection, letting you summon it in future matches even if you lose it mid-game. Extracting it also unlocks a style for The Guardian skin from the Runners Battle Pass.

What does the Ghost Sprite do?

The Ghost Sprite's ability is straightforward: every time you reload a weapon, it activates an Invisibility Cloak automatically. No button press required. The cloak kicks in the moment the reload animation completes, giving you a brief window where enemies cannot see you clearly.

This is most effective in three situations:

  • Repositioning after dumping a magazine into someone who is still alive
  • Escaping a third-party before they can finish you off
  • Setting up a re-peek by going invisible, moving laterally, and re-engaging from an unexpected angle

The cloak resets with every reload, which means the ability has no cooldown in the traditional sense. Reload, go invisible, reposition, repeat. In drawn-out final-circle fights where enemies are watching your last known position, that cycle can be the difference between a win and getting picked off.

Sprite Chests are your best bet

Ghost Sprite level progression

Leveling up the Ghost Sprite extends how long the Invisibility Cloak lasts after each reload. The difference between Level 1 and Level 5 is 2 full seconds, which is significant in a fast-paced fight.

At Level 5, 5 seconds of invisibility per reload gives you enough time to sprint to cover, switch angles, or completely disengage from a fight. Getting the Sprite to max level before extracting it means every future match starts with a fully upgraded companion ready to go.

All Ghost Sprite variants: which one should you chase?

The Ghost Sprite has four variants in Chapter 7 Season 3. Each special variant keeps the base invisibility cloak and stacks an additional bonus on top.

The Gold Ghost Sprite is the obvious pick if you are grinding XP. The Galaxy Ghost Sprite is quietly strong in longer matches where ammunition becomes a resource problem. The Gummy Ghost Sprite pays off if you are farming Sprite Dust to progress your collection faster. For more on tracking down the Gold variant specifically, check the Gold Sprite guide, and for Gummy variants, the Gummy Sprite guide breaks down every type and their spawn odds.

A Holofoil Ghost Sprite variant is also confirmed and was scheduled to arrive on July 9, 2026, adding another version to hunt down.

tip
Special variants are rarer than the base Ghost Sprite. Treat finding any variant as a bonus rather than the primary goal on any given match. Consistent extraction of the base version is the faster path to a leveled-up Sprite.

Tips for farming the Ghost Sprite efficiently

After running multiple matches specifically hunting this Sprite, a few habits consistently improve results:

  • Prioritize Sprite Chests above all other containers. They have the highest Sprite drop rate in the game.
  • Play through the nighttime phase actively. Floor spawns only appear at night, so do not bunker down waiting for the storm to close.
  • Open Rare Chests whenever you find them. They carry better odds for Epic-rarity items than standard chests.
  • Do not skip fishing spots. The Ghost Sprite can come from a catch, and fishing spots are often ignored by other players.
  • Have an extraction plan before the final circles. Finding the Sprite matters nothing if you die before reaching an Extraction Point.
